4 teams from AAC agree to leave?
meangreenbob replied to Tommy Gadberry's topic in Conference ReAlignment
FOOD FOR THOUGHT. So if four teams leave the AAC for a new PAC, how long does it last? The ACC is still in turmoil. There are more major changes still coming in realignment. -

I said in another thread awhile back that this could happen, that Aresco would take a few schools and become commissioner of the new PAC. Anyone remember? Hope I am wrong. -

Let me think. 🤔 SMU, Memphis, UTSA, Tulane. The PAC doesn’t want or need any of the other schools Can we say Sun Belt……we’re back- 180 replies

1) It was financially difficult to buy them out because we lacked the wisdom, insight and knowledge to negotiate quality contracts to begin with. We were foolish 2) none of those former coaches were quality hires. The one that hurt us the most, that caused the most damage was Littrell. 3) UTSA outsmarted UNT. Football is king and that’s where USTA placed their bet. Some mock the lack of success for their other sports but that can change quickly if included in the new conference with better exposure and income. 4) some of you mock and criticize the state of their off campus “climate controlled”football facility. Let’s see how the Cal game plays out for us. Pray for a cold front. We were outsmarted. Their people were and are smarter than our people. I said time was of the essence. I was serious. Oh, let’s not forget the fact that they really have no competition for the entertainment dollar, are located in a tourist city with the Alamo and Riverwalk and a location easy to reach by air travel.

I graduated from North Texas State. I wish we were still North Texas State. I think it looks good (better) and was more recognized then people want to admit. Hence the years it has taken to distance ourselves from the name and not all of those past references over the years were negative or meant to degrade the university. We should have stayed with NTSU! But not a big fan of the flying worm.

I am starting to think this may really be happening!

Well, actually I never “alluded” to some kind of insider information concerning AAC expansion. That’s your perception. All we have is hearsay, speculation and sports rhetoric. Before we get all giddy let’s get the facts. We live in a world where common sense and logic are cast aside and replaced by the need for control, power and greed which can lead to foolish and insane decisions. There are too many twist and turns yet ahead of us. Sorry if you thought I was keeping insider information from you Go Mean Green -

I guess SMU is basically offering to pimp itself out, giving the ACC access to DFW but for no charge. 😂 -

And that my friends tells you everything you need to know about the character and integrity of that institution. They really need to drop the Methodist from their name. -
Our QB? Just over 3 weeks left

I also think Stone Earle has the talent and mindset to start this season -
What’s happening to college football right now is a reflection of what’s happening in the world. Everyone is jockeying for position as the world moves closer to a centralized government based on power, greed and control. Thats exactly what’s going on with all this realignment in college football. Power, greed and control. But it’s actually futile because it’s really all temporary. It won’t last and it won’t succeed. However, there’s no reason not to take the family to the games and have fun as long as there’s still football at any level. GO MEAN GREEN. And yes, time is of the essence. It always was.

No one watched the PAC when it had the so called big schools. By the time the PAC comes on at night many people are burned out on football after watching it from 11:am. People are either partying or going to bed. Adding the best of the MWC isn’t going to somehow miraculous awe the networks into offering some upgraded TV deal. Ain’t going to happen.
