A program relying on only one donor will not stand! UNT should operate with the best interests of the program in mind, rather than a single donor. I think we see RV and the Prez trying to do just that! I would have renewed my season tickets no matter what, I just love Saturdays at Fouts. However, I will now join the MGC, Jr Mean Green, and try to talk a few other alums I know into getting season tickets. Before Dickey being let go, it was plain weird, not to mention difficult, to try and convince someone to get season tickets.

Big difference between the two. Dunham knows this program as an insider. Galloway is a johnny-come-lately. Based on his inside information, thinks RV is taking the program in the wrong direction. And during the interview said they are going to start working on getting RV fired... Just a thought.

Exactly the point! They have no clue and only know we won 4 championships because they looked it up or read BV's article. Hell, Dickey even started out the interview listing all the crap that has happened to him this year, and pointed out it wasn't till he was fired that they had him on... Galloway said he's gunning for RV... They made it sound like Dickey, single-handedly, has funded UNT Athletics during his 9 year tenure. Granted his friendship with Mac has helped, but that hasn't been our only contribution. I'm really considering switching to the ticket, at least they are somewhat balanced on the issue.

I think that's a stretch... I have no problem bringing in an HC that is using us as a stepping stone. How else are you going to get quality coaching talent. Until we are established as a respectable mid-major program, no one is coming here intending to spend their career.

It's a poor state of things if those are the type of hookers Denton has... The FWST article said that they were not putting a commission together to pick the new head coach. That the new prez and RV were going to choose... Hope this means it won't be business as usual. This is a really opportunity to turn things around if they chose the right HC!

Listening to the Ticket this morning regarding our HC firing and they threw out the possibility of Buck Showalter as the new coach... Any thoughts on this? I don't know the guy's background, I only know him as the ex-Ranger's manager.

Email ESPN 103.3 and set them straight. They were bashing RV for letting Dickey go... It appears that they haven't been paying attention...

Hence the reason DD put the first string back in, couldn't afford to have the Green Team win the game for us!!!

Wow!!! Now this is the major coaching change I've been looking for!!! Way to go Dickey!!! I'm amazed it only took 9 games, I figured it would take at least 11 to make a change this big!

All BELO sites made the change (DRC, DMN, WFAA, etc...) and yeah, it's terrible!!! I can't get to the DRC sports pages right now. I guess to many GMG readers are out there reading it...

If DD stays, I have to assume it is because of the financial donors he brings to the table. However, can any fan, recruit, coaching prospect, sports analyst or any other D1A athletic program think we are serious at NT if there is not a major shake up with the coaching below HC on a team that goes 2 consecutive years with only 2 wins each season? With that said, make the big money donors put their money where their mouth is. If Mac will only support a new stadium while Dickey is at the helm, make him sign a contract before the seasons out. Then at least, even if we have to put up with Dickey ball for the rest of his contract, we can at least hope for a better future in our new stadium. I have to believe a new stadium will help our recruiting prospects.

Won't this just be excused as just another example of the "difficult circumstances" Dickey and the others have to face year-in and year-out? I can just see Dickey talking w/ the BOR: "We can't build a decent program, because every time we have consecutive 2 win seasons the fans want a change. I mean don't they realize we have to be dead last in D1A before we can start recruiting better?"

I'll second that! Cox, Mitchell and Robertson looked like they had the quickness that J-Mo has been missing since his freshman year. I quite agree. Goes back to what I said during the game, having the Green Team play so well shows that the coaches really don't know how to use the talent we've got. I think the Green Team earned their right to stay in the game, to bad DD didn't.

So did Dickey worked with these guys last week directly and by-passed RF? And therefore was Dickey calling the offense while the Green Team was in? If so, does their emotion and production on the field Saturday show just how bad our OC is and give us hope that if RF and Ethridge go that Dickey might turn this program around next year? On a positive note, my boy really enjoyed the game and the fireworks. So I'll always have a reason to go, even if we lose... Nothing better than Saturday night at Fouts, especially if we're beating SMU!!!

I thought the Green Team earned their stay on the field, I guess DD didn't. I figure DD pulled the Green Team after scoring and getting us back in the game because it showed just how bad our coaching is. How can they recruit when they can't effectively use the talent they have? Was it just me or did the RB's that came in after J-Mo and the first string were benched seem to do really well???

Exactly!!! Those who are "done" because of our coaching and our losing record can leave! I believe they would just bring me down if they came and bitched the whole time. I enjoy going to Fouts on Saturdays, taking my boys, and watching the game. I feel better when we win, but I enjoy the game regardless. I voice my concern over the current situation, but I will never stop being a fan. Maybe I'm in the minority, but not going to a game has more impact on me than I believe it does in sending a message to the program!

Correction, 2 TD passes caught, one called back because we apparently have an OL speed demon! Collins was impressive!!! Save Tune for next year... The saying goes "If you have 2 QB's you don't have 1". What would saying be for 4 QB's, "We don't have a clue!"???
