SMU finished dead last in their own tournament, pretty sad! -
Trouble in OU land, the 3-11 Sooners are about to lose seven in a row and be swept by our lady eagles. Congrats!

Nice to see VB finally winning some games especially from last years 13-19 record, but at what cost with this soft schedule does this really start to hurt us! WKU just knocked off Nationally ranked Ohio St. 3-0 and have played a very tough non-conference schedule. Have we played anyone comparable to WKU so our girls will be ready for them or even the top teams in our conference. Why not play a few middle to upper schools in the P5 conferences instead of the bottom feeders throughout the country. I'm really not understanding the logic here on the scheduling unless championships mean nothing and racking up wins mean everything. Example: In the tournament we're presently playing in Mississippi St is picked to finish 13 out of 13 teams in the SEC. They already have been blownout by two Southland Conference teams earlier in the season.(Lost to SFA 3-0 / Lost to McNesse St. 3-0) The other two teams we're playing - in this tournament are Jackson St. who has a record of 1-12 and SE Louisiana sitting at 2-10. This competition has really been the norm for us this year. Hope this soft schedule pays off but I think when it comes to scheduling, we need to take a page out of WKU book! Go Mean Green!

North Texas soccer allows late equalizer in tie against Indiana
blurbeard replied to Skipper's topic in Mean Green Athletics
Actually false statement! I've followed the men and women's soccer programs for years and the women's team have beaten several Big 12, SEC and PAC 12 teams over the years. Go to their website and you will see wins against OU, TCU, Baylor, Texas, Texas Tech, Oregon State, Arkansas, Kansas, etc.. Personally I would just like to see all of the other sports win their first CUSA title! I believe soccer already has four. -
Mean Green volleyball off to hot start after tough 2016 campaign

http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/volleyball-women/d1 Here is a link to the top 25 rankings, please show me where Oregon State is #22. Not even receiving votes and if you go to the Pac 12 conference they're picked to finish at the bottom of the preseason coaches poll. -
So I guess the tournament really doesn't start until Wednesday!

Rings speak volumes! The long wait is over. The Mean Green soccer team received their conference championship rings last night. The seniors finished their careers with four titles and three rings. -

http://www.meangreensports.com/sports/w-soccer/ntex-w-soccer-body.html Some nice stories on the NT soccer website - Picture of the girls wearing their 2015 championship rings and the new recruiting class soccer is bringing in for next fall. Looks like a great class - Soccer will be going for their fourth CUSA title next fall...pretty impressive!

Sorry, found it. We lost Monday to Iona 62-51, Iona improves to 4-6 for the year. The win tonight against an 1-8 LaSalle team improves our record to 4-5. We have Incarnate Word and Oklahoma Panhandle St up next so we should be 6-5 before CUSA begins.

Tough loss for the ladies in the first round losing to FAU 5-0. On the championship title race for the year we're still in second place at the moment winning titles in M.Golf, M.Cross Country and on the women's side Soccer. Need Track & Field to finish strong to add to our 3 titles. -

Mens C-USA golf Tournament. UNT leading
blurbeard replied to outoftown's topic in Mean Green Athletics
I was talking about present UNT coaches and the titles they have won. On history of the sport, yes mens golf has been around the longest where I believe W soccer and tennis were started in the late 90's.
