  1. Some info on Franklin....ranked 4* by Rivals, had offers from AZ, Indiana, Michigan St, OK and UCLA...Scout reports one of the hardest working players in the country...extremely coachable and a big piece of the puzzle..a team guy by nature.ESPN called him a two headed monster at the forward position in HS..at his best slashing to the basket and utilizing his uper body strength.ESPN had him ranked # 16 position ranked.
  2. I found searching the internet that NT has received a commitment from DT Terrell Brooks, Duncanville 6-5-3 per TX FB mag. Also found he was MVP at this position at a combine. Another post shows him at 6-4, 293. NT o3 had notified mea couple of days ago that our new head coach had stated publically that NT would have a prospect this weekend who would commit. This may be him. If I am not mistaken he is a 2011 commitment, not a 2012. Which means he will be on this years team...Possible he can help us this year?
  3. http://insider.espn.go.com/college-football/recruiting/school?id=249&class=2012&page=considering&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fcollege-football%2frecruiting%2fschool%3fid%3d249%26class%3d2012%26page%3dconsidering They list 6 players, only includes 2 we already knew about..show no offers at this time.
  4. You also forgot over a million $ for competitive tennis courts
  5. ************************************************ How negative a post...NT has LOI for 5 HS players that ranked # 31 nationally if I remember correctly...this includes 2-3* players including a power forward 3* 6-8, 220 to replace George Odufuwa....this doesn't count anything to Tony Mitchell a 6-8 forward ...a5* enrolled but not elgible at this time...that should leave at least 1 ship for a JC transfer.
  6. ************************************** OK take away the exhibition game and add the 83 to 69 win over Troy in the Sun Belt turnament...still an outstanding achievement considering the injuries. I'm sure someone can state whether its JJ's 4, or 5th or ? 20 game season wins.
  7. I realize we have injury problems resulting in some loses this year ...but wasn't the Ark LR win NT's 4th or 5th straight 20 winning season?
  8. http://www.star-telegram.com/2011/03/03/2894392/unt-stadium-construction.html
  9. ******************************************** It is my understanding that WR Marcus Smith will be a gray shirt.. walk on and pay his own way in the fall and be counted as a commit in Jan counting as a 2012 ship commitment.
  10. Considering the 13 known offers it is interesting to me we see they come in multiples per high school vs 1 prospect at 1 HS etc.Don't know if anyone has noticed this or not. I would think it would help recruit a prospect if he has a friend to go also commit with him. 8 of the 13 are multiply related offers. 3- Wylie..SDE Noble Nwachukwu, CB Terrell Burt and DT Azuka Akozan 2-San Antonio Sam Houston HS...OT Ralphael Green and S Leo Thomas 3--Arlington Martin HS..WDE/TE Devonte Fields, Safety Eric Amoako, CB Amoako Notice they are all Texas HS recruits
  11. Great article...it points out to me as we continued to lost players or players playing with injuries...........during the year I can understand why we have lost games later on in the season...hopefully as was stated we will get some of them back and ready for the remainder of the season.
  12. I would appreciate it if one of our knowledgable (SP?) experts on NT mens BB would post which players were hurt and when in the season.....starting with those players who couldn't start the season and where we are now....I have a copy of the roster but am not knowledgable on which of the players were injured... how many and which players are currently OK to play effectively.
  13. ******************************************************** More info would love to get this guy..HS Magnolla HS (TX) 4* coming out of HS, 40 yd 5.1, played Center in HS.
  14. ************************************************************************** addition...the basis of my post comes from a statement on his web page..read the latest news at the bottom.
  15. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-DaJuan-Coleman-98647 I'm not a Rivals subscriber but this posting indicated they were running an article on his possible interest in UNT. Boy this would be a great catch..if our recent losses don't cost us here.
  16. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> RE baseball....there are a couple of things holding this up....1. No baseball stadium...the FB stadium is taking all excess funds at this point. 2. No baseball stadium.....see # 1 3. Cost of operating a baseball program...I was VP Finance and ADm at El Paso Community College...the board of regents at that time pushed this as EPCC had no other athletic programs. It cost EPCC over $350,000 for the first year of operations( Not counting coaching salaries)....not counting cost of a baseball field) Also At the cost of draining all possible monies out of the general fund balance. 4. National gender relations would require additional womens programs to offset the male athletes. Again more cost.
  17. small forward, Dallas Kimball, 4* shows 5 offers with no NT listed6-8, 195, Any current info on Tony Mitchell...is he actually enrolled at NT yet?
  18. I don't believe that any Div 1 coach can win when he only has 7 players with the injured players NTS has I think we are lucky to be as good as we are...how about someone complete this thought by listing the players who have been unable to play this year.
  19. Todays first blog shows NT has a letter from a Travis Ellard. From what I can find so far he comes from Deer Park HS, OT 6-4, 265..he can bench pres 340, FB web site shows only Rice..no other schools listed.
  20. *************************** I like Lemon's stats: Sr. 98 tackles, 14 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 5 pass breakups, and a blocked punt. 4.5 speed doesn't hurt, Named all central Texas, offers from Florida International, UH, La Tech, Missouri, New Mexico st, Rice, A&M, per his web site.
  21. I show 20 commitments I can verify with one or 2 more possible reported NT commits Of this 6 are 3* rated commits...to me a sign of quality recruiting addressing needs: 1. OT Grant Shaw Forney 6-5, 285 2. DT Micah Thompson Jones Ok HS 6-5, 290 3. DT Terrell Brooks Duncanville 6-4, 294 Known Offers still open: Another 3* prospects DT Luther Maddy Atlantic HS 6-2, 275 DT Rakeem Knight Bama private school hS 6-2, 294 this is a strange recruit. DT Johnny Hubbard, Maceo Smith hs 6-1, 270 NT visit scheduled I would hope we commit/sign at least 1 more DT and 2 OL and a couple of quality WR ..hopefully the Houston WR Kevin Robertson another 3*, with 6-4 height. This would give us two WR 6-4 to win out over smaller DB's Considering the late employment of NT coaches and prior record this has the making of a "great" recruiting class.
  22. Note that channel 21 had TV coverage of the game last night...there was a small.............article in the Star Telegram. IMHO the television was awful last night...most of the time it didn't show what happened at the end of a play...cameras didn't cover some of the scoring or defense at the ends of the court.
  23. If you look at the commitments in the recruiting offer forum it shows QB Brent Osborn Northwest JC Senatobia Mississippi will visit UNT 12-17-10.
