  1. http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1800&ATCLID=205503461 29 is so young. Prayers to his family.
  2. My enthusiasm for the start of the football season has just vanished.
  3. I had no idea that smut and Baylor were state universities.
  4. Did you know that the four most recent ferry boat additions to the Bolivar Peninsula servicing Galveston are each painted in the colors of the university of Texas, Texas a and m, Baylor, or smut. Totally disgusting and a waste of taxpayer dollars.
  5. Good point Harry. And like golf, it's not how you drive, but how you arrive.
  6. Emmit, thanks for your hard work. What bothers me is that our AD does not do this kind of work. Emmitt holds down a full tome job, yet he can find the time to distribute football posters. C'mon AD, use some of your payed employees to do this type of work.
  7. Latest on Sims- http://www.beaumontenterprise.com/sports/lamar/article/HS-coach-says-Sims-going-to-Lamar-3693686.php
  8. I thought he was joining his Dad at Marble Falls? Either way, good luck to Riley. Regardless, what people think, Riley gave it his all while wearing the green and white of UNT.
  9. Wingspan Bridge? O.K., you can stop laughing now.
  10. Any updates/photos on the pedestrian bridge project?
  11. Agree! Wasn't saying the food was great. Never eaten any of their food. As I recall, one of the first Rudy's I visited had Shell gasoline pumps. Outside of San Antonio.
  12. Buc-ee's is a gasoline pumping, pee break, snack re-supply, clean restroom traveling experience. Place is unbelievable. Whoever the person is who founded the "niche market" of really, really clean restrooms, and you can buy gas and all this other stuff too, is a genius.
  13. With Mitchell getting the invites to these high profile camps for the nation's top BB players, I wonder what effect this will have on the number of games UNT will have televised? Bet we get a bunch.
  14. Personally, I'm glad to see McCarney focus on offensive linemen. Hope he creates a rotation. I've always been critical of Dickey and Dodge not bringing in enough, quality linemen. Sure, they would sign 2-3 good ones each class, but on occasion we would have one drop from the program for whatever reason. Other programs bring in several big linemen each year. I know. I've watched them manhandle our DL on many occasions. And don't forget, none of these recruits have signed on the dotted line. I also think DMac needs to shift focus to DL, QB, and LB.
  15. This is a good kid. National Honor Society, Young Life, etc. http://www.ncsasports.org/football-recruiting/tx/wichita-falls/rider-high-school/harrison-sorge Also throws the shot put in track.
  16. No, but the Osborne Brothers could have been playing Rocky Top. You know, Rock Top Tennesseeeeee................................
  17. I listened to parts of the game while attending a bluegrass festival in McKinney.
  18. I haven't found an Aggie yet who is thrilled about not playing Texas each year and 100+ year old tradition going away.
  19. And look at the two "real" home games at fouts; Cal Poly Pomona and West Texas State. Now those are two games that must have gotten the students and locals excited.
  20. Is it possible for TV to change our fight song to "Malaguena"? Listen- Back in the late 1990's UNT played Texas A & M at Kyle Field and the Green Brigade played this song to almost a standing ovation. One of the best performances ever by the GB.
  21. TCU will be interesting indeed. They sold out their general admission tickets already. http://www.star-telegram.com/2012/05/16/3966119/full-house-move-to-big-12-renovated.html What happens when they end up middle of the pack or below?
  22. Here's an article on Rivals regarding early commits being good recruiters. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1381077
  23. "SMU and Houston get out of CUSA and get to rebuild the BE. They join forces with a power called Boise State and they will actually breathe some new life into that weak league. They get out of Texas and get to expose their program to the populated part of the nation." Agree almost all of your post, but I do take exception with SMU and Houston. I don't see people in the "hardcore" East getting excited about SMU and U of H coming to their stadiums. That's like UNT bringing in Texas Southern for a game.
