She makes it sound like CJ felt Coach Hodge was not 100%-honest (transparent) with him.
I can't imagine that being the case, as Coach Hodge seems to be very up front & open with his players.
Overprotective Parent Speak translation - My son should have been the center of Coach Hodge's universe. He should have had all plays run through him and had a say in all team activities. After all, my son is great!

Tim Pernetti's (new AAC Commissioner) remarks regarding exploring more corporate involvement seems interesting and innovative, sort of. Getting some heavy-hitter businesses on board with their big advertising/public-relations budgets. They get to splash their logos all over the AAC venues, ceremonies, uniforms, etc in exchange for some NIL type moola.
I don't know, it all just feels weird and uncomfortable to this old fat guy.
I applaud his effort to become innovative. Let's try something like this - corporate sponsors provide a pool of money that is made available based on performance in the league and all-conference teams. Graduating players would get their bonus in the year it happens, while players with remaining eligibility would get their bonus at the beginning of the following football season once school has started (which would mean that they are still enrolled in the same school where they performed and gained the all-conference honors). This would perhaps entice players not to bolt once they have success.

This seems to be the norm that we will live with in college football. But in Dion's case, when you recruit players with a sales pitch on doing what is best for "me," don't be surprised when they have no loyalty to you.

It looks like unlimited transfers are going to be approved across all sports with no sitting out. The only condition will be that you cannot transfer mid-year in a sport and play for two schools in the same academic year. Supposedly, this will be tied to maintaining educational levels that are supposed to ensure the student is on the way to completing school. Total Bull Shit! Not one person, including presidents of universities, gives a crap whether or not these kids are graduating from school. We all bitch about the NCAA, but remember, the NCAA is controlled by the college presidents. I cannot wait till some of these kids who transfer 4 times in a five-year career start suing because they never got a degree.
TWO TERMS THAT SHOULD NEVER BE USED AGAIN

Or, OSU and WSU use the money to make a deal with the Big 12

I have a question out of curiosity. On many of the games you see multiple trucks and cars parked along the Outfield. Are those areas where they are charged or is that free access to the game?

I've been searching for articles about when Clemson and Florida State were forced to sign the agreements to be in the ACC and get information on the lawsuits they filed, trying not to take the money.

I think the well-made point is with all of the money we hear being thrown around; you would expect to see more players in commercials and public appearances instead of the minimal "appearances" or social media postings that are there to meet a requirement to hand them money.
Also, more and more stories are coming out where players are not getting anywhere near the amount of money they thought they would. Seems like many are rushing to sigh and don't read the details.

Our hitting still worries me. I worry we could very quickly get shut down by a pitcher who's somewhat hot.

What was the reaction from both fan bases? I’m curious.
I was there with my wife, fiancée at the time (A UT Grad) and was the only one in a group of UT fans. Several turned to me and said that was about as bad of a "homer" job that they had ever seen.

Every time I see these transfers, I am reminded of Rico Bussey, Jr.
He transfers to Hawaii, and around draft time, they talk about the receiver from Hawaii, but almost every video they show is about him playing at North Texas.
It seems like the "previous" schools are getting recognized more than in the past, but I would expect it would be from North Texas if he is drafted.- 3

Saw D’Andre Payne “promoted” to CB coach so it looks like they are finally admitting they don’t give a damn about TEs and not replacing Gilbert. (Hope no one paid to learn about the next TE coach…)
Not sure why you felt the need to take a cheap shot. Also I guess by placing who they did as a tight end Coach maybe they do give a little bit of a damn.

He lost me at “a coach has a contract.”
And if a Coach leaves under contract he pays a penalty. So a player could still leave but they would have to reimburse the school some fixed amount

Just wondering ..... If the PAC 2 were to get an invite from the Big 12, would they turn it down to preserve the PAC?

The University of Arizona is $177 million in debt and the athletic department borrowed $80 million? Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
I have a feeling there are a lot of other P5 programs that use very creative bookkeeping to avoid showing how bad things are financially. If I recall, during the beginning of COVID-19, several programs had to take out loans immediately to continue operations. The bottom line is that many schools are going broke trying to "keep up" with the top schools and have created a Ponzi scheme system to keep up appearances.

It's way too early, but pending some late additions to the D-Line, guessing 5-7 :
- @South Alabama: L
- SFA: W
- @TexasTech: L
- Wyoming: W
- @FAU: L
- @Memphis: L
- Army: L
- East Carolina: W
- Tulane: L
- Tulsa: W
- @Temple: L
- @UTSA: W
*** If we start the first six games and are 1-5 or 2-4, and our defense gets trashed, I expect to see Caponi sacrificed.

I can understand the growing frustrations. Costs are rising, and students see the greed on all sides and constantly hear athletes talking about being "professional" athletes and that they should "get theirs." I am not arguing if they are right or wrong, but I can understand why average students do not believe they should have to support it unless they choose to.
PS - With all due respect, please don't play the "If they don't like it, they can go somewhere else" card.

The PAC 2 wants to keep their Conference Brand alive, but they want to cherry pick the MWC. The MWC wants to join the PAC but they currently are holding the line at All or None. They have 2 years to get it settled but look for the PAC to remain in the future in some form.
In no way do I have any understanding of how the two most irrelevant teams in the PAC seem to be able to continue to carry so much power.

When he committed to North Texas didn't he change his Twitter profile to say North Texas quarterback? And I just looked at his Twitter and it no longer says that. It went back to tcu.
What he did add was a post showing his commitment to North Texas and that is still there

Pac-2 Cherry picking MWC and raiding AAC takes a hit
in Conference ReAlignment

By the time the SEC, Big ten, and Big 12 pick the teams they want from the ACC the rest of these teams will be left like the pack and will not maintain a designation of a power conference
