  1. OSU playing NT at the Cotton Bowl during the State Fair. Why not? There will soon be an opening at the Cotton Bowl in the fall.
  2. How far from the truth do you have to go to run Dodge down? We could have Matthew Stafford, Colt McCoy and Sam Bradford here and you'd still complain that the cupboard was bare. We have Riley Dodge, two time player of the year in Class 5A and one of the most herald recruits in NT's recent history. Why will he be unable to do the job? Please give me one good reason other than your hatred of Todd Dodge, Riley Dodge, Dodge trucks, etc...? In one line you complain that T. Dodge didn't bring in a JUCO for insurance, and then in the next sentence you state the QB will be throwing to inexperienced receivers, two of which are JUCO transfers and one other an OU transfer. So, are JUCO QB transfers experienced and ready to go, but JUCO receivers aren't? How about two years ago when everyone was crying over the graduation of Johnny Quinn. Seems to me a little known walk-on stepped up and led the way. I would be pretty comfortable in stating that one or two or our WR's will do the same this year. You should take the path of most lawyers and go in to politics. You switch your story to suit your needs more often than Silver Eagle punches offensive coorinators!
  3. I agree, but TFLF is predicting failure. He doesn't think Riley has the talent to be a FBS quarterback and I disagree. I also believe the every coach would prefer not to start a freshman or redshirt freshman at QB if he has the time to let them develop physically for a year or two.
  4. None, other than he should have never de-classified the memos. I think our enemie should be scared to death of us, earned or not, and anything to weaken our defenses/national security should never be considered. Obama is quickly learning that his campaign promises are going to be hard to keep.
  5. What's the scare tactic? Just pointing out Obama will have and is having a difficult time living up to many of his campaign promises.
  6. He promises to tune in once FC Dallas scores a goal. Don't expect him to tune in.
  7. Winning doesn't give one free reign to be a jackass. I love the Mavericks in spite of Cuban, but at times am ashamed to admit it.
  8. Patience? Patience? Are we really talking about patience? What does a writer for College Football News know about being patient over a bunch of casual fans? He's got to be kidding, right?
  9. Keep on comparing who we recruit to the likes of who UT, OU, etc... recruit. It's not the same and probably never will be. Riley Dodge was a two time Class 5A POY and the best recruit we've had in a long, long time. I have a feeling he is going to shock a lot of people, in a good way, over his four year career.
  10. I couldn't agree more, but why is this thought not shared with every recruit? I'm not pointing you out emmit, just those that stated that Hall is too light, slow, etc... to play QB in college when he is only 17 and still has at least 2 years to physically develop. How many of you were the same size your second year in college as you were when you were a Jr. in high school? Prime example is Adrian Awasome. I seem to recall he weighed around 215-225 when he signed his LOI.
  11. Well, how many kids do we actually sign that have a realistic shot at the NFL as compared to Tennessee? I know what you are trying to do, but it is not an apples to apples comparison. Many kids sign with NT hoping to get a shot at the NFL and realizing that this is probably their last 4-5 years of football and a means to pay for their education, make lasting memories, etc... I would be all of the kids that sign with Tennessee expect to be drafted by the NFL and when things don't work out like they want, change in coaching philosophy, drop down the depth chart, etc..., they look elsewhere to fullfil this expectation as opposed to facing reality and pursuing their studies to prepare for life after football(Russo).
  12. No. I would rather win conference on a regular basis and let Troy, FAU, or whoever ride our coat tails and cash checks we earn for them.
  13. They reinstituted the color red in to their uniforms this year. Coincidence? I think not.
  14. Honestly, I grinned at your comment but laughed out loud at SUMG's. Jeff Agoos? Really!? Not to demean the man, but what were his career stats?
  15. Future UNT Hoopster Dazzles at Regional Track Meet
  16. I guess I wasn't very clear in the point I was trying to make. I do not think the program as a whole has the depth it needs at every position. The one position's depth that I feel comfortable with is the offensive line. With Santiago, Johnson, Feely, Gill, Drake, Menard, Tomlinson, Bean, Hollivay, Jenkins, Bailey?, Leppo, etc... I think OL depth is not an issue and allows the coaching staff to develop these young men. I also think the depth a RB and WR are becoming strengths with the DB's close behind. DL and LB need to come around.
  17. Really? Here a two segments of their article that would seem to differ from your opinion: They are just realistic about how young QB's need time to develop. I, shockingly, have agreed with many of your recent posts, but I think your dislike of anything Dodge is creating a bias towards how you read things. Please tell me how many freshmen or RS freshmen QB's have been an immediate success in college and haven't suffered through some "growing pains."
  18. No need to with Santiago, Johnson, Feely, Gill, etc... being underclassmen. Let's bring Graylin in and let him develop his first year or two like most good programs with depth are able to do.
  19. I love that helmet and uniform. Heck, anything is better than our current helmet.
  20. I agree. It never made sense to me why NT didn't have a competitive track team with the talent in the Metroplex.
  21. I'm not trying to be evil, I'm just trying to let the young man develop. It seems assumptions are being made both ways.
  22. I'll have to disagree with your point in bold: Gilmore: UTEP, Houston, Syracuse recruited him also, to name a few. DeSoto: Missouri and Navy also offered Hawthorne: Offered by UTEP and Buffalo, interest from TCU, Baylor and Ga. Tech, to name a few. Franklin: Offered by Tulsa and Colorado State, recruited by Arkansas, OU, OSU, Purdue, Tech and A&M Atkinsin: Recruited by WVA, Tulsa and Arkansas. Tyler Washington: Offered by UTEP, La Tech and SMU. Recruited by TCU, Arizona, Houston and Iowa
  23. Honest question. If this young man is rated as a Top 25 QB, has the height, needs to add weight but is only a Jr. in high school so that will naturally come and played well at the Elite 11 camp, why plan on moving him. Why not wait and see how he develops physically and as a QB?
