I think that season tickets for the 2008-2009 basketball team have been sold out since sometime in April. I would suggest that you get on the waiting list for the 2009-2010 season ASAP! If someone moves or passes away and does not designate the seat license to another in their will they will become available to those on the list. I thought this information was common knowledge among NT fans.

Al Goldfield offered to finance the startup expenses for Baseball a few years ago and was not able to to so because of Title IX. That is the key to funding. We won't get baseball until we can fund a new woman's sport. I don't think any of this will happen until the stadium is funded.

Richard Rafes told me several years ago that the price to buy and tear down the cement city area was exhorbitant and UNT could not afford to do it (he gave me an approximate figure, it has been a long time and I don't remember the exact amount, I know it was far more than $10 million).

It was torn down to make way for the Gateway Ccenter to be built.

OK, if you insist, I will address the stadium issue. My source, who I consider very credible, says based on other sources he believes to be credible that NT has recently procured the big money commitment for the stadium. He said "I don't know how they did it but they did it". He gives all the credit to Bataille. In fact he can give me a list of accomplishments of Bataille on the academic side that are as impressive as the athletic info he shared. The way he talks about her it seems that she exceeds the best assets of each of our last 3 presidents (I don't count Vandiver, may he RIP, in that list since he wasn't here very long and we got lucky and A$M took him off our hands). (1) She is a better cheerleader for NT than Pohl. (2) She is smarter than Hurley. (3) She has more connections than "Jitter" Nolan. Remember that of course this info is hearsay based on hearsay so it is triple hearsay to you. But then...

Toby played in the Don January Golf Classic last week. He is a pretty good golfer as well.

He will be playing in a JC All Star Game on April 20. http://rmbnews.com/members/ I noticed that Ronnie Morgan's son plays at Paris JC after his first year at La Tech where he played very little. Apparently he is not being very heavily recruited, if at all. Good thing we did not sign him as a freshman.

I talked to a friend of mine who is an SMU letterman today. He said he played in the letterman golf tournament that preceeded the scrimmage and met with all the coaches. He likes Jones, but still has a lot of concerns about how successful he will be in recruiting. He said he thinks "Dodge will make a better impression in the living room of a recruit". Another friend, also an SMU letterman has told me he is excited about Jones but would have preferred to have hired Dodge. I have always believed that TD was a steal for what he is paid and I am glad we hired him before any other local opening became available.

His wife was also a cheerleader at OSU. Nonetheless, what could be worse than failing at your own alma mater?
