  1. Hal Mumme? He has done a great job at McMurry and is a big name. He has been to the big time and can bring the excitement that leach would offensivly.Mumme
  2. as our next head coach? Sewak he has been a head coach, had success at the d-2 level and know the flexbone offense...... I think we are very simular to Navy, Air Force and Army and this guy can start us on the right track..... just my .02
  3. FYI - Riley is the OC at ECU and 2-0 right now. I think we should target Neal Brown, OC - Texas Tech and Chad Morris OC - Tulsa, and finally Mike Sewak - OC Georgia Tech.
  4. Boger was an awesome and superb player, but other than that, what can you say?
  5. I think that is crazy. The spread is the equalizer.... you can have less talented linemen (hardest position to find).
  6. If he is not contacted or interview it will be a shame because I know he is intrested........
  7. I gave Lincoln RV, Clayon George and Lefty's cell #'s/
  8. I am with you H-Town, I am doing everything I can to get Lincoln and TD hooked up.......
  9. Just talked to Lincoln. He has not found another position but would definately be intrested in the position. Quick, someone let TD know!
  10. Word in the high school coaching world is that clayton george is looking to get back to HS too.......
  11. lincoln is probablly there too, I just texted him to see if NT has talked to him or what he has on his plate.
  12. well, I posted about riley before looking down the board. he is a great one and dodge would be a fool to not hire him.
  13. Lincoln Riley, former inside wr coach at texas tech. did a great job calling the offense in the alamo bowl. Additionally, he is a personal friend and a great young coach.
  14. Wow, the first reply on this post is negative. The people here are really starting to make me wanna stop coming on here. What is the point?
  15. At this time it does not make any sense to fire TD right now with the stadium opening in 2011. Why Not to Fire Now.... 1. Lower qualitiy of applicants (TD only gets three years @ NT) 2. Restart everything with stadium 2 years away..... 3. If 2010 is a bad season for the new coach we loss momentum of the new stadium Why to Wait...... TD Has Success in 2010 1. TD gets ample chance to win 2. If successful - Winning and excitement are carried into new stadium 3. Recruiting will be even better 4. I believe we are right on the verge of being great and want to see it all on the line next year. TD losses in 2010 1. Reason for TD to go and spospect coaches will see they can get a chance. 2. Better applicants with the new stadium near completion (recruiting tool) 3. New coach and stadium = Excitment Based on TD and the stadium it does not make sense to me to let him go now.
  16. I can now sleep at night knowing that we have many members on the bord who have are experienced enough to criticize the coaching, players and practices.
  17. YEa guys I said lets go get Paul Johnson from Navy at the time..... look at him now at Georgia Tech. Guess what that doesnt change anything. TD is still out head coach.
  18. "At our game this weekend, a friend was talking to an elderly gentleman who had been an assistant coach with Switzer at OU who is doing what I believe to be volunteer coaching/advising to our team." Video Eagle, his last name isnt Michaels is it???
  19. First I want you to all know that the negative talk has put a dim view on my desire to come to the Army game. Becuase some of my former teammates I am going to come and have a good time with them and FFR. Since I as a former letterman have such a negative view of the program (completely due to the board) I have often wondered what prospective athletes and their families are thinking........ Anyway enough of that I think that Dodge deserves one more year and at that time must be close to a .500 season or be gone. He has had time done a GREAT job of recruiting and I think things will turn over the course of the next year. All of this talk reminds me of 2001 after the ULM game.
  20. ITs because they recuit phenominal athletes and they leave early for the draft.
  21. I run the veer double slot offense at my school (NAVY or GEORGIA TECH). This year every team we played ran the spread. When we execute it, its a thing of beauty when we dont its not too hot. Be on the look out, my wife and I are ready to get back to DFW so I will be applying for head jobs up there and hope to land one this year.
  22. People have come and gone over the past few years but everyone here knows who the faithful are and those opinions are the ones that matter. Smitty most of the posting on here has been negative or neutral at best. Just remeber HISTORY because it always repeats itself and I have a feeling someone will be EATING CROW again some day. Its not going to happen this year and most likely not next year so LEAD, FOLLOW or GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY. Rick that post brought back great memories. Those fans at the NMSU game mean more to me than the packed stadium vs NMSU for the conference championship. GO MEAN GREEN - THE NATION WILL RISE AGAIN!
  23. I never said what the team was or wasnt and maybe I should have just left the selfishness out. My thought that they maybe selfish is because I know that is usually the number one reason teams fail. Not the X's and O's, not the coaches and rarely the talent (even in HS) but rather getting a player to do what you ask them to do each play in the way you want it done - - SELFISHNESS! I have a DE that has 2 responsabilities, take the QB on option and keep contain, but he is too selfish to acomplish this task. He is one of the better athletes on the team and a decent kid but when the lights come on he just wont do what we ask, guess what we bench him and put in a freshman who has no business playing (small, slow and uncordinated ) but he does what we ask every play and did a GREAT job. KRAM Some times you dont want the leaders of the team to lead. They maby leading the wrong direction (I AM UNSURE BECAUSE I HAVNT SEEN A GAME) One last note: There are many things that go on in the offices and locker rooms that no one other than the players and staff know about. The second guessing, blame game and what not should not be going on because we only know what we see and hear - about 1/10 of the real story.
