Tulsa, smu and USF are the class of the conference.
Mason Lewis has played really well for us, currently tied for fourth at -5, but we need more behind her that can consistently go low. Consistently being the key word. We were right there after the first round, 6th place and 8 strokes out of the lead, but then we shot 14 strokes higher in round two while Tulsa and USF improved on their opening round scores. We can't have those big swings.
Here is the current team leaderboard:

Great stat compilation. But can I add....Lexi Cobb drew 4 BBs in the two games. She's great at getting on via the walk.
I am guessing she was injured early this year because she wasn't playing, but man, what a welcome addition to the lineup. Besides her contributions noted above, she is probably our top, and most versatile outfielder. A really strong four tool, speed, hitting, throwing and defense, player.

Aaron averaged 4 points and 4 rebounds a game as a freshman. Rubin averaged 6 points and 1 assist.
Fine contributions, but not significant. And at the time it made sense to invest in young players like this. It doesn’t anymore. Unless they are immediate roster upgrades, make those young players prove it in D2 or low majors and THEN pick them up in the portal.Aaron also progressed as the year went on and won numerous CUSA freshman player of the week honors.

Massie is roughly the same frame as Cotton and the incoming Mason. I hope this doesn't further stall their development. Time to figure out what we have in our own recruits

Has anybody tried 407 BBQ? Any good?
Yes and yes.

Aaron Scott had a pretty solid freshman campaign, as did Rubin Jones.

Pretty sure that's the same high school as Aaron Scott.
That is correct.

Sparks was a big time power hitter out of high school. Hot she has found her stroke.

Now there was an administrator that spent way more time on the golf course than in the office.

First year in 20+ that I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on renewing my 4 season football tickets.
Tired of never "winning the big game", tired of "it's about me", and "show me the money". Very little or no loyalty to "the team or school".
Maybe I'm too old to be a college football/basketball fan.....
Yep.
They want an NIL? I want a list of what players are being paid what amount and how their name, image or likeness is being used to earn these dollars. The fans give this money so we have a right to know.
These kids entering the portal and signing elsewhere, I want to know what we offered/paid and what the new school is paying. Too much secrecy when the fan base is paying the salaries.- 3

It must really drive you crazy when our coaches and players say every team is tough. Let alone the program that's been at the top of the conference and ranked the last 2 years.

Truly, I really do...
But I don't think anybody was looking at our run defense last year and thinking, "I'm worried about playing them."
Tulane barely beat us last year with their all world QB, etc. They will have a new coach, system, etc. There is no reason we should not beat them.

Tough opponent? We should have beat them last year. Personally, I hate posts that are state our opponent is tough. That should be worried about playing us.

We don't need development high school players in this time of NIL and Portal. We need experienced JUCO or other college-portal players that seek starting positions to apply.

3-4 players seems normal, I don't see a single team up at 7 or more outside of ECU which I mentioned.
Per 247, the following players from Memphis have entered the portal:
Cherenfant
Young
Pierre
Taylor
Williams

Players leaving due to coach leaving makes sense to me. You like that coach and he recruited you there, maybe you don't want to play in an unknown system. I understand those reasons. We are not in that situation, our coach is still here.
Again, you don’t have to look very far to find both examples.

Layne Taylor is not going to Arkansas, lol. Now… Aaron Scott, Rubin Jones or Jason Edwards might.
I would be shocked if any of them ended up in the Ozarks.

If Hodge is giving these players his blessing to go, then the pressure is on him to replace them with as good or better players. There is zero loyalty to the school and I won't have much loyalty to these players. As @Marty stated in another thread, cheer for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back. The bad part I foresee is that people are going to get tired of giving to a NIL Collective when these players come and go on an annual basis.
