  1. I signed up for Sling and just got the most inclusive package. I can't find the game...does anyone know how it's listed?
  2. Heyyy...was it you under the tent that I said looked familiar? Thanks to you and the rest of your tailgate crew for a great time! If my girlfriend hadn't broken up with me in the middle of the game, it would have been an awesome day.
  3. I've only been back once before and don't see the tailgate tag post anymore...where is @KingDL1's spot?
  4. We're about to head to the Alumni Tailgate at the Dahlia Room, then over to the Alamodome. If you haven't met me in person, I'm easy to spot. My hair is a sort of teal mohawk and my girlfriend's hair is a little greener. We're sitting in section 141 at the game.
  5. No...just weird that people seem like they were giving him crap for making fun of himself. There's much better material available if you wanna tease people.
  6. Even before that...I think it's field position at the start of each drive. Both have shown potency early in drives, but stalled a number of times, especially in losses. I think our punting game will be huge here in SA. Definitely agree here. This D is starting to make me feel all 2013 tingly, a la Laraimie Lee. The up and down is what worries me. The ASU game was the first that made me think they were a contender in CUSA. Do we play that version, or the version that lost last week (and so on through their schedule)? This will be my first time seeing the up-and-coming rivalry (though I know some here hate that idea) in person...so I'm hoping for the best for our guys.
  7. I get your sarcasm, but it's in response to his which you probably missed. We've had a long history of misinformation, or a complete lack of information, from various parts of our AD. It was more of a poke at our own department than yours.
  8. UTSA fans seem generally pretty cool to me, but honestly...whomever wrote this either drank more than I have, or is at the literacy level of a 5th grader. Seriously...get a proofreader, or be sure to write before your 7th drink. Also, I think he meant "defensive line" at one point when discussing offensive line matchups. There were so many other parts that made me cringe when reading that...gah.
  9. I think it's funny that even when a humble SMU fan who is totally cool pokes fun at his own school using our jokes (like Southern Meth), you guys get on him for that. I've been on their board a few times, don't talk trash, and they're all really nice and respectful when I'm just engaging in discussion. Sometimes I feel like some of you just like arguing...the only fight that matters is on the field. Other than when SMU plays us, I hope they kill it and bring in more and more fans (wishful thinking usually, but still...). Especially when they bring in opponents' fans, the tourism revenue helps fund things like the roads that most of our students and alumni drive on every day. I root for success for every school in the DFW area as it drives revenues and tax dollars that help all of us (and yeah...still planning to move back home soon...hopefully...).
  10. So I mentioned this already in another thread in the Football Forum but thought we could share all of the ones we've found. I was visiting in Dallas and went to a cool place called Eno's in the Bishop Arts District, and their head bartender created a signature drink called the Mean Green, which is a refreshing cucumber vodka cocktail. He's a UNT Alumnus, and when someone shows their North Texas pride, I like to give them not only recognition, but also my business! What else have you guys found as a menu/bar/retail item other than the usual apparel and such that we should know about? Oh, and if you go to Eno's, tell them to tell management that you're there because Frank has North Texas Pride!
  11. Has anyone else pointed out yet that Eno's (in the Bishop Arts District) has a drink called the Mean Green? The head bartender's name is Frank; he's a UNT alumnus who created the drink menu. Their bar area has a bunch of TV's. If they're able to carry the game and you're in the area when there's a game on TV that you won't be attending, this would be a great place to support...well, it's a great place to support anyway, since they're supporting UNT on their menu and hiring our alumni! Oh, and if you hit Eno's, be sure to tell management that you're there because Frank is a proud alumnus!
  12. Looks like it's about a half mile from the stadium...not too bad.
  13. Sure, if they could make it up to the FBS level.
  14. That last sentence...what?! Not a problem, if they pay attention when offered to what went on this year. No reason to think they couldn't compete for the job...many of us assumed it was a lock for Alec to cover the position this year, but look what happened. No favoritism on this staff, thankfully. If any recruit looks at what happened this season and sees that we didn't keep Fine as a redshirt and had him take over for a 5th year senior transfer from Alabama, they'll know that they have a shot if they can out-perform the others in their position.
  15. Yeah, and if you're not already kicking ass, that kind of schedule isn't doing you any favors.
  16. Yes, and didn't many of them halt play altogether during that period?
  17. I've actually noticed Vidal Carlin mentioned quite a bit over the years, especially in comparison to the others mentioned.
  18. I have a couple of questions about this. First, are the contractual agreements regarding conferences contingent upon their being a part of the NCAA? By this, I mean, if they leave the NCAA, do all of the contracts and the GOR and other stuff get tossed out and they start fresh? If so, wouldn't this mean that if the P5 leave the NCAA, that Texas and OU don't have to stick around after all? Also, I think it was you who mentioned something about which conferences have the most money...just checking, you did mean them as a conglomerate and not their member schools, right? Because the last study I saw had Texas was ahead of anyone else in overall annual revenue, but that was a couple of years or so ago and could be different now.
