  1. Everyone in Texas has jumped ship to the Texans, you might as well.
  2. People care about UTA? UTA is the..."I got rejected from every school but don't want to go to Community College" school.
  3. LaLa will get obliterated. Belt is like FCS vs FBS.
  4. No, you stupid imbecile, I was offered a scholarship to Cougar High but I decided UNT was better for my major, jackass.
  5. I thoroughly love how only the stupid trolls are the ones who disagree. What does it matter if I didn't know what conference we were in? It is FCS. It doesn't matter. I was living in Houston wanting to be a Cougar when we were FCS. I didn't know we existed because we played irrelevant teams. Anyway, I have stats proving our attendance is much better versus regional teams. I'm shocked at how out of touch a lot of you are. People in Florida know UNT. Yet, the people in Florida who know UNT are not going to drive eight hours to watch FAU get massacred here. People in San Marcos would come to Denton to watch Texas State though because they are within a day's distance. Furthermore, people here recognize Texas State so would want to see them play. Why do you think our attendanattendance sucked with Dickey? NO ONE WANTS TO WATCH MTSU. Fact. We don't draw fans just because we're UNT like A&M or UT. Good lord. Like, seriously, the stupidity here makes me wonder why I came to UNT at all. Denial levels are shocking.
  6. This is what I've been saying in the other thread and getting blasted for it.
  7. Fielding a winning team in the Sun Belt...15-18K attendance. Difference now? Nothing. If you were at the game, then you'd realize there were about 17K at the game. A little less than homecoming. The Belt hasn't helped us do anything other be disrespected and increase our irrelevance in the D/FW market. We will never move up because conferences go "UNT has the D/FW market" then see on all the websites us at the very bottom with one or two stories and any research will prove to you that we don't. Why? Because we play teams no one cares about. We play Indiana. Everyone knows Indiana. Even though we lost one game in typical UNT fashion and one in heartbreaking fashion, we still draw 20K+. Idaho, yeah, no one knows them or really cares. Texas State, UTSA, etc. people do know them. New Mexico? Yeah, they suck but people know them. Shall I go on? Go ask people about the opponents we play. No one knows/cares. Even alumni. Those are the people we need to sway. Like it or not, WKU/MTSU aren't getting that done. MAC crowds still have 20K+ in much smaller markets.
  8. The WAC would have Texas State, UTSA and a few other well-known regional schools. Southland may be terrible but we drew when playing it. I'm not really for SLC. Just stating a point. I realize it's a down-step to the WAC. But moving down there to win better and dominate while bringing up attendance will work. Not to mention the WAC doesn't have to have as many money games as the damn Sun Belt. I don't see us moving to the MWC or CUSA.
  9. Really? That 3.5 average he carried into his injury was pure elite college status right there.
  10. What does that really have to do with anything? UNT has a core die-hard fan base of 13,000 who go to the game no matter what and would go to New Orleans to watch us at a bowl game.
  11. Yeah, like all season long, he instead just ran into the pile and fell down. Instead of making moves like he hasn't done all season, he just tried to push the pile with a young offensive line. Makes sense. This is why he will go undrafted and may play a down for the Carolina Panthers then get released.
  12. Exactly my point. Thus the SBC is killing our program. A good % of people on here are really blinded by UNT's irrelevance.
  13. Why would there not be outrage? Attendance like this is not OK. Our apathetic students and alumni don't get the extra push to go to the game when they look at the ticket and see a Middle Tennessee State University game.
  14. Winning + Playing regional opponents + not playing WKUs and FAUs = good attendance. None of which we have accomplished. Look at UH as a good example. Historically terrible attendance. Move to CUSA...little jump...around 22/23K...they start winning...sell out. You can neg me all you want. These are facts. This is simple and proven. Look, accept it or not, we don't have a strong enough fan base for alumni on the fence to go to the game when they look at the ticket and see "Middle Tennessee State University" as our opponent. They just look at the ticket and go "WTF LOL". My pitch to some of my girlfriend's friends to get them in the gate was "We're not half bad..." Their response: "Who are we playing?" My response: "Western Kentucky." Their response: "Who?" Everyone keeps bringing up the Dickey years and the poor attendance. Well, let me tell you this..."DUH." This proves my argument.
  15. Completely not wrong. Go take a poll of people's opinions of the schools we play. Bringing ten fans along? Completely ridiculous. Why was the attendance so good at Houston and Indiana, then? Because people know these schools. I'd put $50 on a bet that if we played Texas State, UTEP, UTSA, or even U of H again we'd break 25K again. A decent football team versus teams people know=recipe for good attendance.
  16. Were we not in the SLC before the Belt? The Sun Belt is making people apathetic and our program a joke.
  17. And when you come see UNT play you get to watch an irrelevant opponent who is from the other side of the nation. "Middle" Tennessee gets me giggles and a "LOL wut" from everyone. People assume we play FCS schools. Look, UTSA/UTEP may be inferior to a WKU but they'd bring fans, and they'd bring respect, which would consistently bring 25K+ no matter the record. UH's attendance was so good because UH brought fans and people wanted to see Houston play us, because they know UH. Such the case with Indiana. If we're 0-9 the stadium will still have 25K+ for SMU.
  18. And eventually shove us back to the FCS. Students and alumni don't want to see the freaking Hilltoppers come play. When your opposing team brings five fans total, your opposing team lives too far away. The SBC is just slaughtering our program, and has since we left Southland. This is completely ridiculous. I mean, there's no rivalries with these schools, and ALL the students laugh/joke around about the schools we play because no one's ever heard of them. Furthermore, unless we start tearing it up in the Sun Belt for years, attendance won't rise. People laugh and put us down when we play WKU or FIU or ULL. There are only two schools that are well known nationally. Us, as NTSU, and Troy. I could care less if we went to the WAC or even went back down to Southland. At least I'd care about who we're playing.
  19. I'm going with "DWI...as easy as .123" and the 3 will be bigger then the rest. Making it tomorrow. I'll post a picture when I finish it either tomorrow or Saturday morning.
  20. I'm making a poster with his mug shot blown up. I need something witty to put on there. Any ideas?
  21. Gotta love all the negs on that post...cos they know it's true and can't come up with anything to say against it. Say what you want about Nebraska, they're the only "nice fan base" in anyone's Top 20. OSU, LSU, Tech, Oregon; all notoriously rowdy and definitely not "family friendly".
  22. WOW! I figured GMG would be full of a bunch of people talking about how THIS IS THE WORST THING EVER and North Texas fans should be all polite, never curse, drink, yell at opposing punters, don't rush the field, and do proper "NORTH TEXAS" fans because there are kids around but also to show that UNT is a righteous and upstanding college like Oxford. Oh, and act like Nebraska. What a high aspiration we have. This forum...
