  1. No worries man. On the other hand Orange County people seem to be more hardcore. Angels games are alot of fun. I'm not really a fan of either team. But I'd say I follow the Dodgers more, so I figure I'm pretty unbiased.
  2. Better places to go out here than Manhattan Beach. I notcied in the article that the Fiesta bowl won't be at Sun Devil Stadium anymore. Never saw one, but that's really sad. I love that area of Tempe. All sorts of shops, restaraunts and things to do down there. I'm sure it was a blast for the big game.
  3. They arrive in the 4th and leave after the 7th inning stretch. Why even bother showing up?
  4. Seriously, the Colesium was one of the best environments I've ever seen a game in. It was electric. Los Angeles fans get a much deserved thrashing for being finicky(don't even get me started on late arriving Dodger crowds), so I was surprised how loud and raucous it was. It was LOUD.
  5. Going back to the original discussion really fast. Bush deserved the Heisman, period. I felt he deserved it LAST year when he was 5th. He is quite simply the most amazing player I've ever seen play on a college football field in my 27(okay, maybe 22...did I really watch much before I was 5?) years of watching the game. Young is terrific. I even think he might be a better pro than the much hyped Leinart. But he's no Reggie Bush. I'll never forget being in the Colesium for the Fresno State game....chills just remembering it.
  6. Shaping up as a special year for the Women.
  7. I think we had 2 bench players in double figures. That'll come in handy in conference if they can keep it up.
  8. Granted not the best competition, but the team sounded strong. I didn't like the fact that we got outrebounded by an undersized team. However our defensive pressure was strong and we caused 24 turnovers. Kendrick Davis was really strong tonight. I believe nearly the whole team scored.

    Who's #1

Good point, but Arizona doesn't seem to be as strong as I initially thought they were. We'll see once Pac-10 play starts however.

    Who's #1

I mean we're only a third of the way thru the season, so who knows who the best team is. But Duke looks really good so far from the games I've seen. The second most impressive school I've seen so far is Louisville. I'm not sure Texas would make my top 10 after today. But...as I stated...it's WAYYYY early.
  11. It sure as hell ain't Texas(not yet anyways...we'll see come March). Duke is annhilating the Longhorns. I expected a good game, go figure.
  12. Well at the FB games a good portion of them are doing on the field stuff no doubt(cannon crew etc). Basketball games there's no excuse being invisible in the stands.
  13. As a Talon my entire time in college I feel safe asking this. WHERE ARE THE TALONS AT THE BASKETBALL GAMES(granted it was something that irritated me even when I was in school)?? All I hear and read about on the board is the Pit Crew. Are we laying down like dogs? I never missed a game unless I was working. Proud to be a Talon.
  14. North Texas blew out Pan American by a score of 73-55.
  15. While it's not there fight song, USC has a pretty prominent song they play after every game where there tell UCLA to goto hell. I heard it myself after the Fresno State game. In other words, it's not "retarded". Plus, if you're strictly going on the melody and not the words(which I have to do when I judge fight songs since I don't know the words to every college fight song) it'd be in my top 10 along with ND, Michigan, Georgia Tech, USC and a few others.
  16. I think the key to the game will be USC's defense. People know that SC's D has been suspect, but they've come up with big turnovers all year. If they continue to do this, the Trojans will win. Let's face it UT's offense can't really be stopped and will will run through SC all day. But Carrol's squad has a knack for getting the key TO and the key time. If that continues look for the Men of Troy to play "Conquest" once again. USC 34 Texas 30 Texas to have more yards...Young has a unreal day USC +3 in the turnover differential
  17. Sorry I turned it into a NC Wilmington thread. Though you know...they did upset USC in the '02 tournament and lost to Maryland in '03 on a buzzer beater - so it's not like they only get in because they're in the Colonial and can't play - they're pretty dangerous come March. Back to the main point. We do look like we're going to be pretty decent this year. I'm not sure how the conference as a whole is supposed to be, but I can see us being competitive for the league title. The last 2 or 3 of games have shown that this might be JJ's best team.
  18. Oh, I know A&M did well last year. Quarterfinalists in the NIT if I recall. But Wilmington seems to make the Big Dance every other year or so. That's why I said they aren't USUALLY in NC-Wilmington's class. (I have no idea who'd win between those two schools this year. Probably who ever had homecourt)
  19. Well Texas A&M, while a tough opponent - is usually not in UNC Wilmington's class. Granted they might be starting to turn the corner in College Station. We should be able to hang tough or beat A&M if you go by how good they generally are. I'm just saying it's not like we just strolled into Rupp Arena and had JJ say we "came here to win".
  20. A well fought, well played game. We played some serious defense, but also turned the ball over 24 times ourselves.
  21. Since both teams can light it up and the defenses have been overlooked.... I'm expecting a defensive struggle. As wierd as it may seem that happens alot in these Bowl games. I expect the Men of Troy to win 17-13 or something like that.
