  1. Now there will be three days of Sunbelt men's basketball at the superpit...with no NT participant.
  2. But did you know that other Kids Incorporated alumni include: Jennifer Love Hewitt Mario Lopez (Slater on Saved by the Bell) Martika (remember the 80's song "toy soldiers"?) Shanice (the 90's hit "I love your smile")
  3. I know there is still some time left in the game but I'm gonna go ahead and prounounce the one-and-done for our men. Now, we didn't give them the kind of turn out ALL YEAR LONG that they deserved....but now we can stop the "why don't you attend basketball" threads. Spring game is coming up soon....softball anyone?
  4. I always like Clarissa Explains It All...Melissa Joan Hart pre-Sabrina. And Kids Incorporated was a classic. "Kids Incorporated....K---I---D---S!" And by the way, G.I. Joe was the best cartoon period. "Now I know.....And knowing is half the battle."
  5. I'll be guarding a bank in Dallas...but my attention will be on my little radio tuned to the game.
  6. The President of that company was my uncle until I was 12 and he and my aunt divorced. Small world huh?
  7. Western Kentucky... Is that K through 12?
  8. I believe you are preaching to the choir on this one. I think JJ probably gives L-Hop the green light to shoot but better decisions have got to be made. A shot from in the paint, a shorter jumper and ESPECIALLY a shot off of a drive to the bucket are higher percentage shots...and more importantly they're more likely to draw a foul and get you to the line with the chance to score with a stopped clock. The team will mature I am sure as more and more games slip away because of a lack of discipline. The problem I see is that this teams' greatest strength is also their achilles' heel, they are ultra athletic and seem to depend on that to get them through.,
  9. 1)Three point shooting...ugly. 2)Defensive rebounding....ugly. 3)Why are we pitching up threes and shooting against double teams all night? 4)Apparently over the back can only be called if the game isn't on the line and calling wouldn't prevent a player from getting injured. 5)Nice turn out. For all of you who had excuses for not attending tonight (blah, blah, long distance, blah, blah, weeknight, blah, blah, leperacy, blah, blah, death) you better be out in force on Saturday.
  10. Well you call just eat it because you can't compete with the Tyler Helwig fan club. We have cool perks for our members. If your dad is a mechanic we let you work in a car dealership's service department regardless of your skill level. If your dad is a lawyer we let you work capital cases regardless of competency. If you dad is in the military we let you make foreign policy decisions even if you've never stepped outside of your home town. Now, as far as spare white basketball player fan clubs go...mine rocks the most!!!
  11. DD hasn't been getting any job offers? Last I heard he was and hadn't found one worth leaving for.
  12. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring this up...and you couldn't be more wrong. USM whooped our o-line's butts from start to finish, period. It wouldn't have mattered if we had run the west coast we would have been demolished. There is no play, and I repeat NO play, that works with at least two men constantly in your backfield. No, not the draw. No, not the quick out either. And especially not play action. Line up five guys across our line that go at least 305 and are quick and then we'll see how bad his play calling is. They were bigger than we were, and faster. That's a recipe for making any OC look bad. Do you think OU's OC should be fired? He got his squad exposed against a faster defense. And has it never occurred to anyone that we recruit players to the Sun Belt, play in a sub Sun Belt stadium and have Sun Belt financial and attendance support? Flannie plays with the cards he is dealt and has four rings to show for it. Rhett Bomar, Herman Johnson, Reggie Bush and Jason Campbell aren't at North Texas. I'm not totally excusing Flanigan's playcalling, it can be suspect at times, but let's not pretend he's taking chicken salad and making chicken s*(t.
  13. "But Pergolizzi may not have counted on New Mexico State's urgency and need to make a splash as the Aggies make the big jump upwards from the Sun Belt Conference to the high-powered Western Athletic Conference. That league is home to the likes of budding powerhouses like Fresno State, Boise State and Brigham Young -- a pass-happy league where Mumme's 'Air Raid' offense will fit right in. " I would be insulted by his referring to the WAC as a "big jump upwards" if he didn't honestly think that BYU is in the WAC.
  14. Here's an HSO. Perhaps, just perhaps, Packer fans should be more worried about their defense that couldn't keep the Vikings out of the endzone...that would prevent any "classless" mooning incidents, would it not? Or, maybe they should worry about their QB throwing 4 interceptions. You know why T.O. and Nicolette Sheridan are news worthy? Know why Janet Jackson was news worthy? Know why Moss is newsworthy? Because people are willing to rehash their actions ad nauseum and complain for days, and days, and days, and days, and days about how bad they are. Anyone remember the class clown in grade school? No audience, no clown. Am I saying we should ignore what these people do? No, but how bout letting the NFL police their players and refusing to dignify them with our continued attention?

  16. "Breaking a 10-game losing streak on NMSU’s home court does not appear to be an easy task. The Aggies are 4-8 on the season, but will be boosted by the return of legendary coach Lou Henson." No they won't. Henson is back in the hospital with pnemonia. NMSU may play up though, in tribute to their coach.
  17. I can safely say that I can't do that.
  18. That's quite a chunk of change for an 18 or 19 year old kid, or his family, to be able to put up for bail. I know it's usually only 1/10 but that's still hefty. <_< And $3,700 cash on him? I know I used to get some hefty financial aid disbursement checks but does the boy not believe in banks...or is he "doing work" that is tax free, what with 20 grams of coke on him?
  19. Over 2,000? That's a nice improvement. Baby steps, baby steps.
  20. We only play Western Kentucky once this year prior to the tournament, and it's at the pit. ULL we get at home first, then on the road against them. At least as the two teams feel eachother out we are on our home floor. We REALLY need our "fans" to come suport this team. And who the hell is Evansville? They're the only team to beat WKU this year.
  21. Ok, here is who remains on the OOC schedule: (home)Southeast Missouri State 3-5 (away)Chattanooga 4-2 w/ win over tennessee (away)Tennessee Martin 3-5 w/ loss to arkie state (away)Birmingham Southern 5-3 w/ losses to #12 miss state 55-48 and UMass 64-60 The first three, on paper, look quite winnable but you can't judge a school's basketball team but what you know about the school because often you judge that off of your knowledge of their football prowess. Birmingham southern looks like they've hung with several very good teams. The UMass squad they lost to by 4 knocked off #13 UConn 61-59 just a few nights ago. I would, honestly, be happy with a split in these four games (7-5 OOC), would be ecstatic at 6-4 and would be blown away and buy a Southwest Airlines gift card for wherever our first NCAA tourney game winds up being if we won all four and were 8-3.
  22. Yes, I do remember, the game. And I still can't be held.
