Major concern this week versus 'Bama. Been a major concern the last four- or five- years, maybe more. Getting through body-bag non-conference games has always taken it's toll on good ol' UNT. I'm sure there will be a few key injuries and alot of banged up Eagles come early Sunday morning. Wish we could stop playing these games and begin conference play healthy for once. Go Mean Green.

The picture used in the article looks like it's Brad Kassell or Cody Spencer from the Titans tackling ol' Patrick Cobbs. Poetic justice? Or wishful thinking?

Thanks, Newey. We'll check back with ya later. Have fun out there.

So true. I remember running into Booger Kennedy in New Orleans off Burbon St. with the same set of circumstances - great guy, very polite and courteous. Giant bowling ball of a man. I hope he is doing well and I wish him the best. Go Mean Green.

Coach Mac Speaks About Iowa St.
Green Oracle replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Football
Of primry importance is keeping Houston's offense on the sideline. With whomever we can accomplish that, the better. How did Houston's rushing defense do last week versus UCLA? And we should get that Chancellor kid more involved, aka Jamal Branch style. Go Mean Green. -
Can't come quick enough. Need wins now. We can't wait through three- more years of this.

Plenty Riding on UNT's game against Houston
Green Oracle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
'"We have got what we have got; we will have to coach them up and do the best that we can,” McCarney said.' I wrote three- follow-up sentences twice, deleting both, then just sat and stared at this quote again and again. 'Nuff said.- 1 reply

Anyone know if there is a charge for parking? Where is everyone parking/tailgating? I heard the Old Fairway is the place to be. Is that correct?

That's pretty funny

FIU Game Watching in Colleyville Area

Anyone know of anywhere in the Grapevine Colleyville Southlake area like the Hooters for example that's showing the game i.e. like Rudy's BBQ in Allen? -
FIU Game Watching in Colleyville Area
Green Oracle replied to Green Oracle's topic in Mean Green Football
Thanks again. Are you connecting this to your TV, or watching via your laptop? I tried to use Wii last night to login to ESPN3 and kept being booted, having to reload - I think it's the format it's streamed taht doesn't sit well with the Wii. Anyone have any better luck with the Wii and ESPN3? Is anyone hooking their laptop to their TV to watch ESPN3's broadcast? Do I need some type of hardware (like a flux compacitor) to achieve this? -

Thanks, everyone. Need to discover if Verizon Fios carries ESPN 3. -
Anyone know where the FIU game will be televised in the Colleyville / Grapevine/ Southlake area? Is anyone having a gathering locally in the Colleyville area? Would like to meet up with fellow alums in my neck of the woods...thanks.

Brett Vito UNT Interview With UH Writer
Green Oracle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
For what it's worth, I agree with Vito. What troubles me are the comments McCarney has made regarding the size and strength of our football team and the lack of fundamentals in tackling. Add that to the losses up front and I wonder how we will get Dunbar and the running game going. I enjoyed my time at UNT and will be rooting for em with the rest of you come the 10th, but I'm concened, must say. First things first - let's see how we fare against FIU. -
I'm burned out on these Hurricane names. You'd think the weather service would name Hurricane's with better ones - like maybe something Biblical or out of a great horror movie. Irene and Rita don't sound impressive at all. Neither does Ike. Where do they get these names? Irene and Rita sound like two Bingo gals down at the VHA hospital...

Glad to see this picture. Was wondering where the sun would be in relation to seats, etc. -
Superconferences and the FBS Divide
Green Oracle replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
This scenario you've described is a reality - an example is Appalachian St. playing someone else for the semifinals or quarterfinals to the old Div II tournaments - did anyone pay any attention to them? -

My guess is because it wasn't in their contract. -
Dodge and Canales both (especially Dodge) seemed to spread the ball around with their offenses. It'll be interesting to see what McCarney implements, if Thompson can 'keep the DB's honest', and if the offensive line can open up some holes for Dunbar and protect Derek enough to swing it out to Lance. Let's get six- or more wins this season, anyway we can.
