So I was in downtown Dallas tonight and the Omni Hotel was lit up with blue and red.... in the shape of a mustang!! Huge as day. Tried to get a picture, but didn't want to hit the massive river in the road and crash. WHY?! Maybe they paid for it? Where is our logo on the Omni?

SL was on ESPN Radio earlier today talking about the bowl. Pretty good stuff. They actually asked him if they were going to give the kids a night out. He said yes they deserve it. I agree, I just hope we don't have another pool incident. Although, as he says, it is about trusting your team. Yes, my understanding was that conference champ got to choose the bowl they wanted out of the CUSA tie-ins. Is it that they can choose it, but the bowl still has to say OK?

Yes, because of the ease of the drive. I understand the offset of having to take off work, but I would have taken a day off to go instead of spending $2k to get a flight, hotel, rental car, etc.

Not at all, but as others have mentioned, we better not have turned it down. I see your point about selling the hotels, etc, but I would think it does just as good having butts in the seats, especially for the sponsors of the bowls. The city is another thing.

Part of the reason it would be easier for me personally to have gone to the Indep. bowl was it is only 3 hours away. I could have driven to the game, had a good time, then driven back. No hotel, flight, etc. which save a TON of money. I have to believe there are many people in my same situation. Multiple that times thousands and I think we have many more people going to Indy.

I am not sure what the driving force was behind getting NO versus Indy, unless Indy thought we would not bring as many fans. I personally can't go on the 16th because of previous commitments. Put that on top of Shreveport being 3 hours from here versus 7 hours for NO, I am still puzzled....

Yeah, the one I go to for lunch all the time on DNT and Park does. It is actually a decent size too.

So in Brett McMurphy's post on FB, he says "The highest rated champion from the Group of Five conferences (American, Conference USA, Mid-American, Mountain West and Sun Belt) will be selected to play in either the Cotton, Fiesta or Peach Bowl. If Army is bowl-eligible, it must play in the Armed Forces Bowl." If we do end up winning the championship (fingers crossed), is this actually possible to go to one of these bowls? I don't know what ratings they would go by. ESPN maybe? All that comes to mind is:
