  1. If Army turns down offer to join AAC it will go to Texas State.
  2. We need the AAC to beat the Sun Belt today.
  3. Over 40k in attendance. Who would have ever predicted this 10 years ago. 5 years ago? 2 years ago?
  4. So that is what you derived from my statement? 🤯
  5. So, and that’s a big so, if we don’t have the athletes needed to run a 3-3-5 then why are we paying an individual $475k a year who obviously doesn’t know, recognize or understand that very fact? Furthermore, why are we paying an individual $1 million a year who not only hired that individual but also allowed him to install this 3-3-5 knowing we did not have the athletes needed to succeed. Or, did he know?
  6. Back in the 70’s I would drive up many times from South Oak Cliff after work on a Friday night to attend a North Texas pep rally. Fry would be on a about 1 foot high small wooden platform on the south side of Kerr Hall encouraging the 80 or so fans to support the team at Saturdays game. This was at a time when many students were pushing to abolish the football program. I would drive up again Saturday for the game by myself because I couldn’t get anyone to go. Same for basketball. Fry is the best Coach this University has ever had bar none and the Administration would not support him. Not at all. He left and is now in the College Hall of Fame Dr. Hurley a great academic President allowed the school to drop to 1aa football. Many on this board recognize and claim this as the most damaging move the Administration could have ever made and point to this failure as the reason for our lack of real success to this present day. Helwig banning tailgating and changing our school colors, adding blue and orange. The Dodge hire and allowing him to bring his high school defensive coordinator and coaches. Enough said. Trilli, Benford. Enough said Allowing Rick Villarreal to stick around for 15 years. Enough said Instead or hiring a young, vibrant enthusiastic head coach we hire an aged coach clearly on his way out, McCarney, and pay a 1.3 million buyout. Or was it 2.3? We next hire an unproven head coach in Littrell allowing him to learn on the job, get hoodwinked in contract negotiations because of our lack of knowledge and understanding and then can not fire him at a crucial time for the program because of the huge buyout we agreed to. I’m on this board because I fell in love with NORTH TEXAS the first time I laid eyes on it in the Fall of 1969. I’ve listed a few of the foolish and damaging decisions this Administration has made over the years that has stymied the success of our programs. I’m sure there are more. You can label me a fatalist if you want, that’s fine, but actually I’m a realist and believe it or not an optimist. I can put on the green glasses and I have at times. I love this school more than any employee ever will. Most on this board do. But if we want this program to excel beyond our wildest dreams then all of us need to take off the green glasses, see and tell the truth and hold those making huge salaries accountable for failure by not being timid or afraid to speak out and tell it like it is.
  7. I’m not going anywhere until the Lord calls me home.
  8. You’re so disingenuous. I’ve been following UNT football before you were born. Don’t you ever post a negative comment again least you be called a hypocrite.
  9. We had our chance. Stupid decisions over the last 20 years sealed our fate. We are the doormat. It is what it is. We are NORTH TEXAS!!
  10. I wouldn’t be surprised if that game drew 48,000-53,000. They are close and rivals. It is climate controlled. Big opportunity for Texas St to claim bragging rights. We’ll see.
  11. We deserve NOTHING and we are getting what we rightly deserve.
  12. That’s a great point. Makes it even more disheartening concerning his hiring.
  13. And yet even after many winning seasons, a CIT Title, 3 conference Titles and an NIT Championship the students, alumni and city of Denton never supported the program to the degree it’s success warranted.
  14. What’s really really sad is that we had a head coach that indeed won and for many years. Even won an NIT. He won an NIT!!!! And yet the students and Denton NEVER supported that success by showing up.
  15. Morris was familiar with the PAC and familiar with Cal. If he and his staff had done their homework he would have been aware of their size, speed and strength and devised a game plan to try and counter those advantages. He didn’t. Furthermore, considering our lack of size and as the head coach he should have told his DC to ditch the 3 man front long before Spring practice. It seriously makes you wonder why all the last second transfers out of here. I was a strong advocate for the hiring of Morris. I have serious doubts now.
  16. If Morris needs to adapt after the first game then he was the wrong hire from the get go. It’s as simple as that.
  17. Look, we are North Texas. Better get use to it and just accept it. We are bush league. Always will be. After 53 years of following this mess I’ve finally decided to just accept this fact. We are the school from across the tracks. Nothing more than a wannabe. Accept it.
  18. Some coaches do not have a lot of experience? They know they need to learn quickly. Unbelievable! So more on the job training. I thought we were way past this bush league crap. So, this is a 3-4 year rebuild project. Unbelievable.
  19. You don’t understand. You get 6-7 years at UNT to show improvement before you might get fired. This is what makes UNT so attractive to coaches.
