An article I read stated 'Bama expected to have a replacement named in 72 hours. Dan Lanning already turned them down.
Did he turn them down or say he wasn't interested?

As long as neither one's first name is Edsel...
It brought a laugh to my day. Back in the day, my driver's ed teacher's name was Edsel Dodge Ford.

I am disappointed they are projecting him to OL, since we have numbers there and not on the DL.
It's almost as if we have a head coach primarily focusing on the offense. 😈

Yesterday 9 football recruits at Alabama de-. committed . Probably more to follow.
I would be very surprised if they did not name a new coach by the weekend. Also, keep in mind the portal is now open for 30 days for all Alabama players also.

Not sure if we, or he was interested in each other this time around.

NIL or NLI (National Letter of Intent)?
Thanks, NLI

Even if those two are, it doesn't mean we won't bring somebody else in. Players have continued to hit the portal. Like the JayD said, Rogers didn't commit to us until January 10th last year. I realize today is the one year anniversary of that but it really just shows it's still not too late.
I agree and believe there are players who could provide needed depth in the portal.

Should players who sign with a school whose coach leaves right after the signing be allowed out of their NLI?

I'm probably wrong, but I don't remember Morris ever saying anything like that.
When you have the worst Defense in FBS and don't make changes, your actions speak louder than words.

To be honest, I am more worried about our defense and the lack of signings out of the portal on that side of the ball.
I agree that this is very concerning. Even after being the worst defense in FBS, it seems Morris is still clinging to his Leach Air-Raid defense philosophy, where he believes his offense will score enough and he can deal with whatever he has on defense. We should have seen a much harder push for DLs and LBs. It will not matter how good of an offensive geru Morris is if we do not improve significantly on defense. I do not believe he will finish out his first contract here.

I don't even think classes have started yet. Still time for a transfer to come in and get those reps.
I thought both C. Morris and Purdey were staying at their current schools to graduate in May. Even if Eric is counting on one of them, getting another transfer or JUCO player here for the Spring would be nice.

Aune's 2022 season was a pleasant surprise. Actually, it was VERY SIMILAR (with the glaring difference being the 10 more interceptions) to Rogers' season last year.
Aune and Rogers' seasons proved that putting up big stats does not mean much if your defenses are bad. Our coaches must stop thinking they can outscore everyone and not put enough emphasis on the defense.

Don't think the NCAA saw this tsunami and failed to have guidelines or rules in place.
This should have led to the entire leadership of the NCAA being replaced. Many people predicted what would happen and that it would be a pay-for-play system. I don't think many thought there would be so much money thrown at players (even backups who rarely play). I would also guess they did not think they would create a system where star players at Blueblood programs would leave their teams. Combine this with the ease of transferring (players transferring multiple times) and the fact that the spineless NCAA would not attempt to stop tampering; you have the perfect storm in place.

I think he's been tremendous at getting attention for the program and helping us reach areas we might not otherwise have.

He looks to be trying a similar system to what Kinne did at Texas State. Has hired several of his assistants, and they are bringing in a load of players from AP.
-
Nice size. Noticed he picked up an offer from UTEP today.

At this point, I do not believe we will get a transfer in until after the Spring semester. In this system, I am surprised there has not been more interest. Hopefully, I am wrong.

I just have not seen a better fan forum out there yet. Maybe there is, but I have not seen it.
The only part of this I'm afraid I have to disagree with is that this board does not show which poster is making the emoji vote. Don't run across this on many sites.

By any chance, does he also do kickoffs? I hope we can replace our ability to put almost every kickoff in the back of the end zone and avoid returns.

And to add insult to injury, he flunked out** before the bowl game.

Just wondering .....
- How many will not win the starting job at their new school?
- With all the moves, will we see another large group transferring in the Spring Portal of players who got beat out or bumped down the depth chart?
