ANOTHER ONE!! LETS GOO
A stellar pickup, if he sees the field consistently.
He separated from the LSU three times during his career for different reasons.

These men are obviously not influenced by NIL.
They're certainly not going to be riding the bench here.
And they all possess upstanding character, and commitment to only 1 team....because they transferred TO UNT!
GO MEAN GREEN!!!!1!1!!11! GO TRANSFER PORTAL!!!!!!1!
I see nothing untrue in this.

"He played seven years..." Seriously, sorry to hear he couldn't finish it out, but 7 years? He should have a PhD, if they offered those....
At UTSA you can get a lot of dual credit hours that can be applied towards a Bachelors at a university, so he has something

Maybe seeing him in those first 2 games will better help them gameplan around his strengths and weaknesses.
So a game plan that doesn't require him to throw the ball vs one that does?

That was a terrible call - it should NEVER have been made in a State finals game.
That call shouldn’t be made in a middle school game. You have mutual combat (hand fighting) and then the DB breaks on the ball to break it up.

So just to be clear, we like the transfer portal now? lol
Just to be clear, no and you knew that before you asked.

How could it get worse? We’ve basically lost all of our good players. What would be one or two more? Or all the rest of our players? This is a complete roster rebuild already.
This is my buddy Todd, have you met?

Just wondering how long it will take some of you to move on from CR? Will we have to see every online story reposted? He, by his choice, is no longer here. The occasional update is ok, but please we do not need to follow his day-to-day life on the Mean Green Football forum.
People still brought up Todd Dodge and what he was up to for years…Chandler Rogers actually won half his games, so I’d expect we’ll hear about him until roughly 2035

Not taking anything away from the ladies but name one good team that we have beaten so far? Smart move by Coach Burton to set up a schedule that allows us to have success while he builds a new program but I want to see us beat someone good before we start thinking NCAA tournament.
Luckily we don’t have to because, apparently, others already believe it’s worth thinking about

On a side note, Bally Sports Southwest has a free 7 day trial, which will cover the playoff weekend if you start tomorrow.

Your "facts" aren't as valid as you think they are. In 3 of our 4 losses, either Jones or Edwards took 16 shots. In 2 of those losses, the one who didn't shoot 16 times still shot 13 times. They're point guards. They should be distributing, not combining for nearly half of our shots.
I watch plenty of basketball. This is not standard unless your best offensive players are absolute studs. Jones and Edwards are good players but they're not efficient enough on a regular basis to justify 16 shot attempts.
Honest question…if Jones and/or Edwards aren’t taking the shots, who would you suggest take them? And please provide evidence based on the play of guys on THIS roster.

You mean Allen/Sissoko, Buggs, and NOLAND simply doesn’t replace Abou, Kai, and Perry. These replacements bring the level of play down compared to years past. Edwards does not start and cannot nor should not be compared to last years starters.
Boise State - Buggs 0 Noland 12 (1st Half 10 2nd Half 2)
Fordham - Noland 0 Buggs 8 (1st Half 6 2nd Half 2)
My new signature line for the season "Never allow facts to get in the way of a good story!"
Since we’re absolving Edwards of responsibility for our current play, let’s get a couple facts out in the open.
- Starting, on this team, is irrelevant. Edwards may not start, but he’s getting starter’s minutes. He averages more minutes than both Buggs and Sissoko.
- Edwards shoots 40.2% from the field and 30.4% from 3 this year. Buggs shoots 40.5% and 35.3%, Noland is at 41.1% and 39.1%, and Rubin Jones shoots just north of 40% from two and three. So, if we’re going to talk about being a poor replacement for last year’s starters and how Rubin doesn’t pass to prevent someone “stealing his glory”…shouldn’t we consider whether the guy who might “steal the glory” does or does not make the shots they are given???
Or am I letting facts get in the way of your story???- 4

Somebody should look at the box score and check Fordhams scoring droughts as well….. or any box score for an average game 😉
Thank you for the invitation, I just did exactly that.
At halftime we were up 35-23, that’s a twelve point lead. We started the second half by scoring a bucket at the 16:18 mark and then a single free throw (missed the other one) at the 13:31 mark…and that free throw was to draw even with a team we, agains, had down twelve at the half.
Now I am sure someone will lean into semantics and say “well, that still isn’t 7 minutes without scoring” but I’ll stand by the fact that 6:29 of game time with THREE points scored (while giving up 15) is atrocious.

Prolonged scoring droughts in every loss is killing us. 6, 7, 8 minutes...I don't care how good your D is, you cannot consistently go dry from the field. I think this is a clear example of not being able to play inside/out to open up some cleaner looks.
I brought this up previously and was told that “it happens to every team”.
No, no it does not

UNT has 23 players in the transfer portal. Other programs with new coaches coming in are Houston ,no entries, Tulane, 1 entry, and Texas A&M, 8 entries. Granted this may change but from what I can tell 23 players is a really big number.
I count 12 Aggie losses, including a pretty highly touted QB.

I understand your point, but this stance is exactly what will be the death of programs like North Texas. The programs, boosters, fans that truly embrace the idea of NIL will leap frog programs that don't. For a case in point, look at how SMEWW has gone all in on NIL and leap frogged the competition and even bought their way in to the ACC. We can complain about the way things are all we want, but it won't change anything.
If we don't support the new world order then blood will be on our hands when UNT gets left behind, but I am sure we will conveniently forget about that part when the time comes.

As fans, our focus should be buying tickets, attending games, giving and setting our program up to compete.
Or our focus can be the same as every year…watching our team lose and wondering why someone else isn’t doing something about it

I've noticed quite a few comments saying something along the lines of "we shouldn't even bother recruiting high school athletes, let's just hit the portal hard." Here is my question to you: How much are you willing to contribute to our NIL collectives???
I assume everyone understands that getting the impact transfers, in this new world of moving to the highest bidder, requires our university to be able to bid with the rest of college football. I mean, surely nobody would come on this board to complain about how we are losing players to schools that have strong NIL collectives while simultaneously refusing to contribute to the solution....because that would just make you look kinda ridiculous.

Looks like the first one is Gabe Stroud, defensive back from Whitehouse.
For the fans hoping for instant payoff out of the portal, I suggest you adjust the timing of those expectations. Expect a lot of the near activity to be High School guys.
I’m sure we’ll get a group of portal guys as well before the spring semester starts, but probably not as soon as these HS guys we are going after and looking to sign on 12/20.
Stole him from New Mexico State it appears.
