  1. You have a lot to learn, first being not to call people names in public. Criticize my point of view or opinions, but don't make it personal.

As for my not caring about the students, I demonstrate that I do by membership to the MGC and by showing up and donating to the GMG basketball game and football game(even though I will be out of town the previous 2 days). Someday you will learn that what you do means much more than what you say.

Maybe you should ask the person you were so quick to defend how much real, financial support he provides, but that doesn't matter, because he shares your opinion.

As far as "hiding", many people I disagree with know me by first name, my picture is posted on the board in multiple places. I'm not hiding from anyone.

If the mods are reading, don't suspend this young lad. I'm a big boy and can take it.

My family has established a scholarship in a family member's name and that is where I have directed the majority of my giving. Don't make accusations you can't back up big boy.

  2. i hope our athletic department doesn't try to hype up the CUSA move this year. It's not really anything to be excited about or thump your chest over

it's just depressing. About the only teams to be thankful for anymore are maybe Rice and UTEP, and I'm sure they have some seriously roving eyes these days..

We should just stop playing all sports until they place us in the SEC.

  3. So yet again, 6'3" and 300 lbs really mean 6' and about 275.

Why colleges and high schools lie about measurables is something I'll never understand.

Because you have measured him and have his correct height and weight?

Look, we aren't going to compete with Alabama for recruits, so stop using them as an example. The line between zero stars, which means they were not observed, and 3 stars can be minimal. What were the ratings for Scott Hall, Booger, Awasome, Hurd (walk on), Cardwell, Cobbs, Dunbar, Quinn, Zuniga, Brewster, etc...? Many led us to four straight bowls and a 26 game conference winning streak?

Quit criticizing these kids before they even play a down for us. Trice was a 4 star recruit and is now running second team and the muchheralded WR transfer from OU never did anything and he was a 3 star recruit. There are exceptions to every rule, so I believe we should give these young men that chose our university a chance before we relegate them to the scrap heap. One of our best receivers in recent years, Fitzgerald, was a walk-on that few had ever heard about until he was given a chance. All I am asking is that you give them a chance, then again, that is probably hard for you since you drink from a half empty glass while looking through turd colored glasses.

  4. Our walk-on program is strong, but I fail to see how you can argue that our players we sign are not D1 caliber due to their lack of stars or D1 offers and then celebrate a walk-on that had neither. Seems hypocritical to me, a valid point to support my arguement and proof that the rating system is not an accurate assessment for all athletes. I fail to see how being a scholarship player or walk-on matters when I could do a little research and find a multitudeof posts being critical of our athletes that did not have other offers or a certain number of stars given by a biased website.

  5. Haven't seen this anywhere, but I heard from one of the Dads at last Saturdays practice that Dylan has left the team due to re-occurring injuries. Our DL depth just got a little shallower. Best of luck, Dylan. We never got to know ya.

Any idea what injuries he has suffered? He had a great game in the HS All-Star game he participated in, and then had his redshirt year last year. When, how and what did he injure?

Great article on a young man that could end up being a four year starter for us. By the way, since when is 6'3" and 300 lbs. considered undersized? McCarney would have been shocked to have met one of our best, Andy Brewster, back in the day.

I'm sure some will criticize Kirby, since he didn't have any other offers from D1 schools, but remember he is replacing a young man that was also a walk-on that didn't have any D1 offers that developed into an all conference performer.
