  1. I hope that SMU doesn't think, with the exception of money, that they can just take who they please. LOL.
  2. I've lived in Houston for twenty years and just now realized that there was an HBU. I saw a sticker and me and my girlfriend (also a Houston native) sat there going "What's HBU!?" We looked up it and were like..."oh."
  3. How am I wrong? The only reason he's a candidate at LSU is because he's from there. If he takes us over the top, EVERYONE notices. It's a business. There's no hometown discount bull in sports anymore.
  4. Whoop-de-do. If you're telling me if he got an offer from Kentucky and an offer from LSU and he picks LSU, please, give me some of the crack you're smoking. You forget, this is a business.
  5. Depends. Does he want to go home to LSU, or does he want to move up in the college basketball world? LSU is a massive rebuilding project. A basketball powerhouse opening. He makes us legitimate, he can get a job wherever he wants. Say he fails at LSU, his career is done.
  6. See, that's the thing. Maybe I'm in denial or delusional, but if Johnny is truly career oriented, a massive season at UNT next year would open up jobs that would crap all over the LSU one.
  7. Ultimately, I think his decision comes down to two things, and what is more important? Does he want to stay here and be the thing that finally pushes UNT over the top? I mean, we have national name recognition now on NBC, CBS; the trendy pick this year in college basketball already, etc etc. If he stays, he could get a way better job than LSU, or continue to coach. He BUILT this team, I think he deserves a big name team next year or a huge paycheck. Not to mention Tony Mitchell, I don't think, would have returned if Johnny seemed too interested in LSU. Or, he can go back to LSU. A team completely in shambles, mediocre basketball league that has the name recognition, the conference prestige and the cash. Unfortunately, it's another rebuilding project, on a way bigger scale than when he comes to NT. Honestly, with T-Mitch coming back and the buzz for next year, I think he'd stay. If he was smart and played his cards right, he'd wait for UNT to be huge this upcoming year. I can see sell out basketball games, national recognition, etc etc. Especially once the news over the Alliance comes out. But if he wants to return to LSU, he'll go to LSU now the spot opened up.
  8. The question is, is does he want us to reach our peak next year or start a rebuilding package for his alma mater and the $$? He'd get a lot more attractive opportunities when we inevitably go deep into the tourney next year.
  9. LOL what a joke. And too bad that nobody cares about UTA.
  10. Houston: You want to go north or south? Take I-45 East or west? I-10 Northeast/southwest? 59 Can't figure out where your going? I-610 Dallas/FW: Going north/south? Well, north/south towards FW or north towards Dallas? IDK, could be 35E or 35W Trying to get to the airport? That's somewhere north...121, 183, 114, they all take you there. Six Flags? Well, it's off of 360, 30, all of those things. The FW loop? Well, 820 is kind of a loop. 635 just ends in the middle of nowhere. Houston is a spoke system. The Dallas one makes 0% sense. I've lived here for a long time and still can't decipher 121, 183, 114 or 635 and what goes where.
  11. We need people at the UH game. And Houston sprawls as much as Dallas, really. Dallas is worse in my opinion because of the two cities being next to each other. And the Dallas freeway system makes 0% sense.
  12. I'm in love with that commercial and I hate the Chubs, as a Astros fan.
  13. Dallas drinks Denton's wastewater. You obviously haven't taken an Environmental Science class. Nice try. :-)
  14. LSU : Have LSU fans in the family, going, yup. K State : Nope FAU : Nope Houston : I'm a Houstonian for life, absolutely I'll be there, if not just to go to the better of the two Texas towns... MTSU : No. ULM : Will I contract malaria if I go to Monroe? Maybe. WKU : Nope.
  15. That was disappointing. But if T-Mitch comes back, next year should be legit.
  16. Nope. Especially not with the ESPN game. Only games last year under 15K were FAU and MTSU. We will beat UH. So take that up to 8-4.
  17. Well, considering the Talons go to the Pit and sit quietly and do the same at Apogee, anyone else but them.
  18. Sept. 1 -- at LSU (Loss) Sept. 8 -- Texas Southern (Win) Sept. 15 -- at Kansas State (Loss) Sept. 22 -- Troy* (Win) Sept. 29 -- at Florida Atlantic* (Win) Oct. 6 -- at Houston (Win) Oct. 16 -- Louisiana-Lafayette* (Loss) Oct. 27 -- at Middle Tennessee* (Win) Nov. 3 -- Arkansas State* (Homecoming) (Win) Nov. 10 -- South Alabama* (Win) Nov. 17 -- at Louisiana-Monroe* (Win) Nov. 24 -- at Western Kentucky* (Loss) 8-4. Delusional? Possibly.
  19. Stayed there in the rain, just a parka and a t-shirt...came down with a cold.
  20. Tickets sold, yes. I think it's fair to say most of our attendance issues still stemmed from FAU and MTSU. Bad weather.
  21. Here's for the haters: 1. Why is it that even people who hate us/look down on us see us ending up in the Alliance? 2. Would we rather look like jackasses like LA Tech? I'd rather not have as much information. 3. No, but ESPN makes up for it, in my opinion.
  22. Absolutely spot on. This is what I've been saying.
  23. History has been proven wrong. Didn't we set our yearly attendance record last year? Draw 29K for Houston after another SEC blowout? Students will show up for the game, it's a Tuesday night in October, students will be there. The alumni need to man up and show up, if they don't, it's pathetic and they are embarrassing. You think Sooner, Longhorn, or hell, even ULL fans would miss this game? NO. This game is way different than the Troy game. There is way more student pride now than there was before, we have a beautiful new stadium, parents/family will want to come, and we should be having a fairly good season. It should end up as a major Sun Belt clash. Okay, 7 months. Man up. Request off.
