i see the benefit being for some teams that would probably go on the road for the first round of the nit, this tournament might give them the opportunity for another home game (and the ability to sell tickets, etc.), not to mention another win or two to push some to 20 wins for the year (that might mean something to a few teams).

i can't believe we won; even with jj trying to throw the game at the end (again) by not guarding the inbound; just wow!

Tonight, we are the greatest team in the history of the world. I hope we don't follow up this performance with an egg as some consistency would really raise my hopes for what this team can accomplish come tourney time and I am really wanting to have high hopes

I get the flu after the flu shot every year. And, yet, I still keeping getting the shot. Hmm. . . .

Well, I think we have to factor in his injury; there's no telling yet how much time he'll need/want for rehab, etc. Maybe another year off would be good for him.

I find it really interesting that rivals lists him as a 4.9 (two star). I don't think we've ever had one before, have we? If DD were coach, any unknown recruits would just be given a 5.0 (one star) or so I thought.

We can't; as crazy as it sounds, by law, only UT gets to have "The" in their name in Texas (for public schools anyway).

I believe there was some talk about playing an ACC team at one point, but not sure how things are progressing right now.

won't happen. we want baseball first, you have to add a women's sport or drop a men's sport. adding wrestling makes no sense at this point as it would require adding two women's sports or dropping two men's sports in order to add baseball also.

I agree. Man, it was miserable out there; I'm sure glad they didn't get that last field goal; the only thing worse would have been sitting through that misery to watch them come back at the end and lose it on a field goal.

in other belt news, fiu loses again in a heartbreaker to asu to extend their losing streak.

Unfortunately, I do think a lot of it is the coaches. Every game seems to come down to the same thing, the other team makes better adjustments after half time than we do. Even against LaMo, they made better adjustments after half time and looked much better. Same thing happened with SMU, FAU, LaLa and again tonight. We have a winnable game going into the second half and things fall apart.

I thought the offense seemed ok in the first half (some ugly mistakes, e.g., the interception, fumble, etc.), and weren't doing badly in the second half, but they really kind of fell apart after Vizza's third interception (the one run back for a touchdown). It seemed like after that point, everything fell to pieces and they couldn't get anything going at all. The defense . . . ugh is all I can say.

i'm really looking forward to this game. one of my really good friends is a huge lala fan and i've been egging him on about this game for a year now. i'll hoping to spend at least half the game on the phone saying "did you see that pass?" "did you see that touchdown!?" "we're totally blowing you guys out!"

i'm quite impressed with fau for hanging in there as long as they have. i was quite certain that south florida would win handily (even though I don't consider them a legitimate #6). hope fau can pull it off though.

I say more like 47 UNT 46 FAU (we could have easily scored more against SMU considering we had a touchdown called back on a penalty and Fitz actually dropped an easy TD earlier in the game; the defense has yet to show me anything though).
