  1. 3. Use recent experience to your advantage Self and the Jayhawks have a great deal of respect for North Texas, both because of the style with which the Mean Green play and because of what they’ve done in the past. “You guys have seen Purdue play,” Self said Tuesday. “They may be the best team in the country. And North Texas beat them last year. And Purdue’s playing with the same guys they had last year.” That particular victory came in the NCAA Tournament, where the Mean Green advanced to the second round as a No. 13 seed. Self also noted that this year’s UNT team took Buffalo down to the wire in a 69-66 loss, shortly after Buffalo went toe to toe with No. 6 Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich. “They’re capable of giving us all we want and more,” Self said of KU’s Round 1 foe. The reason? According to Self, it’s because this group plays a lot like Tarleton State and Stony Brook, with scrappy competitors making things tough all over the floor and a variety of talented players at multiple positions. “Interchangeable parts,” Self said. “Much like we’ve played against so far. They will play a big a good part of the time. Maybe not all the time. Their guards and wings are really good. They’re balanced.” So much so that Self said North Texas was tougher to scout than a lot of teams. read more: http://m.kusports.com/news/2021/nov/24/game-day-breakdown-kansas-basketball-vs-north-texa/
  2. This is terrible news. It will hurt the attendance immensely.
  3. Agree 100%. Looks like that hotshot SMU assistant is packing his bags as well. Mass exodus on the Hilltop right now.
  4. UTSA's football team keeps winning and H-E-B keeps giving. As the Roadrunners prepare to defend their spotless record against UNT, fans are making their game plans to pack the Alamodome and have it ready and rowdy for UTSA's appearance in the C-USA Championship on Friday, December 3. The efforts to fill the dome with UTSA's biggest fans is getting a boost from the Texas grocery favorite, April Ancira, and other San Antonio leaders who have pitched in to sponsor student tickets. H-E-B's support of the Roadrunners is coming in the form of 2,000 student tickets to the December game. The grocery chain's just-announced contribution is the latest in a series of quiet donations its made to ensure game time experiences for students and San Antonio groups. Previously, H-E-B purchased 1,000 tickets to the November 13 game against Southern Miss. H-E-B donated another thousand tickets for the November 20 game against UAB. Each donation totaled $10,000. read more: https://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/college_sports/utsa/amp/utsa-football-tickets-heb-donating-student-tickets-16646971.php
  5. Agree 100%. I feel like some of our fans forget this is year 6. We need to step up because the competition will only get tougher in the new confernece.

  7. Looks like Buffalo is not as good as we had hoped.
  8. I do recall you stating that so I will give you credit where credit is due. However, do you really think if Aranda leaves they will hire Fuente? I just don’t see Baylor doing that perhaps they would if he had not been fired but I sense that he will get an interview from them due to his relationship with Mack Rhodes.
  9. Yet UTSA's Frank Wilson inherited a pretty crappy program from Coker (4-8 in 2014 and 3-9 in 2015) and UTSA gave him just 4 years before showing him the door. I get you want to give Seth a Covid year pass but damn man how long do you give this guy to prove himself? How long must the program suffer? How long is he allowed to poorly evaluate the QB position? We have 4-5 scholarship QB's that can't play on the dime. I believe you are a sincere and honest fan but you need to understand a lot of us aspire to better things especially now that we are heading to the AAC.
  10. No I heard that Seth is still mad at Sonny for stealing Trey Siggurs.
  11. I get your point but the problem is there are so many openings that you cannot afford to be picky about who you land. The other issue is the top jobs like LSU are taking forever. If you are TCU you need to have someone start working on recruiting asap or you will fall behind. I do think once the top jobs start filling up you will see these lower level jobs start making decisions. I also think some schools will sit this cycle out and wait to get more value in the next years pool.
  12. Apogee sellout next week!!
  13. Bill Clark is a good coach but that was the dumbest call in his career!
  14. And if it does who cares. Half this roster needs to pound sand anyhow. A fresh start with bringing in more play makers would be a good thing for us.
