I guess Navy should fire their defensive coordinator too! I mean come on they almost lost to Notre Dame and now North Texas. Get rid of the bum.

The good news is the offense is starting to gel. Everyone thinks the defensive problems are coaching related... Some of the blame has to fall on the players. And if everyone is right that this is just bad coaching, then that is an easy fix.

The opening story on the 6PM CBS news covered racism allegations. CBS was on campus and interviewed 8 players supporting coach Dodge. Craig Roberston, Evan Fentriss, Montey Stevenson, and Tony Teveras spoke on camera. I did not recognize the others. Dominique Green did speak too. Green said it (being racism) was direct at a couple players, then corrected himself and said it was directed at more than a couple players. Montey Stevenson said those players were the problem and the truth was bound to come out. He went on to say they were doing things they were not suppose to be doing and now they are gone and we (being the remaining players) are fine. Tony Teveras said it best, "All he wants to do is make us better men and I commend him for it. He is a great coach." The reported pointed out that one of Dodge's children has an African-American God parent. The coverage was pretty balanced. This whole incident is unfortunate. This is my first and only post on this topic, but felt like the board would like to know. I am sure someone will post the link to the story later. I doubt it is on CBS yet. I will check and post link if so. BEAT NAVY!

Great post Lifer. Everyone needs to calm down. I hate losing. It sucks seeing the offense put the defense in the hole with all the early turnovers. It sucks getting ripped with big running plays. However, I am excited that we are trying new things, installing a new offense and defense. Please tell me we can all give this staff more than five games to pass complete and absolute judgment. Let Dodge have some time to recruit his guys, teach them his system (both offensively & defensively) and see what happens. It is silly to discuss firing any coach at this point.

Plus some "big time" schools will not admit they offered if the recruit picks another school. Big schools don't want to look bad so they say they didn't offer when indeed they did.

The best thing for SMU would be to lose. It would make it an easy decision for the AD to replace Phil B. SMU needs to start over...

That is shocking. Who wants to win with fans like that. If I was the Rutgers coach, a player or a university leader I would walk over to the student section and tell the to shut the hell up. How is that allowed to go on without be checked in some fashion by school leaders? The article makes it sound like a regular occurrence at home games.

Maybe Vizza never sees the flied, but unlikely. Injuries, losing streak, assuming Riley comes here, tons of assumptions to say Vizza never sees playing time as the starter during his NT career.

I do not doubt quality of the music and marching performance. Not many bands compete with us musically. I still think presentation (visual) is important. I agree, let us know about this in May so we can raise some money. I would love to stroke a check for new shorts, unfortunately I don't have that type of cash.

The D has 2 weeks to get ready. The secondary needs guys at the corner position. They are getting torched. Of course some pressure from the D-lineman would help. I am not sure it will get much better this year. Unless I am wrong, we did not really sign many on the defensive side of the ball.

Shirts looked better this week. Shorts of all shades and styles leaves something to be desired. My question is for 2 straight weeks the home team's band managed to be in full uniform, why can't we wear ours? I understand the safety issue raised last week, so am I to believe OU & SMU don't care about their students!?

It wasn't Rich who called us Southlake, it was the other broadcaster. A total of 4 references and Rich did point it out late in the game.

IT IS GAME #2 of Dodge's NT career... The program is going through tremendous change. I want to win, but I am going to give Dodge some time before I start complaining about losing under his helm.

Truly unbelievable... to complain about the lack of a running game. We have a true freshman at tailback in a new offense. Give the ground game and the very young offensive line a little time.

I know it is the Ticket broadcast, but I would expect a professional game presentation. Calling us Southlake is bush league.

Looks worse than the band uniforms at the OU game! Just kidding. These jersey suck as a replica. Not kidding! I was waiting for this day. What a big disappointment.

When I purchased my NT/OU tickets online through the NT site it showed row 1, seats 3 & 4. I received row 30, seats 18 & 19 in the mail. Did anyone else have this happen to them?

I have always thought we could put more in the landscaping. I am glad to see some of the progess being made, especially in front of Willis. That building is so plain. IMO we need to do much more on the outer edges of the campus since it is what most people see when they come to a game. If I ever come across serious money, count me down for a major contribution for landscaping around our new football stadium. At this rate, I might come across serious money before we get our new stadium! And whatever we do as a university, plant more oak trees. We won't get to enjoy them to the fullest in our lifetime, but let's leave something for the future Mean Green!

Almost gone, but not entirely. Mike Rhyner of the Ticket always calls us North Texas State. It has become his signature line about The Univeristy of North Texas.

Memphis should worry about their next game and not about a comment from NT fan. I don't see anyone here bashing the Memphis' team or anyone being mad about losing. Of course we are dissapointed, but say we are mad is misguided. Congrats on the win and enjoy your tourney run. You will probably have to get by A&M and Ohio St.
