  1. I feel like maybe the easy schedule so far could be somewhat offset by not having our best player. We have Smart back now. And we need to get him going. We have a tougher stretch coming up.
  2. Not sure I’ve ever seen this many missed layups
  3. On the flip side. I hope our D is really this good
  4. Man there’s a board on top of our goal
  5. Gonna guess McCasland is saying: SETTLE DOWN
  6. And OU is not playing that great either
  7. If the 3s don’t go down it’s gonna be a long night
  8. Heart rates definitely need to come down a tad.....
  9. Very early. Their size is a problem
  10. I'd be curious what the national average for capacity % is....
  11. This is so right on. +100 I hope people can see the difference in these two perspectives. They are miles apart when it comes to national perception. This is in no way downplaying what LIttrell is doing here....please don't misunderstand me. He is absolutely succeeding. But he hasn't succeeded. For Littrell to get to a Scott Frost or Brian Kelly level....he is going to have to get to a NY6 Bowl. That is what it will take to jump from UNT to a blue blood program like OU. Which means we will have to be the top G5 school in the nation. That is the standard and the only standard to jump to a top 10 program. It's multiple 11 or 12 win seasons and NY6 or nothing. OR....he's going to have to jump to a non-blue blood P5....have success there....then the next step will be an OU. But there is NO way he jumps from a 9-10 win CUSA program straight to an OU type program. He will be behind other top G5 coaches and successful P5 coordinators.
  12. on paper....it's tougher. If Seth Littrell looked at that schedule and thought anything but "bring it" I would be severely disappointed in Seth Littrell... I'm going to go with he's not going to run from that schedule....
  13. TX State would run the Sun Belt for as long as Briles is there....
  14. So basically Vito poured gas on the ground, then lit it and then wondered why everyone was upset that the building caught on fire. You take a quote that on a scale of 1-10 in controversy is a 2. You then twist it to make it a 9. Then....you throw out hypotheticals as to why one in Mason Fine's situation would consider transferring (even though he didn't...but now it doesn't matter.) Now the flame is lit....now you get social media and internet "debate" One side says "you must be naive to think that Mason Fine wouldn't consider transferring to a better situation for Mason Fine" the other side says "No! how could he consider leaving us!" Both of those arguments are rooted in nothing more than a hypothetical brought up by a "journalist" that twisted an innocuous answer to a question about an internet rumor. The whole foundation for this entire "controversy" was based on nothing. Mason Fine had the thought cross his mind because he was asked about it. Brett Vito turned that into Fine "considered it" (in the DRC) and "Pondered it" (his headline on GMG.com) We can get into why it would be a big deal for the greatest player and biggest fan favorite to come through UNT since Mean Joe Greene to consider leaving before his eligibility is up all day......but let's make sure that's a real thing. In this case it wasn't.
  15. I believe it was @meanrob who said this in another thread.... Why was it never considered to bring in Shanbour in those situations? He has been really good at the read option (and Mason is not really a threat to run) Teams do it ALL THE TIME....have a short yardage package with a different look. Having that threat there for the QB to run sure seems like it would've been effective to pick up 1 yard. Did GH ever even consider this?
  16. My concern for next year is the schedule @ La Tech @ Southern Miss @ SMU (we haven't won there) UH (more than likely be a home underdog) @ Cal (solid P5 team) Potential Crossovers: Marshall, MTSU, FIU all solid teams On paper, our schedule is MUCH tougher next year. Also, with the amount that UAB is losing, and with Fine and Co. back....I'll bet we'll be the favorites to win the West again. We didn't do well as the front runners this year....we'll get everyone's best shot again.
  17. I don’t really understand how you can’t be impressed with that stat yes we coughed up those double digit leads but we were good enough to get them......in all 12 games. That’s what makes the losses all the more frustrating. WE WERE GOOD ENOUGH TO NEVER TRAIL BY MORE THAN ONE POSSESSION IN EVERY SINGLE GAME. In other words we were NEVER out of any game one time this year. I know I’ve never seen that in my time following UNT. The only other team to do that this season is arguably the greatest team in college football history.
  18. Why did I turn this Aggie/LSU game on I wanna go to bed!
  19. Agree. However he is young. And I think his inexperience showed this year. I think that inexperience is going to scare big programs away at this point. In the meantime. He’s building a great culture. Starting to (hopefully) make good strides in recruiting. If we can get this class and another good class while at the same time he continues to gain experience and grow. He’ll be a huge get in a couple of years if he wants to move up.
