  1. Right now last week looks like fools gold, both on offense and on defense. Need something before the half. And then second half needs to be muuuch better.
  2. I know. Because of that I seem to be watching a completely different game than the rest of you. It feels like NT ought to be leading 7-3 to me.
  3. Ok. So I saw two drives. One the first NT scored. on the second the D stopped Memphis at the ten yard line. And somehow NT is down 17-7
  4. Run defense is having trouble with Memphis doing a lot turning direction prior to hitting the line of scrimage.
  5. Memphis QB took forever to then decide to not pass the ball. At some point the D will get him. But rush defense seems like it needs to adapt a lot.
  6. Ok, I saw one drive. NT scored. And somehow NT is down 14-7.
  7. Argh I had technical problems and missed the first 6 minutes... I finally manage to get the game on...and its already 14-0 with a Memphis guy rushing 130 yards. What are you guys doing while i am gone?
  8. Are you sure about that. I agree ULM is not spending. But LaTech isn't all that much better by all accounts. Part of why Holtz didn't mind parting ways was that he was tired of them not being willing to spend with the UTSA, UAB, FAU and UNTs of the world.
  9. I feel like this is the one they need to get any remaining doubting players on the team to buy fully in. I believe they will get it. Common opponents are Navy, which Memphis beat by 3 at home and NT lost by 3 on the road, and Tulane which Memphis lost by 10 at home and UNT lost by 7 on the road. In other words this ought to very much be a game at eye level I feel UNT will take it 33-30

  11. I was happy to see the improvement and am kind of ok to lose to the best team in the conference on the road by 7 for the moment. If you won that game you would be a conference contender, and prior to this game there was little to suggest such a thing. UNT looked like a team that is upper middle of the pack in its last two games, and lower middle of the pack against navy. The next 3 teams are all good i.e. middle of the pack in the AAC or a bit better. You can lose one or two of those. But only one can be the best team in the conference -likely Tulane- and if NT do not manage to get any of the next 3, then what looked like progress on the field will feel much more like fools gold to me. SMU for example has great talent, but Lashlee is honestly a very pedestrian developer and scheemer and so far they got to play nothing but the dregs of the conference (Charlotte ECu and Temple combine so far for one AAC win - Charlottes win over ECU). Memphis has two common opponents with NT, and if you adjust for home and away, then NT did about the same against Tulane and Navy as Memphis, plus that game is in Denton. UTSA has been fairly decent, but NT has the home advantage.
  12. Pitty. But this game was progress. Much more confident UNT can win 3 of the next five than i was before this game. I will give Morris credit for having balls in this game. That said at some point you have to improve on that 4-th down percentage.
  13. Oh yeah, I forgot they were ranked. Still would be nice to be able to say you do it on the regular
  14. When is the last time UNT beat a team ranked in the AP top 25? Its possible to dream of it right now
  15. This defense has improved during the season. it was arguably the worst defense in FBS during the first 2-3 games of the season. But by now it might inch towards top 100 territory.
  16. I don't think its a fumble. But my trust in the review process is not high
  17. Ouch. This is demoralizing. Defense plays pretty good by its standards, and then the O gives it back.
  18. Ok. The defense has won two drives now! If the offense had won even one drive, this game would be tied.
  19. not angry he went for this. I think its the right decision. Maybe wonder about the play call though.
  20. They don't count for NET. Angelo State is DII and LSU Shreveport is NAIA.
  21. Honestly, for the AAC the timing isn't super crucial (unlike for the PAC2 where the silence should scare the bejeesus out of their fans). If it takes a bit longer and only happens in 2025, then that is no disaster for the AAC. Yes the uneven number would make scheduling in 2024 a bit tougher for the admins, but it could be done. I take it, that if you push Army's entrance by a year that would reduce that 35 million number by a whole lot.
  22. On the road against a ranked team built to take advantage of UNTs primary defensive weakness. I am afraid the most likely score is something like 20-45. I will say though, that if UNT can go up two scores early enough, then I can see them potentially pulling the upset, because that forces things a bit better in the defenses direction.
