  1. The problem is, the drumline is not the only uber-talented group. I'd like to see the 'bones get 2:44 as well! Where do the highlights end?
  2. TSU had an offensive explosion last weekend against PVA&M. I expect they will show up with something to prove and will give UNT their best shot. I hope our guys are not sleeping on them because they have clearly demonstrated that they can score points. Unfortunately, their defense could not stop PVA&M, and I highly doubt they will stop ours either. I'm watching for an offensive explosion led by Thompson & Chancellor/Bynes, and I think Orr & them D-boys will take it as a challenge to keep this team to 10 points or less. UNT - 41 TSU - 7
  3. Thanks for stopping by, it may surprise you, but I believe the Mean Green can win this game. I'm not the only one... and we're not crazy. I can't wait to watch this game. McDermott VS Mitchell will bring scouts galore into your arena that night. I'm also excited to see how our new big transfer, Coleman, matches up against your big Venezuelan. The Mean Green returns all impact players from last year and brought in some highly touted transfers/freshmen. The only wild-card is our new coaching staff, but these guys have major skins on the wall. Do you think the loss of Young will hurt you guys? Or, do you think there's a player that can fill his void? I hope the frustration with scheduling this game isn't compounded when you guys actually lose the game. EDIT: I know you guys are hoping for big things from Austin Chatman. He hoops regularly with our guys when back home in Dallas/Ft.Worth. Our guys know him very well. He's a very nice player. Don't know much about Groselle...
  4. Pollard coming all the way down from Chicago? Awesome! Hope he gets to spend plenty of time with T-Mitch, and maybe hit the floor at the rec for a pick-up game to see how good we are.
  5. I'll just say I hope he's better at jumping fences when dogs are attacking him...
  6. Gotta think that if DT has a breakout year, it should 100% be him. He's already a team captain.
  7. Chico has to be on cloud 9 with this news. He is a good enough coach to get the most out of Thompson, but I gotta think he's ecstatic that he now has a legit dual-threat QB to work with. His offense was VERY good with Riley at the helm. I think the running QB is more his style.
  8. Thank you for reading this board Brett. You're like our bionic arm. I knew you'd get to the bottom of this. We have strength in numbers, but you sir, are our muscle.
  9. True, but a win VS St. Joes opens the eyes of the east coast media. I guess a win over Creighton would open up some eyes, maybe more, but I think it will be a little harder.
  10. Who is this guy? If he's officially enrolled and will be "on the field today", then I anticipate we would hear about it from Vito or even the AD. And, according to Berglund's FB page, he is excited about playing for the Artichokes.
  11. Right. Watching the type of drill they do is reminiscent of high school, for sure. I believe the reigns are extremely tight on them and they could do so much more in the entertainment department, and probably would like to. But, as has been explained by KalebSchuman before, the GB is used as a lab for these students. It is part of their curriculum. It's the antithesis of the Rice MOB, which is all volunteer. The MOB is there specifically to act a fool and entertain. The GB is there partly to entertain, but mostly for academic credit.
  12. I would love to have been there for that. I wish this type of thing would happen now-days. Instead, I think most opposing bands understand what would happen to them (as you described) if they decided to challenge. That, and most of our opponents don't travel their bands, so we don't have the chance anyway.
  13. Does the name "Reggie Bush" ring any bells for you?
  14. This would surely be murder. I mean like OklahomaSt-VS-SavannahSt-like murder. Now, if it were a dance-off, then the GB may be in trouble.
  15. I think you guys are confused. Lance Dunbar is on the Cowboys practice squad. You may have seen LAMAR Dunbar.
  16. I heard he had a bounty out for me, so I'll probably be skipping his tailgate.
  17. Exactly! Their drum majors are going to dance around on the field while the rest of the band plays at fff! No dynamics changes (who needs those, amiright?), plus, I'm going to finally get my tuba highlight (Bonus, the rest of the band will put their horns down and dance around)! I'm very much so looking forward to this show. <sarcasm on> This is exactly what every marching band in the state of Texas should do during their halftime shows. Can you imagine every nerdy kid at <Your School Here> High School gettin' down on the middle of a football field while all the cool kids are in the stands watching? LOL... no. Not to mention, it will help tremendously when the spring semester concert season rolls around. The UIL gives extra points when the entire woodwind section puts their instruments down and gyrates to 16 bars of low brass riffs @ fff. <sarcasm off> If a high school in Texas were to enter the UIL marching competition and do something like what TSU, GSU, PVA&M, and other historical black colleges do, they would receive extremly low marks from judges. I've seen it happen. The Green Brigade are a highly talented group of musicians who in most cases, God bless them, plan on teaching at Jr. High & High Schools. Just like getting a finance degree should prepare you for working at a financial institution and excelling there, the students in the Green Brigade should be educated to excel in their profession. So, while you piss & moan that you are not being entertained enough, they are learning how to write and execute drill for when they graduate and enter the workforce... and they perform it at a very high standard. I don't have enough good things to say about the GB. My ONLY knock on them (and they're getting better every year) is their football acumen of when to play and when to keep quiet. I'm like the KRAM1 fan for the Green Brigade. Go Green Brigade!
  18. Or, if that's too much for you, but you would join for less and are a recent grad, try the young alumni program. You may be able to park in the red/blue lots for about the same as you would spend for each game parking at Fouts. Same privs. Much cheaper. Contact Jessica Hulsebosch in the athletic department.
  19. Good question. I dunno, but I'm not too bummed. He's certainly not the headliner of this class. Hall would be, so maybe the AD is trying to put Booger & Hall in different classes.
  20. Capper seems to talk without really thinking things through quite often.
  21. But that lot is significantly smaller, so you'd better get there early.
  22. I would like to know why there are quotes around "showmanship"? They will win the "showmanship" part, as opposed to the showmanship part?
