So, I received an email from the Athletic Department at 9:15 this morning, 12-1-22 with the Header reading; “UNT Basketball host Omaha 11-29-22” Let that sink in.

Maybe they’re after Grant because there is really nothing remotely impressive a P5 would see concerning our football program.

You sure Baker made that decision?

Listen, I’m not saying that any of these above issues had anything to do with Baker’s departure. But if Baker really loved being here, believed the future looked bright entering the AAC and the University countered WV’s offer( though we don’t know how much) wouldn’t you maybe lean toward staying? Unless the work environment had become somewhat toxic. Yes, I know and understand we are comparing P5 to G5. Anyway we probably will never know. It just seems Baker wanted out and wanted out fast. What we do know is the environment and the game day experience at Apogee this year was anemic. Like it was totally neglected. Stale. Worse I’ve seen in decades One area where Baker totally failed was not taking advantage of the BB programs success under Grant. Benford had destroyed everything Johnny Jones had built. Grant quickly turned it around winning the CBI his first year. Beat Purdue in the NCAA tournament and participated in the NIT, won THREE CUSA TITLES and yet the fans have not really returned, not to the degree one would expect with the programs success under Grant. Where was the AD? Why was he not out promoting the hell out of this program? Regardless, this is one long time fan who has lost faith in this Administration’s leadership in the area of Athletics.

BMDS, RV and the NIL, and Teflon Littrell. 🤔 He who owns the gold makes the rules.

Yep. We should probably prepare ourselves for UNT basketball without Grant. Now, if being close to family really is important to Grant, and knowing the fragile state the world is in, he may be incline to stay at UNT and just minutes away from loved ones. Now with that being said maybe WV agrees to move Grant’s entire family to West Virginia. 🤔

Please remember as someone already clearly pointed out that the only reason we are in the Championship game is because 3 teams left for the SunBelt forcing a change in the format. Keep that in mind.

Actually, didn’t it have more to do with KST insisting that Bill Snyder’s son be retained on the staff? Wouldn’t that be like having a spy watching and critiquing every move you made, No? Wouldn’t take long for papa Snyder to realize Litrell wasn’t qualified.

WHAT? Of course this is the very same head coach we had for the FIRST THREE YEARS. Graham Harrell and Mason Fine ran cover for Littrell. Littrell tried to parlay their success into a P5 position but KST was too wise. Unfortunately our leaders weren’t. They were totally caught off guard, totally caught unprepared and therefore they foolishly negotiated from a position a weakness. And because of their ineptness we, the fans have had to suffer the consequences.

I wouldn’t feel for him if he was only making 1.1 million. Even at that level he would be well underperforming. There are many G5 Head Coaches doing far more for less money and with far less in facilities. Littrell has failed miserably.

It’s way past time for change. I, like many of you, have been watching many AAC Football games this season. We will be humiliated under this Head Coach.

Question? Were the details of Coach Macasland’s new contract ever released? I don’t recall seeing anything written about it after he turned down the offer from SMU. This is in no way meant to question his ability as a Head Coach considering the rough start. He has already proven he is a winner. Just curious. Nothing more.
