  1. Interesting comments, "learning how to win." I wonder how all the kids who have won state champions from SLC and some of the other programs feel about those comments. Just find them interesting. Maybe on defense, a kid like Penson can bring the "close out" attitude, after all, Lufkin only lost a few games every year. The kids form Colleyville won many a game, BJ Lewis got to the State championship game and so did Vizza and Dibrell. Maybe we need to get some winners on the field for some more reps. Is learning vs. willing themselves, two different things? Speaking from my own perspective, I believe we have some winners but they need to get on the field.
  2. Jamario did some good things against FAU. He ran the ball with some authority. He probably should have gotten more carries. But this FAU game should be a jumping board for Arkansas and the rest of conference play. Best of luck #20.
  3. Can't do much from the bench. Just like riley next year, he'll be on the bench and be red shirted with Meager still on campus. Does that mean your leery, Cooley? TD would never start a true freshman against OU and if he did, he would have faced the possibility that Meager would have transfer right then, so then what we would have backing up Vizza, another freshman. TD is a smart guy. He'll bring along Vizza slowly and will do the same with Riley. Being leery of a true freshman who did not start the first few games of season is absurd. AJ Penson did not start, are you leery of him? How about BJ Lewis not starting over Stickler? Lewis has out played Stickler but he isn't starting yet. My opinion is that Dodge from his collegiate experience brings along freshman slowly and cautiously.
  4. Why did we burn a redshirt on the high impact players, if they are not going to play in each and every game, in some capacity? Makes no sense. Penson, Dibrell, Vizza, and B. Johnson. We are getting some decent minutes for BJ Lewis and he is actually looking better in the slot than some starters. I would not be surprised to see Lewis in the game more and more, he has great speed and good hands. Lewis made several good catches against SMU early and then is never seen again but a play or two.
  5. The show was being interupted by too much cleavage.
  6. Will agree to disagree. I like A&M's tradition of never booing their own and #2 their fans stay after the game to practice their yells and and to represent the players and alumni. The players get their ass off the field. Just my opinion, and I for one, believe A&M has the best traditions in college football. They never boo, their students never sit down, and they pack the place in good seasons and bad. But no football player wants to sing after a loss.
  7. That scenario is not going to happen. No way a freshman, unless their backing up some stud, (who has the skills) will sit two seasons and not play. Those kind of kids transfer and play AA or even transfer to D-1 and sit out a season, ala Jevan Sneed or Emmanuel Moody.
  8. I think Penson will see more actual game time and quality minutes as the season progresses. They have burned his freshman red shirt opportunity so he will get more playing time as the conference champioship becomes out of reach. This kid as some of the other freshman are quality kids who have been on winning programs. We need the winning attitude. Some of the guys who are red shirt juniors and seniors have not been on winning programs and I think that makes a difference in close games.
  9. TD has the players in unity, without a doubt. It will take him some time but TD will no doubt have these guys playing as one unit. TD and his staff do have a learning curve to go through and it will take them the rest of this season. By next year, you'll see a whole different quality of play.
  10. Penson is going to be a beast at LB. I sure would like to see him get some playing time. What a great athlete and tough as nails.
  11. Personally, I would like the players to leave the field after they shake hands after a loss and get to the locker room. No one wants to sing the school song or take off their helmet after a loss, they want to haul butt to the locker room and get off the field. If I just lost a game, I would want to get off that field as quick as possible.
  12. DM should have checked down on the deep interception he threw. Its obvious that when you have a deep route that you also have a secondary route underneath. DM threw into double coverage and did not see cover 2. I would expect that from an inexperienced QB but not someone who has been on campus four years. Don't blame on the OC, we all know who runs the show on offense if your going to blame someone for that decision to throw it instead of running the ball. I too wonder why we can't hit receivers in stride on routes. DM hit one WR in the fourth Quarter, in stride, when FAU was playing soft coverage (keeping everything in front of them). DM does not step up in the pocket at all. DM starts Arkansas then get out of the way. If we lose one more conference game, expect our younger players to see some time.
  13. Meager is the guy and Dodge will stick with him in Arkansas. But if Vizza's name was Riley Dodge, we would have seen him last night against FAU. Got to disagree with Rick on the call on the fly route that was picked off. that was his primary receiver on that play, but, his check down receiver the middle third of the field was open. DM only finds his primary receivers and does not check down well at all, you can tell by watching his head lock down on only the primary route.
  14. Illuvious, I like some of your post. However, The best QB on the team is Giovanni Vizza, problem is that he is only 18 years old and right out of high school. Unless you see him day after day in practice, you would not know that. If you ask the team, giovanni is just waiting his turn because TD promised Meager that he would be his guy and give him every chance to succeed. One or two more losses, and Vizza is in the game for the rest of the season. Giovanni is a tremendous talent with sick competitiveness and a proven winner. He just needs his opportunity at the next level.
  15. Nice job on the shirts. Your effort is commendable.
