  1. My comments in bold. Alzee is really missed, the remainders are all unproven.
  2. Substitute "man to man" for "zone" in the quote above and you've described this year's team.
  3. No green or black pants...now we're talking off-season!
  4. I don't think Abbe had an injury, in fact I heard he was down in the 330's.
  5. Fair enough. By the way, as you well know, Boeheim"s specialty is the 2-3. There are other zones than this, he's just perfected the 2-3. Either way, I'm afraid this team is done for this year, and I too, hate to see Odufuwa, Thompson, White and Johnson go out like this.
  6. Regarding beating anyone of note, this year or years past, are we to continually be pleased with 20 wins against poor competition, winning the conference championship/tournament and then getting blasted in the first round of the dance? Been there, done that. It is time we raised our expectations. Are you pleased with us getting beat by 20 by a Southland Conference school, SHSU, and being pleased with a close win or loss against UTA every year? We should be way ahead of of any of these schoolsN but we arent and there is no excuse for this.
  7. Sorry, I fail to believe a D1 coach can't teach D1 athletes to be proficient in a zone. Since I've never had the pleasure to meet you, I played basketball for years and was the son of a coach, so I do know a little something about the game. I really respect your knowledge and passion for the game, but I just don't think this team was ever as good as a lot of us, including me, thought it was. No leader, lack of discipline, and at times, gasp, poorly coached.
  8. Responding from my phone, so I don't have the option to respond directly to your post while sighting them in mine. CMJ, your repsonse about this year's schedule being like any Other NT schedule, to me, is an example of an excuse for this team's performance, or lack thereof. The seniors on this team should be leading us with their experience, but instead Thompson is in and out of the doghouse for lack of effort in practice and is a defensive liability. White has virtually disappeared in the second half of this season, and we still run a plauground, undisciplined offense that good teams, and a lot of bad ones this year, take advantage of.
  9. Sorry, but I learned 5 different zone defenses, as well as man to man, as a sixth grader. It is not that difficult.
  10. In another post, I dissected our schedule and it boiled down to a bunch os wins against sub-par teams and losses to bad teams. I'll find it later and repost it if you like. Tech is bad, LSU is bad, hammering La-La and then getting hammered by them, an embarrassing loss on national television to WKU. Please show me one good win this year. Sorry for my pessimism, but I was just as guilty as many on this board getting caught up in the run to open the season. Please look at our schedule and show me the wins against good opponents.
  11. Two games is not near enough. We should change up our defense much more than a couple of games in 25! With all due respect, stop making excuses.
  12. Not one win against a good opponent this year. Our record is an aberration. This team has been done for two weeks. Another poor loss with no answers in site. Playground offense with nothing that resembles a defense gets you nowhere. Why have we not gone to a zone this year is beyond me.
  13. Josh with 1 point and Johnson scoreless in the first half and still tied. Would have never guessed that with a combined one point between those two.
  14. I wish them the best of luck and am glad to see Sun Belt schools making upgrades.
  15. I am happy with the win, but for us to pull out a win, at home, in the last minutes, against a sub .500 team still concerns me.
  16. So did Walter Priestly. I wasn't aware of Pearl.
  17. The first play in the video, which is NT with 3rd and 5. DD gives up and runs it to the short side of the field for no gain and Bazaldua hammers a 47 yard FG that would have been good from 57. Why don't you take a shot down the field? Then again, DD probably figured they had watched hours of film on us and were expecting a draw!
  18. I miss the playcalling. The very first play run is a weak side pitch on 3rd and 5. Wait, no I don't.
  19. Thanks for the clarification. Wonder if he is still inclined to offer. Goldfield Ballpark sounds nice.
  20. Al Goldfield offered $1.5 million to start the program.
  21. Here's the starting offense from the KSU game: LT 64 Gill, Victor LG 70 Feeley, Coleman C 60 Fortenberry, A. RG 77 Santiago, E. RT 72 Tomlinson, Matt WR 14 Stradford, T. WR 19 Carey, Darius WR 15 Jackson, Jamaal TE 92 Ross, Draylen RB 5 Dunbar, Lance QB 11 Dodge, Riley We only have to replace Gill and Santiago on the line, and with starting center JJohnson returning moving Fortenberry most likely to RG, we only have to replace one tackle from the KSU game. I think Dunbar will have a fantastic year.
  22. None taken. I couldn't think of another way to say it. This game could actually be similar to the Navy scorefest.
  23. Love The Ticket references. Disturbing, but funny.
