  1. I can't help but think that it is a big FU from the conference to FSU to make them be SMUs conference opener and have them traveling to SMU. Also funny: SMus opener will already be FSUs fourth conference game. Feels like they see other games as more important than the conference
  2. I get the schadenfreude... but I still would have preferred to have SMU win
  3. Less annoyed at this loss than at the LSU, Fordham and St Johns losses. Its a ranked team getting home cooking on their home floor. Also they still have to go to Denton.
  4. I don't hate him taking that shot as much as some of you. Yes waiting sure IS the better play there. But he is super open, and in rythm and has no reason to not be confident, chances an equally good opportunity to drain it will not be coming. Also this ball comes there very quick, its not like he has two seconds to think about it, as he gets the ball almost out of nowhere so freely at the arc. What is more, we on the screen always see the clock, the players do not. Yes they oughta have an idea about it, but in that situation I want 100 % of his cognitive resources on making that shot.
  5. wow, that review ended muuuch better for UNT than I thought it would
  6. wow, giving up like 6 points in 3 seconds instead of getting a charge
  7. I know the rules are tougher on taking charges now... but I feel he was there clearly before golden left the ground
  8. Wow, that was a lot of funny misses on both soides in the space of 30 secs
  9. honestly when you see the replay with the elbow in the fact, maybe it is not highly intentional, but it still should have been called a flagrant
  10. I didn't see his full interview, but I assume it was done beforehand and not actually live, which would have made it difficult to talk about anything related UNT.
  11. On a side note: Its nice to be on ESPN2 rather than some channel only streamers care about. Also not minding seeing Grant McCasland during the break
  12. too bad they didn't review that out of bounds before, where FAU immediately turned that into a 3. Was clearly off of FAU
  13. Maybe this is for the best. I could imagine the liberty QB or Stone being the better option anyway
  14. UNT beat SMu for the first time in 25 years. It may be a bit counter intuitive ... but it is true that it took so long because UNT was mostly better than SMu at basketball in the last 20 years
  15. There are only ten teams? Is the one first place vote UNTs coach?
  16. I went with Bell, with Perry and Hamlet second and third but essentially interchangable. Primarily because I think having someone who can score at his position would help this team more than a great shooter as it would open up the whole offense. That said, the others capacity to find buckets when there are no open looks and the shot clock ticks down would obviously also be tremendously valuable. Mitchell doesn't figure for me, as despite tremendous athletic talent he never developed into that good a college player. Had he played for Mac/Hodge (or Jones) that might have been different, but then again they also have a bunch of players whom they don't play if they don't buy in.
  17. Ok, so UNT will has invested in TWO transfer QBs? I don't know who will start at that position next season and this guy may be great.... but rather than getting two QBs I would have had a great DL.
  18. Honestly, of the Chandlers, I would have preferred to keep Rogers. Call me crazy... but I expect Stone to start at least some stretch of the 24 season
  19. That is true. And in some ways it is great. But it is also frustrating. If those teams are/were just a bit closer to their endform already at the start of the season, at larges would absoltuely be in reach, and with the very best teams even rankings would happen every once in a while.
  20. I am annoyed by FAU crapping the bed repeatedly before UNT gets a chance at a marquee win.
  21. A lot of good to take out of this game. Edwards might well be the new Perry. Allen looks like he might step up. They closed out a team that is built well to get back into a game. Noland at times looked like another guy that can put it in when the shot clock clicks down. However a few things that I am sure coach will realize he needs to work on asap. For one, this team needs to get better at beating the press, no matter whether there are injuries or not. Somebody who dares (and is capable) to drive on the dribble out of their own half would go a long way there.
  22. Hmmm. Now is when we will see if this team has learnt from past mistakes when they couldn't close out.
  23. UNT is shooting incredible in this half. My primary worry is what will happen when they can't make desperation shots in the last 4 seconds of the shot clock anymore. But really gotta give credit to Edwards and Noland so far.
  24. Very encouraging to see Sissoko get some points early
