  1. The cheerleaders did get into the action, but trust me, the teachers instigated. Only reason I know was that I was surprised since I've never seen the wave at a BB game. And, you didn't think the kids doing the sign-spinning thing was half-time entertainment? It cracked me up.
  2. Can't blame the kids - it was actually some teachers who started the wave. My friend and I moved from our seats down lown b/c I kept getting kicked in the back for the entire first half by the kids behind us. So, we moved up higher and watched as a group of teachers started the wave. I'm lucky to work from home with the ability to adjust my schedule to attend games like this, but I'm still not a fan of having a game where our season tickets can't be enjoyed by the whole family.
  3. Smart-aleck. But, you're probably right. I'll have to punish him mightily for that. It is sort of like saying irregardless or first and foremost. Hmmm, wondering where I put that paddle... And, what is up with Alzee?
  4. I agree. The kids did make it fun! There was a group of high school guys (I think) that were having just as much fun as the little kids. That was awesome. And, I cracked up when (pregame) one of the Pit Crew guys yelled "BRETT VITO!" and got his little sheepish wave from Brett. Too cute. and, even at 8'8, I'm not on the Knox bandwagon. (and why I made my comment - last BB season, I bagged on him and got about a dozen red negatives and lots of people fussing at me about him.)
  5. Yeah, we came back and kicked ass, but they played UGLY in that first half. They finally looked like the Mean Green with about five minutes left of the first half ... but man, it was nasty. We were behind much of the time ... but, after the half, it was like a different team. And, I still defend my stance that Ben Knox is another tall awkward white guy.
  6. Be careful what you say. I made a Knox comment last year and really riled up the masses. I've had these thoughts all along about him!
  7. We saw you win from across the way. I was the loud gal yelling at the stupid ref when he called Josh for the foul when the dude fell on top of him. (Ridiculous!) Congrats! Your kids were cracking me up.
  8. I have heather green UNT shirts, a pink one and several white ones (in addition to all kinds of green ones). I actually have more UNT shirts and gear than I have for my alma mater of Baylor (who's going to a Bowl game this year *doing the dance of love*). So, I think showing the Mean Green love can come in all colors. If I have my choice, I'll wear my green shirts, but my heather grey NCAA tourney UNT shirt is pretty awesome. Plus, I got my pink one (with green logo) for the breast cancer awareness stuff. *shrug* I think if this is the only thing we have to grump about, then we're doing pretty good. And, let me quantify all of this by saying, I don't like the black either.
  9. As a consumer, the only thing I can say about this is the following: there is a plethora of UNT gear available (cheaper, too, I would think) at Target, Wal-Mart, even CVS and Walgreens. Conversely, I don't know that I've seen SMU and TCU gear in any of those stores. Perhaps they're trying to offer variety? I do think it would be a good idea to put a UNT shirt and maybe a TWU shirt into the display window. But, just tossing that idea out there.
  10. I prefer the Van Halen cover of the song, which coincidentally is now running through my head, thank you very much.
  11. Holy veal. *giggling* My Iphone censors me as well.
  12. He has been a wonderful man, but I'm very glad to see this move. I was definitely in the minority when I was not excited at the announcement of Coach Dodge coming to UNT. I was really hoping to be proven wrong, but alas, this was one time when I was (unfortunately) right about a coaching move. I wish the man nothing but the best in his future. I know many Southlake-Carroll fans who would welcome him back with open arms and a hefty paycheck! And, I expect Riley to stay and graduate from UNT. He seems like a stand-up guy and that just makes sense. My Facebook friends keep throwing out Mike Leach as the name they'd like to see replace Dodge. It would be colorful and interesting. And, after these last few dud seasons, I'm all about colorful and interesting. Go Mean Green!
  13. We're in 123 or 124. Listen for the really loud soccer mom and the drill sergeant folks heckling the refs and other team. That'll be us.
  14. I'll go see SMU play just to watch Collin Mangrum. Even if he is beating up some crummy college team.
  15. Thrilled the Mean Green football team FINALLY won a game!

  16. Hey, Star Trek is aphrodisiac to some of us female nerds. Throw in a few hobbits, Capt. Mal Reynolds and Han Solo and I'm never leaving.
  17. Is this a totally new position at UNT? I don't recall hearing that title before. What does this mean for the program? Sounds like he has some great credentials.
  18. Here are the kiddos decked out in their UNT gear. Pretty cool getting to meet Johnny. Guess you can tell by two of the three kids that we're more into UNT basketball, but we'll make it to a few football games this season, too.
  19. We went to the game tonight and had a blast. I think we were the only folks there decked out in UNT gear. Johnny Quinn sat behind us and we got a picture of our kids with him tonight. He was very nice about it, too. I'll try to upload the pic and post it soon. Thanks Kyle for the heads up. Lots of fun.
  20. I tried to "like" this comment more than once, but just couldn't.
  21. Is it Saturday yet? If the guys went shirtless and played in their workout shorts, I'd be there panting and cheering in the cougar section. But I digress. What were they saying again? Oh yeah, football season. Yeahhhhh, football season.
  22. I guess those of us who can't afford to live in $200k homes are supposed to not own homes? There has to be a demand for projects like W. 7th St. in areas. There is that demand in FW. Is there that demand in Denton? There has to be financial backing. Looks like The Martino Group here in Denton is doing their best to try and fuel some of that desire and create a urban downtown here. We live in a decent little sub-division where houses go for about $100k (give or take) and, so far, there are no gang-bangers walking down our streets tagging houses and doing drive-bys. Just seems a little small-minded to me to make the assumptions that lower income folks are naturally going to be criminals. (and trust me, I'm no liberal, I just think it is a poor assumption - pun intended.)
  23. What a shame that they built $90k houses that working people can afford to buy. Because clearly that is where all the gangs come from. Really?
