  1. Couldn't you just take 2 vehicles in at the same time, park next to each other, start to set up, and move the extra vehicle out of the orange lot to somewhere else on campus. This will give you the open space you would need. Just a thought. I plan on getting out there at 11:00 AM Saturday. Last year, the tailgate for the first home game was unbelievable, and I plan on spending every minute possible on Saturday at Fouts and its surrounding Mean Green faithful!
  2. Woo hoo! Time to celebrate. Give me a beer!
  3. Well said and good points, BleeedGreen64.
  4. The flags look great. Just an idea: Try to find those SLC fans wanting to see Dodge's first game in the Metroplex and sell them some UNT spirit wear. It's not like they can't afford it!
  5. I have no idea how many tickets our athletic department has sold. After reading ponyfans.com, they are anticipating a light crowd at the game Saturday. This is a perfect opportunity for North Texas fans to outnumber SMU fans at their house. We know how well our fans showed up against SMU last year (although it was a little short of a sellout). If you have not bought your tickets yet, make plans to attend this game! Even if you have to buy tickets through the SMU ticket office. This is a huge, huge, statement game for our football team as well as our fan base. Let's win on the scoreboard and at the turnstiles! Don't forget to wear your green! Score Prediction: North Texas 34, SMU 14 Attendance Prediction: North Texas 15K SMU 10K Go Mean Green!!!
  6. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dw...de.29f4930.html Read the story, then vote North Texas!
  7. I'm not sure about this, but I don't think they can show the games if they are on TV already. Plus, doesn't the home team (or conference) have broadcast rights to the games. If Oklahoma (or the Big 12) already sold the rights to the game to FSN, that is likely the only place you can watch the game.
  8. FSNSW is Ch. 643 on DirecTV. It is on nationally, so it should be on a dozen channels or so between 620-660. Hope this helps. I believe a lot of sports channels are purchased in separate packages with FSN, so I hope you bought that package. If not, you may need to make a phone call!
  9. We will have the game on at T. J. Hartford's in Lewisville, in addition to the $2.50 20oz domestic drafts all day Saturday and Sunday during football season. It is our "A" game during the 6:00 time slot, so it will be on the most TV's. We'll have 16 total games on TV on Saturday, so feel free to stop by anytime. Go Mean Green!
  10. Here is the Sun Belt conference TV schedule: http://www.sunbeltsports.org/ViewArticle.d...;ATCLID=1104390 The only North Texas game on national TV is this weekend vs. Oklahoma. The other games will likely be available on ESPN GamePlan. Hope this helps!
  11. By the way, does anyone know how many tickets North Texas has sold for this game?
  12. Section 225 Row 19, Seats 1-6 Row 20, Seats 1-5
  13. From my experience, 88.1 doesn't even come in very well in North Dallas, let alone south of Dallas.
  14. We have a total of 27 TV's throughout the restaurant, so you'll be able to watch the game in a smoking or non-smoking environment. Many thanks go out to Mark from the Exes, Jamie from the athletic department, and everyone else who helped put this event together. We had a great time hosting the event and would love to do something similar in the future.
  15. Don't forget to wear your green!
  16. No. The event will be held in the very front area just to the right of the front door. Anyone entering the restaurant will be able to see the activities when they first walk in. See everyone there!
  17. This is the official roll call thread. Saturday from 1-6PM at T. J. Hartford's Grill and Bar in Lewisville. Hope to get a chance to meet a lot of you there! So, who's going? http://www.meangreensports.com/ViewArticle...CRIBER_CONTENT=
  18. Not sure if anyone saw it, but there was an article in the Denton RC this morning about this event. I can't seem to find it online; if someone does, would you mind posting the link? Thanks.
  19. Kram, The more we have this Saturday, the more likely we are to do events like this in the future. Show up in force and let's it again soon!
  20. Are you speaking for yourself or someone else? So, who plans on heading out on Saturday?
  21. As far as I'm concerned, there isn't one. I doubt the cheerleaders will care much either.
  22. This should really be a great event for everyone! Kudos go out to Jamie with the athletic department and Mark from the NT Exes in helping us at T. J. Hartford's to make this happen. We'll have $1.25 domestic drafts, $2 wells, and half-price margaritas until 6:00. And don't forget to wear a North Texas shirt or hat, so that you can get your free chips & salsa. North Texas cheerleaders will also be at the event placing cheek tattoos on kids and Scrappy will be there as well (the kids are going to love this!) And don't forget that kid's can play nickel games in our gameroom with any kid's meal purchase. Sorry if this post got too salesy. We are very excited to welcome the entire UNT community in to our restaurant on the 18th. As a Mean Green fan and NT Exes member myself, this will just be a spectacular event! Hope to see you there!
  23. My buddies and I are hoping to break out all of our tailgating supplies for the Sept. 8th game at SMU. It seems that all of the lots at SMU are for season ticket holders or are $80 to reserve a spot. Does anyone know of anywhere you can just bring your car and tailgate similar to what we do at home games? Is anyone planning on tailgating at the SMU game? Thanks for the help!!! This is an article from the DMN (I believe this has already been posted here on GMG) If you tailgate at SMU in Dallas the place where the crowds - and the best parties - are is the Boulevard. This past season for $80 you got a spot in the center median and were in the middle of the action. Well, this season things are changing. That $80 spot for 2007 will be (are you sitting?) $480. If you want a spot north of Binkley you'll shell out $675 - $725, the latter if you want an adjacent parking spot. Why the 600% increase? Well, according to the SMU Daily Campus: Associate athletic director for Marketing and Public Relations, Richard Sweet, said the cost to have a "highly coveted spot on the Boulevard was ridiculously undervalued." "Like any business, you don't provide a winning production on the field without paying for it," Sweet said of the price increase. Okay, I understand that tailgating is a privilege and I don't have a problem paying for that privilege, but let's be reasonable. I haven't been to an SMU game in years (although I went as a kid growing up in Dallas, but that was before they were hit with the Death Penalty - yeah, I'm an old man) but if you take Mr. Sweet's "winning production on the field" line as justification is 600% reasonable? Since the turn of the century the Mustangs have gone 3-9, 4-7, 3-9, 0-12, 3-8, 5-6, and 6-6. The tailgating on the Boulevard is good but it's not like tailgating at some of SMU's neighboring schools in the Big XII. Am I off base here? According to the article Mr. Sweet thinks I am: Sweet equated the price hike to a person working with a personal trainer. He said you don't pay after you lose the 40 pounds and get the results you want, you have to pay up front.
  24. The Sun Belt site does not list this game as being televised. On the Navy athletic site, they list all of their other games being televised except for the North Texas game: http://navysports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl...otbl-sched.html
  25.
