  1. Are you driving back to Austin after the game? I so your crazy, but good that you are coming. Of course I will be there!
  2. do you have to be a member? I let mine run out because I never heard about stuf like this. or did they ever have anything?
  3. Because we expected a loss to UT, we did not expect a loss to Tulsa. UT is top 10, Tulsa is not even top 25. We should have not lost this bad to this Tulsa team. You can't compare the two losses. It's like comparing an butt whipping by God to a butt whipping by President Bush.
  4. For those that don't think there will be an impact on Nort Texas, read this... (email from the Center of Emerency Management) HURRICANE RITA IS EXPECTED TO MAKE LAND-FALL ALONG THE MIDDLE TEXAS GULF COAST PRIOR TO SUNRISE ON SATURDAY. THE STORM...ALREADY A MAJOR HURRICANE...IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY TO A CATEGORY 5 STORM OVER THE GULF WATERS...WITH SOME DECREASE TO A CATEGORY 4 STORM JUST PRIOR TO LANDFALL EARLY SATURDAY. THE LATEST TRACK FROM THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER WOULD BRING THE DISSIPATING STORM NORTH TO NEAR WACO SATURDAY NIGHT AND THEN INTO CENTRAL OKLAHOMA...EAST OF OKLAHOMA CITY...SUNDAY NIGHT. SHOULD THE CURRENT TRACK OF THE HURRICANE VERIFY...THE FOLLOWING EFFECTS WILL BE POSSIBLE...IF NOT LIKELY ACROSS NORTH TEXAS. 1. 40 TO 60 MPH SUSTAINED WINDS...WITH HIGHER GUSTS...SOUTH OF A LINE FROM LAMPASAS...TO WACO AND CENTERVILLE. THESE ARE TROPICAL STORM STRENGTH WINDS...AND EVEN SEVERE STORM WINDS ONCE YOU REACH 58 MPH. THUS...SOME LOCALIZED DAMAGE FROM WIND WOULD LIKELY OCCUR. SMALL AND LIGHTWEIGHT OUTDOOR OBJECTS SHOULD BE SECURED. WINDS SHOULD TAPER OFF TO 20 TO 40 MPH FURTHER NORTH ON SUNDAY...BUT THIS WILL BE DEPENDANT UPON THE STRENGTH AND SPEED OF THE SYSTEM ONCE IT MAKES LANDFALL. 2. HEAVY RAINFALL AND FLOODING. 3 TO 5 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE MAINLY ALONG AND EAST OF THE I-35 CORRIDOR. MUCH OF EAST TEXAS...ESPECIALLY THE NORTHEAST...HAS BEEN IN DROUGHT CONDITIONS FOR MOST OF THE SUMMER AND THIS RAIN WOULD BE VERY BENEFICIAL. HOWEVER...DEPENDING UPON THE SPEED OF THE SYSTEM...TOO MUCH RAIN MAY FALL IN TOO SHORT A TIME TO ALLOW SOILS TO SOAK UP THE RAINFALL. THUS...SOME FLOODING MAY RESULT. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH WILL LIKELY BE NEEDED FOR THIS WEEKEND. 3. A FEW TORNADOES. 4. INCREASED TRAFFIC ON INTER-STATES AS PEOPLE EVACUATE FROM THE HURRICANE. WET ROADS...HEAVY RAINFALL AND INCREASED TRAFFIC COULD LEAD TO DELAYS AND ACCIDENTS. ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR TRAVEL DESTINATIONS THIS WEEKEND. 5. SOME AIRLINE DELAYS WILL BE POSSIBLE. AGAIN...ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO REACH YOUR DESTINATIONS THIS WEEKEND. DISSIPATING HURRICANES HAVE MOVED ACROSS NORTH TEXAS MANY TIMES IN THE PAST...TYPICALLY WITH SOME WIND DAMAGE AND FLOODING. RESIDENTS AND THOSE PLANNING TRAVEL ACROSS NORTH TEXAS THIS WEEKEND SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR THIS SYSTEM AND STAY TUNED TO THE LATEST WEATHER INFORMATION AS WE MOVE CLOSER TO THE WEEKEND.
  5. I just saw some high school team on Fox Sports, and apparently they are The Mean Green. Anybody else heard of these guys?
  6. As far as I know we are the only school that tears down a goal post after winning a conference chamionship (every year). I still think this is lame. The first year was fine, but after that it was unecesary. But hey, it's an original tradition .
  7. Eric, you can download them here http://www.unt.edu/branding/imagemarksspirit.htm
  8. Hmm, I guess that is possible. I did not know he did that.
  9. Just kidding With all the crazy topis lately I had to post one of my own.
  10. This is not true!!! Denton has a number of Red Cross shelters, but The Red Cross has not contacted the city about using them. If they are contcted the facilities will be opened up to hold evacuees.
  11. There was at least one play that had both of them in. If I am not mistaken it was one that had a pass to Cobbs. I think it should be done more though, but not over done.
  12. You guys are crazy. The new uni's look great. I am not fond of the helmet though. The design of the jersey is great though. Far better than what we had last year. What do you guys want? Racing stripes?
  13. Ahhh, that is who that was. I saw them out in front of McDonalds by campus today. I could not see the sign from were I was at though. It's awesome they are getting involved.
  14. THe only way a gas-out will work is if it i done over a long period of time. Likely weeks. Think about it. Not everybody fills up at the same time. So if everybody fills up at once sales will be offset for the next several days. OPEC made their money all on that one single day. Those several days will have no effect. My solution to the problem was buying a moped last night. Sucker gets 75-100mpg.
  15. http://www.dallasnews.com/photography (worth signing up, very worth it) Images from NY Times Photgrapher Vincen Laforet http://www.sportsshooter.com/laforet/katrina/ (also on the NY times web site with a few others that are not in this gallery)
  16. Actually we have three open dates Oct 1 Oct 8 Nov 19 Any of those days would work. Oct 1 would not be good though because the Troy game on the 1st. But it could be done if we had to.
  17. It will be at Fouts, Saturday, 8:30 a.m. They want to break in the turf. They are going to practice on it as much as possible.
  18. That does not mean that is what will be on the helmet. That could have been art created by the DRC. Either way I don't think It will look that bad, but still disappointing.
  19. They will have the decals added on later, if we do indeed have a helmet logo.
  20. Man, just lose that stupid stripe on the side and I would buy one. Hopefully they will have one without the stripe.
