Yeah QB pieces are barely falling into place. People need to relax on that position. While it's a big one, you'll likely see big schools only take 1 if they're paying top dollar. After that, guys will find their landing spots. It's not like other position groups where schools may take 4-5 guys.
As some QBs have committed, others have entered the portal including the number HS recruit from 2023, Malachi Nelson. There's plenty of quality QBs in the portal. Maybe even more than open starting jobs and most won't get the big NIL deal they seek.

Is this a jab at Coach O?

We have had, at least announced, an excellent week; hopefully, they will follow through on Wednesday. That being said, I would be lying if I did not mention that I had hoped there would be an announcement on a QB and more ready-to-play (transfers) DL/LBs. I'm not sure how a QB would not be interested in playing in Morriss' system (and with all of the receivers we are getting, maybe there is something they are sharing with them). Hopefully there is some good news coming Wednesday, as I would hope for the potential QB1 to be here for the Spring.

We are his only listed offer.

Rivals shows him with an offer from TX Southern and interest in SFA, Louisiana and TX State.
On Twitter/X he mentioned we were his 5th D1 offer. Has some decent tape. Might be a late bloomer.

We won this week? That makes us bowl eligible!!
Truth be told, if we were in a Bowl game, we might not be doing this well.

The guy they hired for OL coach had no on-field experience.
I took a quick look, so it might be off a bit - here is the FBC on-the-field coaching experience for the assistants before Morris hired them:
*Neither DC nor OC had previous coordinator experience

If there was an effort to keep Stone, then with all due respect, the QB recruiting might not be going too well.

In the same breath, I really want Morris to find a way to bump up Cobbs' pay and give him a greater title. He's earned it. Co-OC at the very least should be in the works in the next year or I'd imagine bigger jobs will come calling.
This 100%. It's almost as if he underpaid PC (based on what he paid others) since he knew he wanted to stay at UNT.

Just a question but why did we not consider him as our hire? He seemed to really care.
I'm not sure if he was considered or not. I hope the new O-Line coach works out, but I wonder why Morris seems to avoid hiring coaches without much on-the-field experience.

I guess when Morris did not hire him as the O-line coach he felt it was time to move on.
Based on his new profile, he is now the Offensive Line Coach and Associate Head Coach at Coffeyville Junior College- 3

Does not look like he has posted any recruiting info since he posted he was in the portal.

Don't give an ideas... but I wouldn't be surprised to see us go full tilt on the DL in January.
With all of the transfers in football, here are some things to keep in mind for the Spring Portal window (May1-15)
- Grad transfers (graduating in May) cannot do anything official until then - quite a few will be available.
- Players at schools where transfers are coming in will see they are being "replaced" or will move down the depth charts and hit the portal.
- Players at schools where new coaches are coming do not feel they fit and hit the portal.
I would like to have as many here for the Spring as possible, but good players will be available in May.

The top tier are garnering so much attention not sure what will be left may as well let the wave settle and regroup in January... I'm very pleased so far! If they've done this so far they'll find the other pieces. I have no doubt.
I believe there will be a lot of very good players in the portal in the next round. Would not be surprised with all the transfers at mid-year for a lot of new transfers to hit the portal and be available after the spring.
Would nice to have a couple more quarterbacks in for the spring.

Looks like a lot of defensive players rolling in…anyone else getting excited??
Would be much more excited if we added two or three defensive linemen

I like the hubris because at least theoretically it is now possible. With a 12 team playoff being undefeated will guarantee your team a shot. And they’ve been undefeated late into the season before.
If two or more G5s end up undefeated, only one at the most will go.

Big time PBU in the 4th negated by a phantom PI call
That was a terrible call - it should NEVER have been made in a State finals game.

So, is Tulane going to take over the role from SMU of the school that is not North Texas that we have people continually posting about on the North Texas football board?

Liking and accepting that it's a reality that you must deal with are different.

Wasn't there a lot of excitement about their recruiting and transfers last year, also?

Concerns leading up to Wednesday
in Mean Green Football

To hear more and more players, these monster NIL deals are not paying as much as is being advertised. There seem to be a lot of these deals that are tied to performance, and when some of these young players are not playing enough to put up numbers, those NIL checks are not as large as they thought they would be.
