  1. Words that sound like one thing but are spelled another are fun. For example: Artificial rugs aint 'Merkin. Or are they?
  2. This is a politics thread, so keep it serious. And speak 'Merkin!
  3. I think it has to be someone who has actually played in a game and had an effect on the outcome.
  4. Then why mention it? Outside of getting in another red meat buzz-word. Lesbian is already in the record here (though UNT90 was not advocating it, just pointing out that it will be used by some, right or wrong). All these 'heard tidbits' do is whip up a frenzy that makes any reasoned analysis of her record, writings, and career mute in the face of pro and anti partisan histrionics. Edit: Beat me to it CMJ, and with better research I hope. Of course, we must always, always hold people to crap they said when they were younger, right? Writing stuff decades ago sucks
  5. Dude, my retinas are now forever scarred by the Betty White photo just at the end of that article. And I'm a big fan, but that was one helluva rough conceptual/visual transition. And if the original website in question is for real, they've been punked by the author. There is no way someone can write a sentence as deliriously funny as this given the topic and be serious: "In these hard times, male college students are more focused than ever on their studies and building lifelong associates, and references, by joining fraternities and other extracurricular organizations."
  6. Preach brother. They're barely a step above Taco Bell, but simply can't compete with Taco Bueno. I won't even denigrate Taco Cabana via a comparison.
  7. [Mental note to self] No longer automatically google anything mentioned on this thread you haven't heard of while at work.
  8. He's from Chicago, where Depaul is. Might have reevaluated based on being closer to family given the tragedy. Understandable.
  9. Kordell wants his Slash back. Donovan isn't giving any of his rings back.
  10. People don't trust the Federal Government? Especially those that identify with the party (currently) out of power? Not surprised by the stats quoted. But, I can pretty much sum up the relative reactions to this revelation through the majesty and wisdom of Cinderella. If you're Liberal: If you're Conservative: If you're a cynic like me
  11. Go ahead and call him Chris Evert one more time. This could get good.
  12. Uhmm, Hazard County was in Georgia, and he represented that state just fine He was born in North Carolina (not far from where I used to live there. And yes, they had a sign for him there).
  13. This could be characterized as the George Marshall conundrum. Stretching the field vertically is as much about credibility of the threat as it is about completions. Marshall made more than his fair share of drops, but between Hall's arm being able to credibly loft a long one, and Marshall's ability to get behind defenses, there was always the credibility of hitting the long one, and hence keeping the opposing defenses from stacking the box. Though, it means that Stradford will have to not do a Featherstone "Stone Hands" impression from Necessary Roughness to keep the threat credible.
  14. There are not enough +1s for this post. It's a fair feeling to have regrets about the burning of his redshirt, but the fact of the matter is that it happened, and it's time to focus on what he can do in his three remaining years. That is, unless someone here can figure out the flux capacitor quandary. Solve that, and it's time to hop in the DoLorean with McFly to fix this thing. Just be careful about unraveling the fabric of the space time continuum.
  15. In every generation, a citizen comes forth to pen the grand poetic epic of their times. Walt Whitman, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, scoot over and make room for the Finch. Whether it comes to pass or not, it was a hellavuh good read.
  16. Not that you like telling that story McNabb a choke-artist? Sure. Why not. What does Mike Shanahan know about quarterbacks anyway? Agreed that it does make both teams better though.
  17. If it's the smart car Jackie Chan drove in Cannonball Run II, then sign me up!!
