  1. I understand your points, but I also happen to believe, especially as the game has changed, that fans also have the right to voice their feelings, positive or negative.
  2. And plenty of players play every last game (and even though they don't always say it, not all of them support teammates not playing). So in your world, players can play or not and come and go as they please; but we shouldn't say anything? Fan's can buy tickets, merchandise, and make donations, but they should not be able to comment?
  3. While not an entrance song, this should be played and shown during the pregame -
  4. We have an incredible music school, can't they help us with an entrance song that includes the references that UTSA sucks and SMU is full of elitist a-holes?
  5. So it's okay for you to have your opinion and tell people how they should respond, but but not okay for them to have their opinions? Sure this is not a news flash, but people are going to have different opinions?
  6. PAC 10 or Big 12 Interviews with SMU - How many division or conference championships have you won lately? (SMU) - We can buy players How much fan support do you have? (SMU) - We can buy players What do you bring that can add value to our conference? (SMU) - We can buy players
  7. An SMU fan talking shit about attendance? What a F'ing joke. Don't you guys have a forum of your own to go to?
  8. That NCAA group is on top of things. Sometime in 2028 i'm sure they will look into these tampering allegations.
  9. If were going to have them make it once or twice a year in games, or on occasions that are important. If you use them all of the time the cease to be special.
  10. Understand, but one of the great and special things about traditions is you are putting the school and the team first. Traditions are still around when those same players move on. It pisses me off when its mentioned how schools like Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, etc. have the same uniforms, but then people will say "we're not them". Time for us to start acting like we belong.
  11. In the intro photos the other coaches are smiling, Coach Jennings already has his "let's kick their asses" look going!
  12. @TheReal_jayD Is this so they have their semester covered and can now take their time to look and transfer after the spring semester?
  13. Based on your previous "heads-up" should we take it this is close to happening?
  14. I would like to see us pick one green, and one white uniform combination and stick with it. Understand using a "special" design maybe once a year, but I personally am not in favor of the multiple looks per season. Focus on MEAN GREEN!
  15. My thought for them breaking away is right now they control the decisions for everyone in division one. G5s and FCS schools don't really have a say, were just left wo adjust to what they decide we can have. You even have a lot of P5 schools that are in severe financial trouble trying to keep up. People keep talking about the money football makes and players should get their share, but not that many programs make money, especially when you consider football helps pay the bills for so many non-revenue sports. For schools like UNT, if we didn't have the mandatory student fees and such a large student population we would be in trouble and probably still playing one or two money games a year. Perhaps if there was a split we could actually get some rules and limits put in place that allow teams to be competitive.
  16. I have no problem with players and teams following the rules. If you get the player fine, but for some pony fans to stop by to boast about how they have the money to get players isn't done for any other reason than to take a jab at UNT.
  17. Have whatever rules you are going to have, but be consistent with the enforcement. You bring up a great example with Daniels (another shining example of the incompetence of the College Presidents). How any play that once to transfer and doesn't want to sit out, and his new school don't sue the NCAA if the waiver is not signed is beyond me. With the hundreds os exceptions that the NCAA has made, and the current judicial environment, they would likely win. I just wish the top 50-60 schools would go ahead and break away and then try and restore some common sense rules to College football.
  18. Fixed it for you. Sad thing is that for the vast majority of students and boosters at SMU if most of these kids were not good players they would not want to have them on campus. You even changed the admissions requirements a while back. SMU's trying to buy their way back into relevance and they might well be successful. Following rules was never a concern before, and now that there are basically no rules and everyone is allowed to "play dirty" a lot of the "money" people at SMU probably feel right at home.
  19. I don't think the comments are against the student per se, but the fact that the NCAA has no rules. You are letting schools determine how much money they spend and there is no control over alumni or boosters. Combine that with the growing attitude that everyone should get what they can, kids will do what the others are doing. Most coaches are "acting" like their not helping to coordinate pay-to-play (except Deion) but the entire system is being ran without enforceable controls. They have basically said that anything goes including the tampering.
  20. The credit I will give SMU, or more correctly stated the recognition, is that they have the money to play the game. SMU, Miami, and Texas A&M are 3 examples of schools that have tried to buy success and so far have failed.
  21. So sad that it's true. Hopefully at some point enough people will decide to try and make corrections. This is another great example of what happens when you rush to do something for Fear of politicians and judges getting involved. Not saying something should not have been done but this has been a cluster F from the beginning. The University presidents are the ones in my opinion to blame for the screwed up state of college football. End of the day most are only worried about how much money they can bring into their school and have not tried to put a system in place Is the promote competition and set boundaries. And more amazing is people that say they didn't realize it would turn into this. Those have to be the most stupid people on Earth. But hey,as Deion said, "I'm gonna get mine" is all more and more people care about.
