Our talent will be better and we will have players in their 2nd year in the system. Our OC is where we need to see the greatest improvement! Call plays to our talent level, understand that Mason will bail sooner than most because of his ht, make game time adjustments! I really believe the skill positions especially at WR will improve dramatically! GMG

Really excited about the choices! Harper is a proven winner! Cross is a proven winner with local contacts. Mac has done well with just 1 year at Ark State. Wonder what the buyout is for these guys?

He was a proven winner and recruiter at UNT. He knows the local market. No buy out will be required and you should be able to hire at budget. He has 2 yrs left on a $1.5 contract with LSU. When you look at his resume I don't see anybody that would be a better fit. How many of us were glad to see him go? Why would he want the job? He could view it as a homecoming and he knows what he has here with some improvements.

JJ advantage.. has proved he can win here, reasonable contract with the LSU subsidy, no buyout, and he probably wouldn't jump ship for another job! GMG

Interesting blurb in the paper today with Wren saying he believes the school can attract a current D1 head coach.. Any ideas??

What parameters would you like to see in the search for a new BB coach? For me, has been an assistant coach at a successful D1. Has had success as a HEAD coach either at DII or Jr. College. These items would limit buy outs. Keep the youth movement going with a younger guy. A plus would be local contacts with schools and AAU, but not a must. Assistants can be hired for those items. GMG

Are we going to hear the same negative comments about potential BB hire that we heard concerning a new FB coach and AD? Dead end job, not a step up, we are going to have to shoot low and when we do hire we will all be disappointed! I like Cross because he has done it with local talent! We can offer $150 to $200 grand more and he can stay in his recruiting backyard! Now a big buyout could be a killer! As with Seth and Wren I think we will all be presently surprised by the hire! GMG

I agree with the step up on the new BB coach. Don't know if an assistant coach with no or limited head coaching experience will cut it. We tried that with Benfired!

Hired Asst with strong HS and AAU contacts! He looks strong!

Would like to see a youthful guy like we did for football! I also think having Texas AAU contacts would be important!

At 6'3 211 lbs athletic with a rocket arm he may be hard to beat out. The bueaty of Fine's work ethic is hopefully it rubs off on others. Vey exciting! GMG

I don't know how you get that, but I am sure you have some inside connections! I really believe Benford is not a game time coach! I was with the team for the first two years and I don't know if I have ever seen a frequency of substitutions that he incorporated! It was like he was looking instead of having a game plan!

D-Hair in the slot could be special! We need a lot more out of that position! Rico Suave is my man this year!!!

I think it is great because you will have shuttles run back and forth hopefully cutting back on traffic and parking issues within campus. Also parking places mean $$$$. Will definatly add some money to the coffers!
