And, if he is like most 18 year olds, he hasn't stopped growing.

Tony Nunn is 6'7", as reported by Tony Bemford tonight at Lucky's. but everyone who thinks he his 6'10", rage on.
Trying to figure out where this came from. Nobody in this post listed him above 6' 8".

I just want to know who that male cheerleader is in the picture. I would like to shake his hand.

What did he get wrong?
This sentence for one:
Sophomore Jordan Williams can really score the basketball.
What in the world does that mean? I swear ESPN is ruining the English language. It is like when they speak of an injury, say a sprained ankle, as they say, "Player so and so is out with an ankle."

I think this will draw well and will provide other revenue streams. I would love a North Texas baseball cap, jersey, batting helmet, etc...

How about "outlawing" stupid colored turf fields?

A couple of thoughts --
While Dr. Rawlins will be greatly missed, UNT has a great opportunity to make a big impact hire here.
Typically you don't see these type of retirement announcements unless a good candidate has been identified.
With the capital campaign, Tier I status, changes in the education system and the overall growth of the University this replacement will have a full plate from day 1.
I am pretty confident that the person hired will be 100% behind athletics. In years past I would have been more concerned about this but with the capital outlay for Apogee, pedestrian bridge etc I just can't see anyone being hired that doesn't realize the critical importance athletics plays. Simply put, there are just not many University presidents looking to de-emphasize athletics as seen in years past.
It will be interesting to see what type of candidate Chancellor Jackson and the Board of Regents will hire. Historically it has been more of an academic candidate --- but with the battle for Tier I funding, an emphasis on political ties and fundraising capability become paramount.
Hope it turns out better than the Lee F. Jackson hiring since that is why he was brought on board.

You can knock the Belt as much as you want, but winning 4 consecutive conference championships is a major accomplishment, don't care who you are.
That was the conference we were in at the time which was not Dickey's fault.
I respect very much what Odus Mitchell accomplished while he was here. But let's look at this honestly:
The playing field at that time was much more even than it was in the Dickey era. The facility arms race had not yet begun. Programs like Texas weren't generating a billion dollars in revenue. Recruits couldn't fly all over the country. You didn't have television or at least to the extent you have television coverage like you do now.
Part of me wishes we still had those days where everyone had a fair shot to be successful on the gridiron. Dickey inherited a program mired in a move down to I-AA, had a crap stadium and crap facilities and a bottom tier conference to sell recruits. Every year he had to rebuild his staff because we wouldn't pay our assistants. What he was able to accomplish in four years with those significant roadblocks is pretty amazing.
I appreciate your thoughts on Dickey and what he accomplished, but he was poor at representing our school and Mitchell was a class gentleman.

Does it really matter what color swimsuit the girls wear? The team might have 2 or 3 different suits that the girls can wear so that they don't have to put on a cold, wet suit each morning.
People need to get over the black uniform thing. The "incident" with DD and black uniforms happened something like 8 years ago. Move on already.
I think the main issue is that we are green and white.

If we lose, JJ should be fired from LSU and forced to coach Jr. High ball in Metarie.

I agree. Hope not.nah.

Okay. Should have thrown in the North Texas State University reference in the title for good measure.

I think Young is a fine QB, but I believe he is a senior this year while Berglund is a sophmore. I would rather have a player for three years that fits our system as a dual threat over a player that has one year and is a true pocket passer. I mean no disrespect at all to Young, but I think Berglund is a better fit for us. Young will probably do very well in Tech's system.

And to top it off, he was a great man. I don't think I ever heard anyone say anything bad about Coach Mitchell.

I have to go with Odus Mitchell. Led the team through integration way before any other schools, had a winning record, great teams in the late 60's with players that succeeded in the NFL and were some of our greats and coached here for two decades. Put him at any other powerhouse school and he would be a legend.
DD couldn't keep his foot out of his mouth, had the aforementioned record, has a practice field named after him because we were held hostage by a self promoting furniture salesman and whose success was really a testament to the leadership of players like Scott Hall, Jonus Buckles, etc...

You lost me when, regarding selecting the coach of the All-Century Team, you stated that you had to go off of results...and you picked Dickey. He was 20 games under .500 for his career.

Not selling out a new stadium.
This isn't criticism, it's just the lay of the land currently (or until proven otherwise).
Thanks GrandGreen.

The Holiday Inn Express at I35 and 380 is also nice, or it was two years ago.

Just what we need. The Liberal majority states like California are in the deepest holes. Yep, that's the kind of fiscal leadership I want for Texas.

UNT vs ULL Men's Game
in Mean Green Basketball
Posted
ULL had 28 more FG attempts than us. Unbelievable. We played bad, but got screwed over on some calls. Wish the league or the officials had to answer for some of that crap. Screw the Belt. Benson will run if into the ground.
