4 shots back as a team and Cazaubon in the individual lead by 1.

Now only 5 shots out of the lead. Go Mean Green

Like I said last week. You guys might seriously lose to Idaho. Those Petrinos can turn around any program.
The only Petrino to turn around a program is his brother Bobby, who typically wore out his welcome by either resigning via text message or not being able to keep his pecker in his pants. Paul may turn out to be a fine Head Coach, but assuming his success because he is the brother of Bobby would be similar to assuming Billy Carter would be fit for President because of his brother.

I think you bought ticket selling hype about "best team in NT history". The person who came up with that reminds me of the butterfly story. A butterfly is sitting on a tree and says "everyone says it's going to get cold. Well, I've been here my whole life and it has never been cold". I guarantee you the person who came up with that never saw the 69-70 team or the 75-76 or 76-77 teams. I don't think we had a single player from last year who could have started on the 75-76 team, which was briefly ranked in the top 20. When the statement was published I thought it was insulting to those teams, but for the butterfly he had no reference but maybe the last 15 years. I could agree with that, a possibility. I thought the season hinged on Overlander because we had no shooters. When did you ever see Tony make a move and say "Wow". His shot was a dunk. The guy from Lehigh outplayed him pitifully, so did Neighbors from UALR. Sometimes I think advertising can sell everything. If you would told anyone in 1970 that one of the top selling items in a grocery store in 2013 would be water, you would have got a reply of "crazy". You probably buy a lot of water.
And I don't think the program is destroyed. There will be games next year and I will attend.
Welcome to the board. I've tried this line of thinking with the usual suspects. All I can say is, "Good luck with all that."

5 million and travel expenses would be a drop in the bucket compared to what we would stand to gain in alumni involvement and contributions.
Why do we ALWAYS think this way?
You were a fan of joining the WAC, weren't you?

Now tied for the lead with the MUTS, which is surprising considering the MUTS' players have to battle the big issue of their cheerleader's fetching their ball after each shot.

I only mention it because there is a lot of interest in him locally and because there has always been a feeling among some UNT fans that local families owe their first-born (or any member of the clan who can play football) to UNT.
That's a dumb quote by Vito. Nobody expects that, we just wish our coaches would recruit Denton better.

Our very first spring game drew a huge crowd considering the times. The major complaints were not enough hitching posts for the horses, having to walk across campus and the Denia people picketing the game due to the smell from the additional manure from the extra traffic.

And here is the first "diamond in the rough" post.
I don't know a thing about this young man just making a statement. Have you seen him play?

Dude, don't you have a drug deal to make or something?

Once again, kids often Google their names to see what is being written or said about them. Any young man that is filling it up for 40+ deserves a look. Who knows, he could end up a HOF'er, so let's give him a chance and hold the Benford attacks for threads dedicated to his demise.

Can't believe all those kids play quarterback and defensive tackle.

Was Chancellor under orders to not return any punts? I have seen this posted on here but didn't know if it was speculation or if this was indeed the case.

Any relation?

If the results don't match the talent we have recruited the last 3 year, will we then see a bunch of "diamond in the rough" and "you can't trust recruiting services" posts to justify a drop in recruiting.
Like I said in the previous post, it's early, and Benford may indeed pull several rabbits out of his hat, but the start of Spring signing is very concerning.
True, we did have some talented recruits the last 3 years, but the results didn't get us to the NCAA's, thus winning the SBC tourney, the past two years. I agree with Harry, let's see how this ends up.

Calling Oregon's bad implies you don't get it. Sorry, bud.
No, I get it bud. No continuity, change all the time, etc... I prefer a timeless look, one home, one road and maybe an alternate. I do not care for a "flash in the pan" look that changes every game. I would not like it in a house or with a mouse, in a box or with a fox. I do not like the flash in the pan, I do not like it Christopher Walker man.

I'm really surprised we're spending all this money on updating the Pit for the 2000 spectators that'll show up to games in the future. With a stadium, it usually has a direct impact on school prestige, etc...but B-ball arena? Not so much. Definitely need better lighting, at least. That should be more important than the board, IMO. Too damn dark.
Seriously?

You can agree on something without calling names!

You're clearly underestimating the strength of CUSA, even in its current weakened state. This year's schedule conference-wise is much tougher.
2012 2013
LSU Idaho
Texas Southern Ohio U
Kansas State Ball State
Troy Georgia
FAU Tulane
UH MTSU
U-LaLa La Tech
MTSU Southern Miss
Ark State Rice
USA UTEP
ULM UTSA
WKU Tulsa
I'm telling you right now, that these teams are far far more powerful then what you've been seeing for the past 10 years (though last year was imo an anamoly) You guys have received front row tickets to Hell. I'm sorry but you had dogfights against FAU and USA plus lost to a very weak Troy team who lost to FAU, Tulsa, La Tech, Southern Miss and perhaps Tulane will eat you guys alive.
Regarding the QB situation, BB should have blown DT away according to the fantasies of many posters here. From what I've observed, DT will continue to be your starting qb.
You should know as well as anybody, that these rankings don't really matter until the game is played. Not one team on this list is a LSU, Florida, Alabama, etc... caliber team, so anything can happen. Kind of like Texas State @ San Marcos beating Houston last year.

I could care less who makes the uniforms. I've seen a lot of Nike merchandise that looks like crap, so what is the problem with going with Russel? They make a quality product and these uniforms aren't really that bad. There are many out there that are much, much worse like Maryland (UnderArmour) and Oregon (Nike). Why do you find these so bad?

extended background checks won't stop a nut...a nut already knows they are nutty and won't even apply...a criminal knows they won't be able to pass a background check, so they will get a weapon illegally. the kid who shot up newtown got the weapons from his mother...she had them legally...NOTHING WILL STOP A NUT THAT WANTS TO COMMIT A CRIME!!!
Amen. Don't tell that to Reid and Pelosi.
