This would be nice. A fund that alum can throw extra change into and these funds can be taken and used for facility upgrades, new unis, etc. And when the account is dipped into it is announced that X was completed through using this fund. So alum know what kind of bang they are getting out of their buck and it's not being blindly given.

When the word executive is in a job title it usually comes with a lofty salary. There are 3 new lofty salaries we will be paying plus Wren. It's as if Wren is banking heavily on tremendous success on all fronts from on the playing surfaces to fundraising to gift giving and everything in between. IF Wren falls flat on his face, then what? Keep paying for him AND his round table of knights? If it pays off great, but this MIGHT be putting the carriage before the horse.

So the question must be asked. When is the dead weight being cut away? If there is not any dead weight being cut away then this is getting excessive.

You must care how things were handled in the past. The new regime slowly being worked in also must care. It is clear instruction on what the fans must not tolerate and clear instruction for the new regime on what not to be.

I guess the theory of both teams will have the same amount of players on the field from the opening kick to the final horn and everywhere in between. Oh, and of course we both start with the same amount of points at 0. So given that I would have to say it is 50/50.

I think many on this board alone could have given a similar report in far less time...as in 10 minutes. Glad it only took them 4 or 5 months and how much? 20K? Money not well spent. This was good football. Plugged the A gap, nothing crossed his face. Whipped his head around to blindside and attacked. I also think Murray sets his feet way too soon. Those feet have to constantly be churning until he engages. He sets up and anticipates and that leaves him vulnerable. A good OL coach will get him rolling probably sooner than later. I'm excited to have someone like Murray on the bench. He has to take this time to buy in to the coaching and he'll improve substantially.

I'm guessing more. The crowd might exceed 25,000. We'll see I guess.

I actually think Garner made inital contact around the ankles and then Combs and Co cleaned him up. Garner played a good overall game when he was in. He definitely made the most of his opportunities.

I get that. But SMU has a history of "tradition" and "prestige" that dates back to their cheating in the SWC. They boost their tuition costs and label themselves as a private insutuition so they can continue the vicious cycle of people buying into their false sense of security. They throw money at problems and vies for media attention by strategically placing either people or money in the right places so the media helps them churn their false narrative. We are not SMU. We are nothing like SMU and I'm glad to say that. We are a blue collar university with blue collar students and blue collar alumni. We have to earn it. On the field it is earned. The media eventually has to bow at success. We have to win all 'winnable' games. We have to stay ultra competitive in our losses. We can't afford a 66-14 loss to Army like UTEP. UTEP is in a relatively tiny market. No one raises eyebrows at their success, but no one scoffs at their immense failures either. If we win this place can be tremendously special in modern college football.

Oh, and I believe Marshall is @ Pitt this before we get a shot at them next week.

Marshal gave up 65 to Akron. We have a a shot in that game. We will need to make a lot of adjustments to keep a competitive edge vs Middle. IMO, they are better than Marshall.

I'm thinking along these same lines. Buffalo beat Army. Army put it to UTEP. Troy beat Southern Miss and not in Fluke fashion as in Southern Miss struggled to keep up. Akron manhandled Marshall. To me, the Southern Miss and Marshall games don't seem as daunting as they did 2 or 3 weeks ago. We also get both of those games at our place. Having to travel to WKU will be a tremendous task for this team right now. Middle looks to be very competitive this year as well. Again, there are wins to be had. The team will have to take what they think is rightfully theirs, whatever that ends up being. *Rice thought they were going to be able to roll their helmets out and win. Their coaches comments in his post game interview kind of stated that. If 0-3 Rice thought that then you better believe the other better teams will be thinking the same. This team will have to earn it and I'm ok with that.

I do believe he played. I think he had a FF and FR on the same play.
