OSU is getting torched by Marquette... On the good side of things for OSU at least they are in Hawaii.

We are better than LSU. I have a buddy that went to LSU. His comments are they are terrible.

My comments had nothing to do with not liking this team. I am very proud of the team and very excited about the season. Am I not allowed to comment on a couple areas of concern?

The students were great. I loved the chant Hoosier rejects... Keep up the work! Saturday afternoon without football and that was all the alums that show up? Pathetic. One other item of note... Did anyone see the guy working in the concession wearing the OU shirt? I believe he was one of the parents of the Denton Ryan students working there. I went back at halftime and someone must have given him a NT shirt because suddenly he was in green. I am glad he had the sense to change or that someone with the school had him change. I was really irked when I first saw him and was thinking of hunting RV down and telling him about it.

There are two things that I worry about with this team... 1. Lack of depth behind Wooden 2. The number of turnovers The bad news is #1 can't be fixed till next season with recruiting. The good news is we can cut down on the turnovers. Quick topic change - If Indiana State had made their open 3's this would have been a very different game. They were really cold from the outside.

I know I am getting a little ahead of things, but does anyone know if you can buy tickets online? I went the UTA website, but could not find where to purchase single game tickets. Any help would be appreciated. Since their place only holds 4,200 we need to fill it with green.

However, I do have it on good authority Santa will make a brief appearance to check on which UNT fans have been naughty or nice. I think the tourney play against Memphis was very helpful tonight. We had a very respectable showing against the Tigers and I can only think that helped the pre game confidence of the returning players.

I noticed he kept touching his mouth during the game. I thought he has a busted lip. He is the real deal.

I was there representing! Yes, I am an alum. Yes, I stood up. Yes, I yelled for the team! I was in section 106.

The celebration after the game was fine. I am not sure I agree with we should have expected to win because OSU is young? We have 2 freshmen starting at the guard positions - so I would say we are pretty young too. Let's make sure the celebration is held up by taking care of business by beating Indiana St this Saturday. OSU had a nice showing. We need to travel well too when we play UTA later in the season. It was a great crowd and I sense if we starting winning, The Pit will be packed with students and alum. The UNT community (Denton, students and alum) is so hungry for a team to through all of their support behind. I know it is early, but I am really excited about this team.

The chant was funny from the students. Imagine what they will hear in Big 12 conference play. Of course I was surrounded by OSU fans so I had to act like... oh those silly students will chant anything. Students, KEEP IT UP! I hope to get some more folks from Denton too supporting the school. I would love to see more alum at the game, but I can understand during a week night it is tough. I live in Keller and left at 6 got home at 10. Not too bad, but I don't have kids to contend with. We all need to show our support on Saturday at 2. And that Josh White kid... wow! At the beginning of the game I was like a freshman without height... The OSU guards towered over him, but man, he is a player. Clutch free throws! Great game!

That is never called, even at the high school level... Terrible calls, but the not reason we lost. Edited to include the word not.

My point exactly. Who do we have a realistic shot at getting to run the defense? It is easy to say anybody could do better, but who? I don't know how loyal Dodge is to his staff, but I don't think he will go down for one of his coaches. If the defensive coach really is the problem, I think Dodge would replace him.

By the way, I think Dodge originally tried to hire Anybody, but he turned us down. Seriously, who should we target as a replacement? This seems to be the direction everyone wants to take this. Candidates?

I can't tell the nuances of a zone, cover two, press coverage, etc. I do believe others on this board can, but not as many that proclaim to know. What I do know is the results we see with this coach and these players are not acceptable. However, I do trust that the head coach will do what is necessary. If that is telling Mendoza to run a different scheme or firing him or telling him to resign, that is Dodge's call. Don't misunderstand my comments of giving this staff a couple of recruiting classes as a free pass or whitewashing the results.

So we fire Mendoza and replace him with who? You seem to know which defensive schemes work, so the solution should be easy. Hire a coach with a proven college scheme. Please shed some light on this coach in the college ranks.

Have you consider for one second that maybe, just maybe Navy's WR & linemen had a little to do with our DBs not being effective. Oh wait, I forgot, winning and losing is all coaching. Please excuse all the players. Thanks for pointing out this is a North Texas board. We could never let college football comparisons ever creep into our discussions...

Notre Dame had 2 weeks too. I guess Charlie Weiss & his staff are really just a bunch of high coaches too. Let's fire the entire staff. Let's all calm down, recognize our improvements and areas we need to fix. Can we give this coaching staff a couple classes before we call for their heads?
