  1. KingDL1... It is obvious it is hard for you to support Canales, that's ok. But if you didnt see the changes in the offense once the change happened, the points scored, total yards increase, and the rushing attempts sky rocketed. Then you are just blind, or completely in denial. And trust me according to you the "People that would know" know zero...just sayin.
  2. I hope everyone heard the ENTIRE student section chanting "Mike Canales."
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ3uk4Q6MNA
  4. Canales was at the Mall. Here are his Tweets from tonight. "Just Finished promoting K-State Game with players @ Triangle Mall. Players had a blast visiting with Fans. We appreciate support in Denton." And then Later.... Wishing Philip Rivers and the Chargers Success Tonight. Loved coaching him @ NC State. Our Motto: QB's Work. Rivers is having a great showing on MNF.
  5. Dunbar was injured in the 1st qtr of the game and played the rest of the game at about 60%. The injury bug bit us again.
  6. I hesitate to throw this word out there... but the Injury Bug bit us again today, Dunbar was not 100% in the 1st qtr. The offense played good, 300+ Yards Total Offense, 37 Points. Special Team played the best they have played in a long time, FG 3/3 and and a 48 yrd Field Goal. The first Kickoff return for a TD in FOREVER at UNT. Defense was not ready today. Tough Break, all you can do is taste the defeat and spit it out and get ready for a Season Finale against Kansas State....because that's all you can do.
  7. Plum, Whether the SBC is "Not Good" enough to have a team ranked in the Top 25 or Top 50 is irrelevant. That is the conference we are in, and the wins or losses in your own conference is the most important to a team and program. Just look at Michigan and Rich Rodriguez, he has won a lot of his OOC games and lost most Big 10 games and that is why he is on the hot seat. Am I trying to compare the Big 10 to the SBC, absolutely not. My point is the most important wins that a team can have is in Conference Games....period! And until UNT is no longer in the SBC, focusing on beating SBC teams should be priority #1. Conference Championships!!
  8. Agreed.... SAM Coach, You need to be easy on the attacking. I was once told that you attract more Bees with Honey. And Tasty is right, just like last Saturday was a night was to celebrate for the Football Team, tonight is for the Basketball Team. Huge Win for the University!
  9. Point taken Plum... To those doing the hiring Process.... DO NOT HIRE CANALES. If you do there will be a great divide in the Mean Green Nation, and 50% of the fans will no longer support the program, or anyone associated with Canales.
  10. Sorry... I did miss that one. I agree with you, Canales is doing some good things in the community, with the students, and on the field with the team. Why People want to take that away from him is beyond me. Be Careful though with your posts, you could be known as a "Canales Booster"
  11. I really doubt this is a Canales campaign move. I did hear that the Principal at the Elementary School is on the UNT Hiring Committee for the new HC, so maybe that is why Canales did this. Canales's intentions are so horrible, the nerve of this guy. I mean taking College Football players to a Elementary School to hand prizes to little kids, and talk to them about the importance of school and reading is such a horrible move by Canales. What a manipulative and selfish Political move by Canales to do such a thing in the community of Denton the morning before Canales goes on the road for probably the biggest game of his 5 game stint at IHC. Must some of you always try to attack Canales, even with something so positive as this?
  12. I am not apart of any team but North Texas. The sad part is that the boards are either pro or anti Canales. When the man has done some pretty good things for the school, the program, and most importantly the players and seniors on the team.
  13. I take back my "ego" comment. I just associate my dislike for OU with anyone with the last Names of Stoops. I was just saying that it is highly unlikely that he would take a paycut to come to UNT when he is already making $500K @ FSU. Does anyone know what our next HC salary range will be? I know we have to pay out Dodge's contract, and if the assistants are let go when a new HC comes in we will have to pay out their salaries also. Does that make things challenging for us with paying the new HC?
  14. I didnt say anything about Cooach Canales, I was just stating the fact that it is unlikely that Mark would come to UNT. Unlike Canales's situation, Jimbo Fisher doesnt get involved in off the field (locker room) incidents like Canales's HC at USF. So Mark will not be in the same situation as Canales. Must this always turn into a Pro or Anti Canales board? Cant we all just get along?
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4856706 Mark Stoops is only in his 1st year at FSU making $400K Bonuses. Jimbo Fisher is in his 1st year turning FSU into the FSU of old, and I doubt Stoops will leave an ACC school to come to Denton after only being there one year. It would be nice if he did, but he just started. And I doubt the Stoops Ego will let him be a Head Coach at a Sun Belt Conference Team when his big brothers got their first shot at at HC job at a Big 12 and Pac 10 School.
  16. "UNT has posted its two highest scoring games of the season." "Quarterback Riley Dodge posted his best game this season on Saturday against Troy, throwing for 269 yards and three touchdowns. Lance Dunbar added 96 rushing yards and another score for UNT in a 41-35 loss.Only Oklahoma State scored more points against the Trojans this season. The 12th-ranked Cowboys narrowly beat Troy 41-38 on Sept. 11." "Dunbar posted his best performance in the running game against WKU, when he rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns. Dodge followed up that performance by racking up 300 yards of total offense against Troy a week later." With Zero Turnovers in both games. Pretty tough to ignore those facts, especially given the situation the team is in, Injuries, Playing with 3rd & 4th string players. Lets go get a win this week. Go Mean Green!
  17. There were 60+ recruits there today, and there is no half truth about that.
  18. I was told that there were 60+ Recruits at the game tonight. UNT has averaged only 5-10 recruits all season this year. So obviously Canales is recruting for UNT. The question still remains will he be here to coach them. And after what I saw last week and tonight, My Vote is that Canales needs to be the Head Coach at UNT
  19. You think for one minute that Urban Meyer, Saban, Les Miles, Pete Caroll and even good ol Mack Brown dont have a Twitter? They Do... Look it up. And look who the majority of his followers, the kids they have/are recruiting. Its 2010, the game has changed. Now if he is tweeting at halftime or right and/or before the game then we will have a problem, for now I like it. Go Mean Green
  20. This is definitely Coach Canales. He wished his Son good luck in his surgery today. Nice to follow the Head Coach on Twitter...
  21. One Win, but consider the circumstances thus far this season. -15 Starters out with Injuries -Teammate Passes away in car accident tragedy -Head Coach Fired -Playing with QB#3-Who is the son of the Fired HC. -Playing on the Road against a Conference Team on their Homecoming, after they just won and put up 50+points. -Defense holds a team without a TD for 1st time this year. Dont take that away from the Man. Go Mean Green
  22. Would you want to work for a Guy that got you put you in the Unemployment Line for hitting a player and then lying about it? Bottome Line, Canales would still be in Florida as an OC in a BCS conference if it wasnt for the Leavitt incident. Me personally, I wouldnt want to work for a guy that did that, and risk it again. Just saying......
  23. Exactly... Clean Record without Baggage. After all Leavitt is the reason Canales was given to us... Take the Leavitt incident away and Canales is still in Tampa as an OC in the Big East for the bulls.
