I'm going to reserve my judgement on Dan McCarney until I see a couple of seasons of play, but as far as what he can do right now, I couldn't agree with you more. I hope McCarney's first call will be to Canales, begging him to stay.

That was both the best quarter of football on both sides of the ball that I've seen this team play this year and the most heartbreaking quarter of football I've seen this team play this year. Although the extra point block was brutal, Riley was everything you could ask of him down the stretch. He played within his limits in the throwing game and he kept drives going with his running. Nothing but #upnucks for him from me.

Dude. Really? Out of the 10 teams in the PAC-10, six of them would take anyone in the Sun Belt, home or away. In most recent years and especially this year any Sun Belt team would be dogs to Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Stanford, or USC. Five of those six teams are top 25 teams as of this week. Washington State is pretty bad, but they're not Western Kentucky bad. This year Arizona State would beat nearly anyone in the Sun Belt. I don't get how people think the PAC-10 is some slack conference. This year, the Big 12 is more slack than the PAC-10.

How about this: Can we at least all agree for that for any amount of money Chuck would be well advised to farm the final report out to someone who does this kind of thing professionally? Whether he got $10,000 or $250,000, this is bad. It's worse at $250,000, but it's still bad at $10,000. The baseline for any public document ought to be something better than what I could produce in one afternoon of Google, Word, and Excel while sitting on my couch in my underwear. If you're reading this, Chuck, holler at me! I'd knock this out of the park!

It took the Mean Green three weeks to lose their #1 and #2 QBs. I don't think that comparing UNT & Coach Dodge to Stanford & Harbaugh is a fair comparison. Comparing them to Idaho & Akey and especially FIU & Cristobal is entirely fair.

I've posed this question to several Mean Green fans here in North Texas today and the resounding answer is no.

It's just not the decisive direction nor the turning-in-the-right direction I thought it could be 24 hours ago. And the injuries! We're not deep enough to sustain these kinds of injuries and remain competitive.

I expect a big day from Derek Thompson and a bend-but-don't-break performance from Gary DeLoach's defense. Army will run on us, but I don't think they're going to grind us down with the run. We will throw on them. 38 -31 Mean Green for their first win of the season!
