  1. Sad day. We may take for granted how good we've had it. He is a true professional, one of the best play by play guys I've ever heard. Going to be REALLY strange hearing anyone but Georgio call UNT games.
  2. Eddie, if I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised.........to see anyone but Andrew McNulty starting at QB next season.
  3. The Rally House in Plano has a good amount of UNT Gear. It's up front too.....
  4. Holy crap. If coaching a sport at UNT is stressful just think how stressful it would be coaching at a place that took accountability seriously and where his job would be on the line if he didn't win consistently. The expectations here are so low that one winning season gets you a guaranteed extension. Pretty sweet gig really.
  5. How about more than 1 winning record every 10 seasons?
  6. So it sounds like the AD can't do anything about it. Why pay him what he's making then? Get someone cheaper if all the issues we face are out of his control. What the hell do we even need an AD for? WHAT IS HIS JOB?
  7. I agree donations are about helping student athletes. Imagine how many donations we would have helping student athletes if the football and basketball program had consistent winning seasons, the home schedule was on par with other schools with lesser resources, athletic dept. lip service was replaced by action and the programs were marketed properly….
  8. "I love you sooooooo much." -Rick Villarreal But seriously…. We don't need an AD that makes the money this one makes while enjoying this odd form of AD Tenure to make those things happen. No accountability necessary there.
  9. Just out of curiosity, what are the top 3 things you're excited about?
  10. Make no mistake. He's desperate. ........or he should be. With the way things go around here though, maybe he's not.
  11. UAB won't be the last program to pull the plug
  12. Plenty of people have made the case here for a change to be made at the top after 14 years. What's the case for no change? What has this regime shown to convince anyone that UNT Athletics can take the next step? Just an honest question.
  13. I think that is a big misperception about SMU. They do have a few big money donors and they can get 12 people to put up 6-7 figure donations to pay coach salaries….but the athletic department as a whole is not exactly raking it in….
  14. If more people not paid by UNT would do more, we could get better home games….
  15. All good comments. Most of which I agree. I can't help but wonder if the Athletic Department leadership is at work right now.....feeling the pressure of the failures of the past 10+ years. (some successes yes but majority failures) My guess is it's business as usual.... That's the part that has me worried. I have defended this regime for years (mostly out of duty) but those days are gone. I have never cared LESS about UNT athletics than I do now. I severely regret buying those club seats. I used to be miserable on game days because 6:00pm was too long to wait for kickoff. I didn't go to 2 home games this year, forgot what time the UTSA game even started.Used to beg and plead and chastise alumni that ignored UNT, didn't want to go to games, didn't want to get involved...now I can't help but think how much better their time and $ is spent. I've been a season ticket holder for some time but I stopped caring this season and I was liberated.... The only thing motivating me to go to games and dontate now is duty. And I feel this AD expects that. Well I am done with that. I have moved to the "buyer" category. Put me in the camp that thanks the AD but I feel he's gotten us as far as he can. It's time for a change which is pretty much the only thing that will raise my eye brow enough to care about next season. I have Mean Green Fatigue. Does this make me a bad fan? Call me that several years ago and those were fighting words......I simply don't care anymore.
  16. Maybe he heard about the situation here....
  17. "We are trying to get to 16-7 since we opened this stadium. That is pretty amazing considering what we stepped into." I am really sick of hearing that. What you stepped into is a BRAND NEW STADIUM. The excuse making is driving me away from this program. I have never been as apathetic about UNT as I am now. In his 4th year, his teams are not competing with CUSA teams. Year 4. His team looks small, slow and lost on the field. We're getting blown out by teams we blew out last year.....last year's year's team full of seniors that the guy before him that did such an awful job recruited here. And he continuously brings up how bad it was when he got here. I'm just about done with his BS. It's real simple. Your job is to win football games. Period. Win football games or get the hell out of the way.
  18. Agree. Don't really see how this is a rebuilding year with so many juniors and seniors starting. We lose 3/4 of our secondary and most of our OLine next year. 2 units that were supposed to be our strengths this year. We also lose Akunne who was supposed to be the best D player on the team. We have no QB and haven't developed a young QB. Maybe our DLine will hit a growth spurt in the offseason? We supposedly have talented young receivers but who is going to throw to them and who is going to protect him? Most rebuilding years are young players taking their lumps while developing. Don't see that happening a lot here. There a few freshmen sophomores getting playing time but not many.
  19. I'm just watching to see how the bad movie ends now
  20. He got playing time last week but hasn't seen the field tonight And McNulty has been really bad.
