The older picture was taken prior to an expansion after entry into the SWC. The Stadium was moved east about 150 yards on RR ties and the field was lowered. They had to expand the stadium by 1960 as a condition of entering the SWC. At one time the idea of taking out the track and moving the Fouts Field stands closer to the field using the same means was floated as a part of a plan for expanding Fouts,

Matt Simon had that mentality. The "Safeway parking" comment lives on. We played home games against Kansas, Texas A&M, and Army at Tx Stadium. We had Oregon State and Vanderbilt at Fouts etc.

I don't know if Abner faced 8 in the box, but I do know from statements from teammates that he took a lot of uncalled late hits etc. He absolutely belongs high on the list.

Agree with freshman Jamario best ever. His game against Colorado awed the Buffalo fans around me and is the second best performance by a UNT running back after Dunbar's game at home against Kansas State. Speaking of Kansas State we need to Bring them back to Denton, if that game had been any other weekend than Thanksgiving we would have easily set the attendance record.

I thought you said it was an "April Fools" prank and posted by an unreliable source just days ago. I am waiting to hear from all those opposed to this series that gave all the negatives when the news first broke.

Generally on this board the knee jerk reaction of many is to attack the messenger (see Green Joe's above post). I have learned it is best to keep such information to oneself.
