  1. I heard that using my "ignore poster" button would eliminate my having to read asinine posts. Of course, I've never tried it so I don't know if it's a feasible goal to shoot for. I will, though, take the word of others who have already chosen to do so and assume it will work. That's how this whole "listening to those with actual information and not just erroneous assumptions" thing works. You should try it sometime. Or not. Either way I won't have to read it.
  2. Yep, we'll be in the Fouts lot. You can't miss us...we're the only ones out there with a grill and chairs.
  3. I'll always welcome new diehards to come kick it with us. It might be a bit more difficult at football games having to get past the "usher nazis" but I also might be convinced to slide on over to the student section.
  4. This Thursday, in honor of senior night, I will be having the (probably) final tailgate for Mean Green basketball. And, I will be making the Mean Green punch. Since everyone should come to this game anyway to support our seniors feel free to drop by and talk shop in the parking lot beforehand. Contributions to the cause (beer, buns, beer, water, beer) are welcomed.
  5. I know this will be moved but this may be the last time the Mean Green basketball seniors play at the pit. Make it a point to come out and support a group of guys who have represented our university.
  6. Not everyone will make fun of them. Some of them will tell you how much they love their bandanas and doing pushups.
  7. "Do I have something in my teeth? Look real close cuz I swear I feel some spinach..."
  8. Stop it Rick! Interjecting the accomplishments of teams whose coaches believed in them and the programs they represented does nothing more than derail what could have been a perfectly good argument between two mutually exclusive points...ad nauseum.
  9. This is precisely the attitude I can't stand. Follow and support your school because IT IS YOUR SCHOOL not because they have a history of success. Craig Miller is the worst of offenders, though, because he is a sports broadcaster who got his start and training in sports broadcasting AT NORTH TEXAS.
  10. Longwinded as he is I agree with Plummer...in 1,000 words or less.
  11. Arghhhh! I hate it when they don't have the promotion I like! Nevermind that I should be there for the Mean Green...
  12. In baseball I guess I like TCU since they're the closest geographically to Denton (and if SMU has a team I'm conveniently forgetting them) In the majors I like the Yankees. (Ducks as he types this)
  13. I think it's a bit of a logic leap to assume that had Billy Gillespie come here we would be in the same situation as Texas aTm. For starters they probably would have hired him away from us just like they hired him away from UTEP. Second, until I see thousands in average attendance at basketball games, I refuse to think he could recruit to NT the way he can to aTm. The math just doesn't add up.
  14. It's Valentine's Day! Get off the board! This message brought to you by Lera and other Mean Green wives and girlfriends.
  15. I think this will be the story of the season. Our offense should be more balance and much improved but it means nothing if we can't stop anyone. Will we be able to prevent teams from grinding it out, thereby keeping our offense off the field? The story of the Indy Colts until this year was "explosive offense, no defense." It wasn't until the defense showed up this year and shut some people down that their prolific offense paid dividends.
  16. Ok, so I can't figure out how to make polls anymore so I'll just ask the question straight out. Is J-Mo, if he never plays another down for North Texas, a hall of famer? I'd have to vote yes.
  17. Yes, some of us do know who that guy is and I don't think any of us underestimate just how much he did not just for DD but for the athletic department on the whole...and still does. Plus, he's one of my best friends so when I use him to satirize current events there is no malice intended.
