  1. I wholeheartedly disagree. McNulty was just as dreadful as Greer in Austin, maybe even more so. If given the same leash as McNulty, I believe Josh could've been just as successful as Andy in the final 6 games of the season.
  2. I truly wish I could see how last season would've went if McNulty had beat out Greer in Fall Camp. My main curiosity would be how short McNulty's leash would've been. After McNulty faltered. Would Greer have finished the season with unwavering support from his head coach or would McNulty been put back in? If McNulty wins the job, does Thrilly D ever even see the field against LaTech?
  3. as a tight end.... He never played qb for Iowa, had to transfer after being moved to defense. He then played a year at qb for the Kansas college that brought us Woody Wilson. Then walked-on his RS-Jr season as a backup qb for Arkansas, started 1 game due to injured starter. Moved to tight end the following year. Derby's HS stats--1,820 yards and 23 touchdowns in leading team to state title as a senior . . . also rushed 142 times for 752 yards . He was touted because of his prototypical size, not because of he was Walter Camp's gift to quarterbacking. McNulty-Threw for 1,438 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior and added 1,137 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground
  4. 100% correct. 4 wins, 5 losses, you have a better record than any qb that played for us last year. Well done sir.
  5. A valiant effort. I know you got the first one correct and the last one incorrect. I will let you know how you scored in the middle tomorrow morning. You are very close but those are both incorrect.
  6. This tired discussion drives me bananas. Following AJ Derby does not make him AJ Derby! Go to his rivals page, I beg you, and click on the three similar quarterbacks on the right side of the page and see where they ended up playing college ball(best I've seen is the 3rd stringer at Troy, a rs-sr playing behind a juco sr and a rs-soph.). He is not a FBS quarterback. If he is, please tell me what school other than ours had any serious interest in his services as a qb. The suggestion of Iowa is laughable, that just isn't true. He has only "paid his dues" and "deserves his shot" because he was not moved to wr or db like he should've been. Below are some high school quarterbacks that have passed through Mean Green Land. High School: 1. As a senior, he threw for 3,150 yards along with 30 touchdowns compared to nine interceptions. 2. Was a first-team All-District quarterback in 2011 passing for 2,691 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior 3. Threw for 2,418 yards and 29 touchdowns and added six scores on the ground as a senior 4. Completed 155-of-224 passes for 1,911 yards, 18 TD's as a senior, also rushed for 833 yards on 109 carries and nine TD's 5. Offensive co-MVP with a current Dallas Cowboy wr his Sr. year 1331 rushing 1688 passing 25 total tds 6.Threw for 1,618 yards and 15 touchdown passes while rushing for 508 yards and five touchdowns as a senior. 7. Threw for 1,438 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior and added 1,137 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground 8. Threw for 1,325 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 592 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior 9. As a junior, in the final three games of the season he threw for 832 yards and seven touchdowns while rushing for 305 yards and five touchdowns. Without cheating try and match these names with their own quarterbacking stats. Chumley, McNulty, Greer, Means, D.Smith, Derek Teegarden, Cooper Jones, Chase Baine, Dajon Williams
  7. This has to be a kick in the nads for players like Jakii Moore who were forced to leave the program to continue playing football. The program is now coming back without them and they'd lose a year of eligibility if they went back.
  8. ‌@10Eagle10 Using your rankings, this season looks even more difficult that I initially imagined. Portland St is the only one I could confidently mark in the win column at this point. The SMU game will be very telling.
  9. He will never answer the strikethrough questions. He would answer question 3 if rephrased. The other 2 you're good.
  10. 13. This is the last year that Andrew McNulty will be the standard of measure for Mean Green quarterbacks. Fixed it for ya.
  11. Yes, that's why he didn't know which was which.
  12. ‌@oldguystudent Hey bud, I had the same problem, you have to type the @‌ sign wait a sec and then type the first letter and wait until it starts bringing up names, then continue the process.
  13. @EagleGreen I feel your pain. Our problem is that despite how weak or strong our schedule this year is, our schedule last year was significantly weaker. We won just 4 games and the coaching staff has given no indication of any changes they've made to improve upon our performance last year. I know Cosh replaced Skladany(who I thought was fantastic), but that isn't going to repair our anemic offense that will have the same bus driver and playcalls as last year. ‌
  14. I just remember Coach Mac talking about Brelan and Byrd and said many times you get a player you wouldn't otherwise want in order to get a teammate you really want. He said with those two he couldn't tell which was which. If that was the case in this scenario, I'd guess Smith is the one they really wanted and recruiting his center helped seal that deal. I'm not saying that is what happened here, just saying its possible.
  15. Yep, same dude that thought it wise to move the system offices away from the flagship university. Group 1: UT System = Austin A&M System = College Station Texas Tech System = Lubbock Group 2: UNT System ≠ Denton Texas State System ≠ San Marcos UH System ≠ Houston I think Lee Jackson moved us to the wrong group.
  16. I hope this in no way negatively influences his Butler teammate's career here with us at North Texas.
  17. Looking back at the names going around when we hired him, (Don Carthel-fired by WTAMU in '13; Mike Schultz-asst at SWTSU-SM; Todd Dodge-HC at Westlake; Sonny Dykes-HC at Cal; Bruce Chambers-asst. AD at Arlington ISD; Pat Sullivan-resigned at Samford '14; Curtis Modkins-RB coach at Detroit Lions; Todd-Berry-ULM HC; Jerry Glanville-resigned Portland State '09)), he wasn't the worst hire we could have made. Despite Harbaugh and Jimbo being tossed around as names here, they ended up at Stanford and FSU so no, they weren't seriously coming here. Hell of a speaker and fundraiser. If I may be so bold as to say, without Dodge's help we do not get Apogee, which in turn means we do not get McCarney.
  18. Throwback for the guys not around for uniform-gate. This thread is why I preferred Dodge over Dickey despite the W-L record.
  19. Don't forget the state portion of the sales and hotel taxes pay for some of that new development within designated "zones".
  20. We've only beaten them once (1922 I think) on their home field, I think it is time for us to do it again. They've never beaten us at our place. Also, if you only look at the series post-death penalty, the series is even at 3 games a piece.
