  1. I heard it and thought it was kinda cool. So the average fan probably thinks the same. I didn't realize it cost money to get certified less alone millions.
  2. I can't wait until 2012! Two games in Houston. Hell yeah! LSU will suck, but hopefully we build enough this year that UH post Keenum will be winnable and we seem to do well lately against KState.
  3. I remember hearing them saying something about the Seahawks stadium, but I had two toddlers going nuts and missed that part. How hard is it to get that right. Makes me think HKS may have something to say and you would think they would want to put a stop to that. Also, RV said that they are expecting Platinum LEED certification and if so it would make it the only stadium with that certification in the world. If so, that is pretty cool. I think I saw Medpilot when they scanned the crowd. Was that you Med?
  4. I thought the D did a great job. They were hitting hard, tackling well, and playing to the whistle. I heard a few hits on TV. It seemed like we rushed their QB and you could tell by many bad throws. But I thought the DL did well against UH and put presure in the backfield. Keenum was just too concious and mobile and seemed to stay just out of range. IU's qbs didn't have that ability and it showed. Our secondary still seems to get burned a lot. The last 2 TDs were blown coverage. Someone tell Hill to leave the shoe on the ground or call a time out! Both TDs were from blown coverage and I believe that both were Hill's responsibility. But I may be wrong about that.
  5. I was unforunate to not be able to make the game and was stuck down here in Houston. So, I hooked up the computer to the TV and watched while streaming on ESPN 3. Worked out great. This game on TV was night and day better than from Fouts. It felt big time. Crowd noise was loud. It sounded like a college game. I remember hearing individual voices at Fouts and barely any crowd. But the crowd was loud and you could tell it was an issue for their team. This was with a 2/3 stadium capacity. The band sounded great! I could clearly hear our fight song and the words as the crowd sang them. It was awesome. Sight lines were great. When panning to the sidelines, you could see the crowd. You could tell the cameras were closer to the field as you felt more on top of the action from an angle standpoint, almost like they were looking down. RV was a class act and so were the announcers when they interviewed him. Listening to RV list out the accomplishments and milestones over the last 10 years and see where we are today, really rang home how far we've come. As far as the arms race goes, we're in great position for the future. I haven't always had faith that him and his staff would deliver, but they did and he deserves mucho kudos. It is hard for me to believe that we're not on conference radars in all this shuffle, because the commitment is there. We just need our coaches and teams to bring the wins. Watching the game while on a rollercoaster high of 24-0 at that point, I couldn't have been more proud of the Mean Green. Not just the team and their effort, but the overall shape of the program and AD. In 2001 and through 2004, just never felt that we were actually turning the corner. But, I am drinking the coolaid now. Now, if the team can get these silly penalties and turnovers under control, that game would have been a blowout. That pick 6 was a real game changer. If they can put all 4 quarters together then we'll be a formidable opponent the rest of the season. First we asked to put a good 1st half together after FIU. Then we asked them to put together a second half after UH. Last night they put together 3 pretty good quarters. If you follow that logic, next week we'll be rolling all 4!! lol
  6. Following on espn3 with my computer hooked up to my entertainment system. Working great!
  7. They may have used the wrong wording. All the teams in Limbo belong to non AQ conferences as of today and are teams that are regional. Look at that, they even included North Texas.
  8. I was at the game. It felt like old times watching Cobbs get some carries in the last half of the game. I thought he did well. A few times the line fell apart on him. But he had a few good bursts. One good run after a screen pass. I thought he was about to break loose for the long haul. It was good to see him run again in person. Miss those UNT games!
  9. Someone gave you a -1 for this ... but I thought it was hilarious. +1 back!
  10. With two 4 star transfers coming in and a good start to turning the program around, maybe this will help pull in a better than good, maybe even exceptional, recruiting class. Other players take notice of who is on the roster and coming in. Hoping this is just a start of good things from D-Mac & Co.
  11. My wife found this site that has a North Texas Mean Green spacewalk you can rent. Pretty cool for you parents planning any birthday parties. Mean Green Spacewalk You have to select Spacewalks and scroll down about halfway to the "N" section...
  12. I gotta say it might be mission accomplished if he was trolling ... because there is 4 pages of inbred fighting after the first 2 or so which is when the UNT guy dropped off. Kinda funny to read really. Still goes to show it is all about the football program. Mac needs to get us winning soon so we can step up our troll smack talk! BTW, did I read that right, UH is trying to build a new stadium at 120 million? And that drawing is the final product? It is all erector set, atleast everything that could be seen. We got a great deal on construction if that is true.
  13. TT is so bad a$$ that he yawns while burning Wesley Snipes clone!
  14. JJ has slowly been building the program. We're having a great year. Our incoming class is our best ever? I know I'm excited about the present state and future of UNT basketball. Maybe Tony Mitchell thinks that he could be part of something really special and make North Texas THE mid major program and make noise in the tourney. These kids not only dream of playing in the NBA, but they dream of playing in the tourney. JJ has shown he can get them there and is bringing in the talent to get them back. I think he is here through the 2012-2013 season. After that, all bets are off.
  15. Great win! Good job guys! It seems the team has been a little bit of jekyl and hyde. Let's hope they have it ironed out and good things to come the rest of the season. GO MEAN GREEN!
  16. Free market system? Not if you don't have access. Closer to a monopoly.
  17. Only possiblility I see is stretching the fee to pay on the stadium longer to continue getting that income. After several years of 10% increases, we get to a point we need to spend the money on something and divert the minimum to the stadium. I would rather see UNT spend that money on higher coaching salaries. I think the pit is fine with some of the upgrades mentioned.
  18. Now that's a stat! No wonder these guys don't want to come and play in the Super Pit!
  19. The team played their hearts out and won that game in front of a pretty packed house and great student turnout. The students and crowd sounded very spirited and I imagine the team responded to that. I gotta think it made the players feel good when the students rushed the court to celebrate with them. I think the players deserve that...
