  1. My issue is I found this site this season and trying to learn and catch up on the team. When I started following the coach got fired and read the q.b. was terrible as well as his back ups. This is my sole source for information. I appreciate all the analysis on this board. Any word on Littrells' recruiting focus right now?
  2. Does UNT have the players to run the UNC offense?
  3. Fortunately, I guess, utsa has a large number of JUCO signies. The rest will be interesting. It will be interesting to see if the "new" signees were guys he knows in Louisiana holding out for P5 offers and jilted on nsd. No question he hasn't recruited for utsa yet, be has been recruiting up to the hiring. I am very excited about Littrell and Wilson. So hopeful both programs can reach their potential.
  4. He just fired everyone but the O line coach. He said in the presser that NSD wasn't the last day to sign kids, but the first. I guess he's kicking a#$ and not even taking names.
  5. TCU typically poaches UTSA commits, so there tends to be "last minute" activity. Does UNT face a simular situation with a school that runs the same system and eyes commits?
  6. Are you serious? This guy is the 3 time recruiter of the year. The HC recruites and coordinators scheme and position coaches develop talent. If you don't think an SEC pedigree is solid...
  7. Heard that guy is a recruiting BEAST. If he can get solid OC and DC with his LSU resume, the UNT/UTSA series will be awesome.
  8. Noooooooo way UH, UNT, UTSA, UTEP, Rice, et al ever get the invite to the B12. Why should they? No new recruiting or tv markets to bring in $ to justify the B12 revenue $haring. IMO, the best way to crack the P5 would be the ACC for a G5 team from the state of Texas.
  9. I wasn't. I assumed he found a selection bias in the U.T. vetting process. I think at this point neither team has the luxury of talking trash.
  10. Who has that been? I want to validate your hypothesis. Could be good insight.
  11. Keeping existing coaches isn't a condition of employment. The real issue will be who he brings in ad OC.
  12. I guess I will Google fbs HC's from Oklahoma to get a headstart.
  13. Today was the day the interviews were scheduled to take place. Previous candidates were media fodder.
  14. Things always happen "only because". Only because.... of recruiting, facilities, coaching, tv contracts, weather, scheduling, tailgating, bands, student attendance, etc. In theory, unt has more control over its destiny "only because". Its a Red Herring.
  15. He made 400k because he is a coordinator and the 800k is HC $? It also seems that to go from a fbs playoff team to essentially a G5 startup would require per$uasion. Yes a gamble, but if he is the recruiting assets reported and utsa and tcu run same schemes (tcu poaches utsa recruites constantly) it would be a good investment. Lets say Luper and Littrell are the guys we hope they are- chances are they will be gone 4 years and the G5 carousel will turn again.
  16. Damn C, I dont know what's more noteworthy- the thought behind the # crunching or the time you had to pull it off.
  17. His name isn't one of the candidates who is receiving serious interest.
  18. Because his 6 years as an O.C. and Q.B. Coach with recruiting and player development didn't count in Miami? That position doesn't even make sense. Of course the players wanted to keep the O.C. and scheme, it worked. Eli Manning said the same thing about learning a new system this week.
  19. Coker left due to health reasons. Reports show a figure twice his salary for the H.C. position. One thing to keep in mind, if you were an experienced coach being asked to take over a young program, you would want to quickly and easily build your staff, not inherit one. The table is set on the $ side and the staff building side. Watching unt restart and now utsa, this will be an interesting study in the RV vs LH saga.
  20. The clever nature of the comment is funny for sure. But the essence of the message bothers me a lot because I often worry that it may be very true in F.B.S. I root for both schools on the hope both can be competitive without institutionalized rehab and parole counselors surrounded by alumni helping in recruiting player$. There is already a huge, seemingly insurmountable, gap between the haves driving the bus and everyone else. To think the other part is true as well is very depressing.
